You definitely need at least two people to put together but it turned out pretty nice. It’s heavy enough that high winds will not move it around.
Exactly as advertised!
A lot of pieces to put together and not incredibly sturdy, but it looks really nice and hides my AC unit.
The instructions could have been so much better. The illustration was the opposite from how I needed my fence to be set up. But eventually the fence was assembled and it looks great around my garbage cans.
[Rewarded Review] Some Needed Privacy
The Hartford Enclo Privacy Screen is a simple and clean solution to hiding unsightly items that don’t fit conveniently in areas that naturally conceal them. It felt surprisingly secure upon standing it up, particularly since the area where I installed it sloped away from my driveway. You will see in my pictures that I used landscaping stones to prop up the backside of it, and I took the pictures prior to backfilling it to bring it up to level. At first this disappointed me because I didn’t want it to look jury rigged, but after seeing it and thinking it through, I decided that I preferred this for a few reasons: first, this will allow me to weed-eat along the bottom of it without marking up or damaging the fence itself; second, the fence is slightly shorter than my trash bins, but this will allow the tops of them to sit under the top of the fence; three, there’s a top of an old stump inside of the fence that will be buried when I back fill. For those reasons, the imperfect location for this privacy screen ended up being perfect. As far as assembly, there are a few things you should know. For starters, it says to assemble with two people for convenience, and that’s the absolute truth. Normally, I ignore those little convenience tidbits, but there were some unnecessary challenges I faced when I tried to assemble it myself. The way the slats fit between the top and bottom of the fence made it pretty hard to keep it all together before screwing it in by myself; same with standing up and assembling the walls. There are spacers for the top and bottom, and the slats kept sliding out while I was lining it up or putting in other slates so just save yourself the frustration and have someone give you a hand putting it together, which I ultimately did. Next, really take a minute to figure out which end posts go where. The holes are specific to where the post will stand, and this may very well have been designated in the instructions; either way, we missed it and had to take it apart and switch posts around. This wasn’t that big of a deal, maybe five minutes, but obviously, you’d prefer to avoid that misstep. Finally, there are two options for assembly. The typical is a horseshoe shape, but I opted for the alternative “L” shape with one short wall and one longer wall. This is just a preference thing. Sidebar: I don’t know what kind of engineer they had pack this thing, but it was so satisfyingly packed. Everything fit together inside of the box like a puzzle. My father-in-law who happened by while I was taking it out of the box (and stepped in to help me later when I needed another pair of hands) was an engineer, and the packing job piqued whatever sensibilities that lot seems to share. Ultimately, the Hartford Enclo Privacy Screen is the right fit for what I need. It has enabled us to use the entire driveway as well as hide away our garbage and recycling bins and should work well for you if you have a similar need.
[Rewarded Review] Double check you configuration post not universal
Great little privacy screen to hide a/c compressor, garbage can or clutter.
[Rewarded Review] Outdoor Privacy Screen
We used this product around our air conditioners. This privacy screen is great quality.
[Rewarded Review] Lots of good install options
Really like the product, assembly was fairly simple and easy, use a large enough flat surface and it goes together pretty quick. I replaced a worn out PVC fence screen with this to block my outdoor AC units from view. Assembled slightly different and didn’t use any corners. Although it’s not in the instructions the product can go together like that. Mounted mine on some landscape timbers due to a change in elevation and it came out very nice and am pleased.
[Rewarded Review] Better looking than an AC unit
I got this to dress up the outside AC unit and it’s just off our patio so I wanted to quiet it down some. Easy to assemble and looks nice and as a bonus it did quiet down the noise. Seems well built and should last for years. Can also be configured in an L shape to hide trash cans if you wanted to.
[Rewarded Review] Great Privacy Screen for Garbage Bins
This is really nice and looks great. Would make a great looking fence. Didn't take my husband very long to put it together like an hour or so. He done it in the garage as it was very hot yesterday. Will use it to hide the garbage cans. It had everything you needed to put it together. You will need to secure it so that on very windy days it doesn't blow it down not that it is that light but we have been getting stronger winds than usual. You do have to put together every piece so plan on it not being in sections, still it is worth it. It is PVC so basically maintenance free just spray it down every spring when you wash your siding and that's it. We are very happy with it and I don't think you would go wrong with the purchase of this Privacy Screen.
[Rewarded Review] Exceeded expectations
Such an easy fence to assemble and install. Instructions are clear and didn’t take more than 30 min from start to finish. Looks clean and matches the rest of the decor. Height is right for an older AC unit.
[Rewarded Review] Absolutely love it
I didn't realize how much I wanted a privacy screen for my heat pump outside until we put this up and I saw the difference it made! I can't believe how much better it looks. The fence is very sturdy and well made and it took about 25 minutes to put together. I definitely recommended this product.
[Rewarded Review] Versatile Screening in a Box
When I installed a generator for my home I quickly realized how exposed it was to the street view of my home and I felt as though I was advertising something that could fairly easily be stollen. I had been searching for the right product to provide the screening necessary with a curb appeal that complimented my home. This 2 in one system provided that. You can really make it work in at least four configurations to suit the needs on either side. This item came with spacers but I quickly found out you need to check and recheck those spacers to ensure it was properly seated. After some tweaking which wasn't hard, I got this set up just right. I am still leveling this as we are doing landscape work around it but the included spikes make this simple to secure and easy to adjust. The caps are attractive and provide a universal look to complement different design themes. I would highly advise having 4 hands on this project as assembling loose pickets can be challenging. This product is made of premium vinyl and will hold up to UV abuse and will be easy to clean. Our family enjoys this and we have received compliments on it from neighbors and friends.
[Rewarded Review] Very good privacy screen
This is a very good privacy screen/fence. It is heavy, but not overly so. It seems built to last. It went together relatively easily despite poor instructions.
Absolutely worth every penny
Product arrived quickly and looked exactly like the photos. Assembly was easy (clear directions and all the needed parts) and final product is sturdy. I’m very pleased.
Nice quality, easy to assemble (solo) and great assembly directions.
This privacy screen matches our fence and caps. What a bonus for us.
Fence arrived quickly and not damaged. Was a little difficult to put together and took some time. At times needed 2 people to hold and attach. Otherwise, privacy screen is sturdy and covers our air conditioner unit on our patio. Very pleased with the end result.
Looks great. Hides my trash cans. I needed some extra stacks and hooks and when I called the company Marcus was great and knew exactly what I needed and sent them out right away. Thanks Marcus
