Pricey Add on

A nice little add on, unfortunately I’d does not sit quite true with the bench, I think the bracket may be a fraction of a degree off square causing it to tip a bit low on the outside edge, I will have to resolve this with some small packers.

I have always loved my 11 year old Sjöbergs Elite workbench, and when I saw this item I thought it would be a useful addition. I was kinda right, but it was a big hassle to install. In fact, the brackets supplied were not the same configuration as those in the enclosed instructions. I made it work but it was most frustrating. Additionally , the skimpy 5 x 40/ 5 x 70 torx head screws were, inadequate for the installation, not to mention the ridiculous, impossible to use torx wrench! Once I substituted heftier screws - same length - I was able to trust the installation. Plus for the money, I think it might have been a better deal if at least one 'Holdfast' Lug ($93 value) had been included. I had to purchase this separately. Also, when I got my original workbench the beech top had been nicely oiled; this platform arrived well sanded well but as raw as it came off the tree! I suggest you apply a finish before the installation. A useful add-on, but be prepared to puzzle over installation. Finally, the idea that this could be wall mounted and useful is misguided at best.
