Price vs Quality
I only had so much money to work with but it looked like they put 1 gal Jap Maple in a 5 gallon bucket and filled with not so great mulch. Not even good quality potting soil. The root system looks weak . I pray it makes it through winter if not I guess they get it back. I planted with quality soil , peat , and fertilizer mixed with our native soil. Only about 3.5 ' tall planted. I would not order this again. Greatly disappointed..
Half dead and it still hangin there will see what happen after winter of don’t grow will let u just like other 2 tree
I got a sick plant
I got a sick plant. All the leaves are eaten by a bug. Also the box came open.
Don't waste your money on this tree
Bought 2 of these trees back in May. Received in semi good condition. Leaves did have a little damage. Once 100 degree weather they dried up. Not for zone 8 as stated. Home Depot and seller will not guarantee these trees. You are better off buying at a local nursery to ensure they are for zone stated.
Dried leaf edges
I was so excited to give this to my son who has always wanted one. Unfortunately, when it arrived all the leaf edges were dried. I expected it to be in perfect condition. I wanted to return it but my son said once it was watered and planted it would probably do fine. So, we shall see!
Beautiful!
Arrived in protective packaging and was well watered. Unboxed and ready to plant! Looks wonderful, I’m very impressed with the cost and condition of this tree.
I like this plant. When delivered to my house, the plants were still fresh
Advertised as 5 gallon tree but that's untrue its a 2 gallon at best, tree was dehydrated and likely infested based on leaf condition.
Tree had white spots on leaves and most were dead.
It was just the tree that I wanted at a reasonable price. It arrived in a timely manner. When I opened the wrapping, the leaves had white spots on them as though they’d caught some overspray that damaged the leaves. I planted it within a couple of days. After a couple of weeks, there is new growth and the new leaves are perfect.
Arrived with moldy leaves
Item was shipped without label that specified this side up, which resulted in soil being lost around the roots of tree!
Arrived smaller than online pics. Saw new leaves sprout within few days but the new growth doesn’t look as healthy. Just fertilized it so will have to wait and see how the roots establish
Arrived fresh and fluffy. It's growing beautifully.
It is a healthy tree & was 5 ft tall when delivered. We planted it in partial shade corner of backyard & it’s growing nicely. The leaves are beautiful & recovered quickly from delivery ?. FedEx tracking showed it was in the delivery truck all day! It was fortunate that seller packed the tree in well protected box & root ball was moist.
Good product
The tree was delivered on time. Looks healthy, about 5 feet tall. Good quality with much cheaper price than some nurseries. Exceeded my expectations
Pathetic looking with very small root growth
Do not purchase these online. For $75 you get a very small tree with a thin trunk and small root ball. These are NOT 5 gallons, more like half that. I purchased the same item at a local Home Depot and the tree was 3 times the size. These are comparable to $30 trees available at the same store.
Mixed Feelings
Bought 5 of these trees, returned 2, and sold 1 to a friend. All trees required significant amount of pruning due to very acute branch angles and all had buried root flares. All had a mesh root netting that was causing some circling roots. The 2 returned trees had with curled leaves with some browning. One of these trees was also very asymmetric. Returning was easy. These are the best value for size for Japanese maples, but they will take a bit of pruning and work to get established.
I just don’t know
It came looking like a very long twig with leaves that are droopy.I don’t know if this is normal for this stage .I am disappointed but I’m going to give it a chance an hopefully I don’t regret keeping it
Pack well no broken branch . The maple look healthy and about 5 feet tall
