Something different

I've just purchased this infrared heater. So I can't comment on the overall functionality of it just yet. Aesthetically though it looks great on my patio. The standard patio heaters were simply too tall, for my space but I definitely wanted something for the cool mornings & early evenings. This appears to fit the bill. The directions weren't as clear as I needed them (thus four stars) but I figured it out, I will very likely order one more.

This is a great heater for a small group of maybe no more than four. The heat is instant, consistent (even with wind). The table top stays cool for beverages, food, to touch, etc. It is slightly too high for regular height patio chairs but such a good, quiet heat source!

Good Heater but...

Got this heater for my wife three or four years ago. She uses it on our 10x12 porch in the winter evenings while smoking a cigarette. Have had to repair it about once a season, mostly replacing the switches. This year the element lost too much resistance and burned up some wires. Replacing instead of repairing this year. Never imagined she would have missed it so much.

Not good for a small group on a deck

I just got this and it was easy to put together and heats up quickly, but you have to be sitting pretty much on top of it in order for it to warm you. The heat doesn't blow or anything. Not sure how it'd work with having several friends around it. I don't think it's worth it for an outside deck area.

Great looking heater and love the table top usage. Would have liked for it to put out more heat around it.

What a disappointment!

Purchased for personal use on a covered deck. This lovely looking item doesn't heat "up to 140 sq. ft." It barely heats 9 sq. ft. Very disappointing for the price. Really.

What heat?

Almost no heat is given off of this product. It is extremely overpriced.

Well built, but not warm enough for my use.

Well built, but did not give off as much heat as wanted. Looked at reviews on several sites and indicated it would give off heat within a few feet around the table. In reality, unless your feet and legs are right under the table you feel nothing.

Works as Promised

We haven't used it that much to date, but it wasn't difficult to build and it 's worked as promised (heat is felt out to a 3' radius or so).

Rusts quickly

I bought this bistro infrared table 2 months ago. It works well however the base has started to rust and corrode. I had it on a covered patio and it was never exposed to the rain but we have had a wet damp spring. It has a IP24 weatherproof rating "even in wet or rainy environments no need to put it away every day." However only the top is stainless steel, the base certainly is not, judging by the rust that started after a few weeks.

We recently bought this and we LOVE IT! Takes the chill off of your legs on cool evenings. I highly recommend it, unless you have toddlers. May be a safety issue. Home Depot goes above and beyond in delivering product! They've been amazing! Thank you SO MUCH!!!

Go with gas if you actually care about warmth.

Kind of gimmicky. The heating element doesn't put out that much warmth and it can't be directed. The light is weak and just shines straight up. The large cord coming out of the base is kind of ugly too so maybe it's better to go with gas. It was easy to put together and has pretty study construction.

This heater gives out very low amount of heat. It think this is true with most electric heaters. You have to be within 1 foot from the heater to feel the heat. So I just use it as a table now.

This table is so functionable. The glass on the top is thick enough so that the heat of the base does not penetrate the surface. I have had for over a year and I have used countless times on cool summer nights. Highly recommend!
