Almost Perfect!

I would give this thermostat a 4.5 star rating. It could be improved slightly by including the outdoor temp and humidity to the display screen and some improvements to the app (it’s a little generic). I also wish it had the ability to follow a program schedule and use geofencing simultaneously. But, the few things it lacks are more than made up for with all of the other features, at least compared to the Honeywell Smart Color that I exchanged. I love that the temperature differential can be adjusted. This was a major feature that the Honeywell was lacking. Installation was also a breeze; built in level and work light. Awesome! The screen is also easy to navigate and very responsive to touch. Overall, this is a great product that I would recommend.

I bought Sensi smart thermostat with paid install

Nothing about the product. Install attempted but the thermostat required a C wire. My unit is set up without C wire. So my ac wasnt blowing cool air. The service man came back 24 hrs later to uninstall the thermostat. I was told ivwouldnt get ny money back for service. After i researched my findiings were the product could connect with or without a C wire. The contractorbit wasnt knowledgeable to do the job.

very impressed

I have been using Honeywell thermostats for years but I must say sinsi has beat them all. very easy to install very easy to program lots of options and best of all I can control it through my app on my phone I don't have to get up and play with buttons and dials, it's very accurate even since me messages about humidity, air flow and circulation. can also be controlled by other devices and you can also secure it to where only you can do the programming. very impressed very happy great purchase for the money.

Absolute junk

Will not stay connected to WiFi and is a pain to keep reconnecting every time you want to use App. Without App the thermostat itself is not user friendly at all. It will not show you current temperature or anything. It will only display what tstat is set to once you tap on the blank screen. The AC has not run right since installing this unit. They should be embarrassed to even sell this to anyone. I can't wait to return it and get something else.

Highly Recommend Sensi Smart Thermostat

The price is right and the product functions great! I highly recommend the Sensitive Smart Thermostat. Our energy bill has went down and our 2 year old HVAC system runs more efficiently. I installed it myself, easy as slicing cheese. I had my HVAC guy come and give my system an entire PM Service. He said the thermostat is so much better than their Honeywell they installed 2 years ago. I am a very satisfied customer.

Great Item

This was a great choice for the price. It works with Alexa, Android, and iPhone. Installing was extremely simple, as when you download the Sensi app you get step-by-step directions on what needs to be done. The app allows you to program a schedule, and can even add reminders for maintenance items like your AC filter. On top of all of this, the unit itself still functions very much like one of the older manual models, so it can be easy for you tech-challenged family as well.

Great price. Great product. Great service.

Our fan was not coming on when the a/c kicked in on our old traditional thermostat, even though it was working normally with our heat (furnace), so I decided to replace it with this smart thermostat as a logical initial troubleshooting step. I also purchased installation for just $99. The installers were friendly, professional and thorough, taking time to clean wires, coils, and other furnace components. Fortunately, it fixed our problem. At a total price of $200, including installation, it’s money well spent, and a far lower price than I’d prepared myself for, expecting a more serious, more complicated, more expensive problem.

Horrible

Constantly disconnects from Wi-Fi when Wi-Fi has a perfectly strong signal. It also changes the temperature on its own it kept raising my temperature to 85 and I live in Florida. Customer service is useless on this device. They kept telling me somebody had to be changing it. There's is only 2 people in our house and we never have guest. Neither one of us have changed it or touched it and why would I put my thermostat up to 85° in Florida.

Disappointed...

This thermostat was a bust for me. Installation was easy and instructions in the app were clear and easy to follow. However, the thermostat would not connect to my wifi. Also, even though it was wired correctly according to the instructions, the AC would only deliver hot air no matter the setting on the thermostat. I really liked this thermostat and had high hopes it would work. Oh well. Others seem to like it.

Easy to use

I absolutely love this product. My contractor was supposed to get a nest and he couldn't find one so he asked if I'd be willing to get this one. He said if I didn't like it he'd switch it out at no charge. I ended up loving it especially after getting the app. I have animals and I love being able to check the temptation from work and able to even adjust it while away. Adds a huge sense of security knowing my animals get the right temperature for their day. I'm sure nests are great but I am 100% satisfied with my Sensi.

Maybe we’ll eventually get past the set up

This might be a good product but who the heck knows? Surely not us because we can’t get the freaking thing set up. It does not come with instructions but instead tells you to follow the prompts on the app. Well that’s great in theory except the app doesn’t tell you where to attach the wires. We kept ending up with extra wires and no clue where to attach them. There was no troubleshooting on the app and we couldn’t find any other third party source with answers. We’re not uneducated people and this isn’t the first thermostat we’ve installed so I like to think we’re not just too stupid to figure it out. Returning this to Lowe’s tomorrow and getting something else.

Excellent WiFi Enabled, Programmable Thermostat

Very impressed with this thermostat. We wanted to change to something that could be controlled with our phones, and this was an excellent solution. VERY easy to install, especially the use of the stickers to know which cords from the old thermostat connected to in the new one. The app is VERY easy to use, and you can get more information online from the Sensi website if needed (such as what the Cycle Speed referred to). It does a great job in decreasing the humidity as well.

Great price and Easy Install

I just moved into a brand new house with a programmable thermostat that wasn't Wi-Fi, and boy did I miss the Sensi I had installed at my old house. The old one had on-screen features I never used, because I almost always just programmed and adjusted it on the phone app. When I saw this one at a lower price with fewer on-screen features but using the exact same app, I didn't have to think too long about it. Following the app's installation instructions was even easier than before thanks to the QR code that I could scan to get started. After I installed mine at my old house both of my daughters got them too. Now I can check the thermostat from bed again, or from across the country for that matter. Alexa can even tell me what Sensi says and adjust the temperature for me. Why anyone would NOT want this is a mystery.

It works just as it should and was easy to install/setup

I purchased this thermostat after I had previously replaced my old thermostat with Honeywell T5 smart thermostat. Compared to Honeywell, Sensi has more efficiently maintained my homes temperature and is by far the easiest in terms of setting up schedules, which was a huge issue with the Honeywell T5.

Around the World control

I needed a home thermostat so that I could adjust things remotely. My need is beyond the usual 7-Day type programs that most thermostats have. By being WiFi connected, even when I'm across the world I can log into the app and make adjustments.

average programmable t-stat

more or less functional programamble t-stat. Yes, it's a color display - a big reason I chose this model. But, colors are not user alterable, so you are stuck with the color combo chosen by Emerson. Still, much easier to read for those of us with eyes which have been around a few years than the hideous dark green on light green used by many inexpensive t-stats. Provides basic functionality, with some programmability... enough for most uses. So far, has been reliable. Installation (as far as hardware) was straightforward, as these things go. Setting up the WiFi was another matter. I've set up many WiFi thermostats, but this one was one of the most aggravating I've run across. Setup must be done with a smartphone and Sensi app. I gave up trying to get it to connect to WiFi after several days. The app was originally very poor, but has recently updated and is improved now. Tried it with different phones, but no difference. Decided to try the updated app a few days ago. I was able to configure the WiFi, with things going as expected. Thought it was done, finally had remote access to the thermostat - but not so fast. It disconnects constantly despite strong WiFi signal. I've tried different routers, a dedicated AP, and everything I can think of. I've installed other WiFi t-stats, and never had this much trouble out of those. Not wasting more time on trying to figure out why this t-stat is so finicky and flaky on WiFi.

Doesnt work

The only reason I’m giving this two stars is because I have not got a chance to re-check the wiring. I installed this last night per instructions and connected the wires exactly the way it instructed me to. I have a knowledge of HVAC and I understand what each colored wire does and where each should go. First thing I did was set the schedule for the start time and the temperatures. The room was 75 and I had a heat set to 72 and a cooling set to 80. Naturally the unit was off until the temp went below 72. It never really came on. This morning I found the unit at 70 with a set temp for the time at 72 and I then bumped it up to 73. I went to work and re-checked the temp through the app three hours later and found that the thermostat is indicating 69. I took the scheduling off and put it to directly to heat at 73. It is still at 69 even though the screen has the orange background. Before I left for work the screen was orange but I went over to one of the registers and did not feel any heat or airflow. I had the fan set to automatic and to circulate. I took it off circulate and left it on automatic. There are some occupants at home and hopefully the temperature will not get that cold as this thing may not work and leave them without heat until I come home. I’m very disappointed in this unit and will be bringing it back and replacing it with the Honeywell T9 that comes with an additional room sensor. I had bought a Honeywell T5 and it worked very well except the app is very weak and sometimes has to be worked to get it to properly pair. I replaced it with this unit in hopes that it had more features and it would work better. Not a good choice!

[Rewarded Review] Straightforward installation, terrific user interface, solid smartphone app

I’ve installed several programmable thermostats and the Sensi has been the easiest, most straightforward installation. I’m using the thermostat to control an Arcoaire split-unit heat pump that I bought last year. The app stepped me through the installation and included a couple of videos that were very helpful. My previous programmable thermostat, the one replaced by the Sensi, did not use a common wire (“C wire”) but fortunately for me an unconnected common wire was present in the wire bundle at the thermostat and already connected at the heat pump outdoor unit. The product literature says that it is necessary to have a common wire, but the instructions provide three ways to make a C wire connection, so I think almost any modern HVAC central air unit can be controlled with the Sensi thermostat. The installation instructions are also viewable on the Sensi website, but having the smartphone app was much more convenient for me. I don’t use the geofencing feature but I do make frequent use of the ability to monitor and set temperatures remotely from my smartphone. I like the Sensi Touch’s backlighted display that shows the indoor temperature in large numerals. The time and relative humidity are also shown in a smaller font on the menu screen. The thermostat functions can be set and programmed from either the display or the smartphone app. I can get usage reports on HVAC performance (heating, cooling, fan runtimes) using the app but the app is not able to provide energy consumption information.

[Rewarded Review] Sensi Touch Smart Thermostat

I needed to replace my thermostat to a Wi-Fi smart thermostat. The Sensi Touch Wi-Fi smart thermostat fit the bill for me! The installation as fairly easy. You will need to download the app and it has a step-by-step instruction to remove your old unit, label wiring and how to install the new thermostat. It took me a little over 30 minutes to get it up and running. I needed to add a C-Wire (common wire) to my unit to work. Lucky for me there were a couple of wire that were not being used, so I had to go into the Fan unit and attach it the common connection and to the new thermostat. Setup on the Wi-Fi was simple and no issues. One nice feature is that you can control your thermostat from anywhere in the world. For example, you left the heater/cooling on while you were on a trip and forgot to turn it off, you can get on your smart phone with the app and adjust it or turn if off. Love that feature! Another nice feature is it has a Smart alert: Sensi unit features smart alerts to help detect extreme temperature and humidity levels in your home. Also, you can check your app and see your daily historical on your heating/cooling and fan runtimes. Setup runtimes was simple using the app. You can have several different schedules for example I have for heating and cooling when I am at work and one for holiday days when I not working. On the face of the unit, it displays the time, current temperature inside the house and humidity. If you touch the menu, it has the sleep mode, back glow, home screen contact, schedule, Wi-Fi, about the thermostat, advanced setup, contractor Information. It works with Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple Homekit and SmartThings. Comes with a 3-year warranty and made in Mexico. Great product!

[Rewarded Review] Easy to use and install.

I love the flexibility the Sensi ST75S thermostat provides. Being able to control the heating system from anywhere via Wi-Fi is unbelievably convenient. No more getting out of bed to check whether the heat downstairs was left on. Programming in the app is straightforward too. I have schedules for traveling, traveling with pets, and last year added a COVID schedule for when the family is working and schooling from home. And because our child likes to press buttons, I like that I can lock the display using the app. Ha! You can also set temperature maximums so no one can crank the heat when you’re not looking. If you have a cooling system you can set minimums as to not turn the house into a walk-in freezer.
