Difficult Assembly
I did not realize that assembling this product required a degree from either MIT or Hogwarts. Put it on the ground and then tighten nut from the bottom...? Huh?
It's easy
Well I haven't actually put anything in it yet but I love that it was easy to put together
Using this on rear of a class C motorhome for extra storage/carry capacity. Carrying lawn chairs, table, and canopy, all fit nicely. Will know more after my trip is finished. I am already seeing some rust around the edges, which is concerning.
Packaging says, do not return to the store, but obviously HD did accept a return and then shipped it out to me missing parts! Luckily, the manufacturer was fantastic at getting the missing bolts & nuts to me ASAP! I use this on my Honda HR-V, which has a towing rating of only 1500 lbs; I use it to haul trash bags to the dump and to get all my gasoline containers filled for the lawn equipment — it is perfect for those two chores and really saves my back and my car’s interior. I purchased a locking hitch pin for it because someone said he wanted to steal it ?.
As advertised but side and end pieces kind of flimsy
I’ve already used it and it worked well. I may remove the side and end pieces. They couldn’t restrain anything much heavier than a load of ping pong balls.
Very good for price. I only have about 150 lbs on it equally distributed. Rides fine on the back of my RV.
Excellant performance
I installed it on my rv bumper to load some jacks and blocks in. I am quite pleased with the way it has performed so far. You can fold it up if needed but I never do since it always has stuff in it.
I needed a cargo trailer with sides to carry temporary fence panels that I use while camping. This cargo carrier was right for what I needed. It was really easy to assemble. The sides fold in if you want to store it flat. The carrier does not fold up so always flat out away from my camper hitch. It does not come with a hitch pin. This is a key piece for a cargo carrier so not sure why it was excluded. Another concern is the small pins that hold up the sides. I have heavy metal fence panels so hoping they will hold up for a while. So far it’s working fine but I may purchase a carabiner clip to add more stability.
it was what was expected.
Easy to assemble. It was missing square tubing caps and reflector tape on half of it.
Easily assembled and seems strong enough but the spring loaded gates pop out with little to no contact leaving you constantly worrying if your cargo is contained. The 20" of depth doesn't really allow room for anything especially if you take into account that it's 17.5" by the time the gates are installed. Not really much room for any substantial items. Stronger gates and more room would have upped the rating.
For the RV. Perfect size
It feels secure
I put this on my rv back bumber. I also added to braces on each end of it so it is very secure. Holds a lot of stuff and by putting it on the back I don't have to worry about tongue weight so much.
Easy to put on and easy to put together!
All good except blocks brake lights, when carrying storage boxes
This lives up to the other positive reviews. I put it together in an hour and a half maybe. (I don’t usually assemble things, new single mom.) We used it to haul two inflatable kayaks to Colorado and were able to store other things in it. I was glad I purchased this one with walls (as opposed to the flat tray trailer.) It was handy for sticking in wet towels and other items. Sometimes the walls felt a little flimsy but reinforced with rope and ties it worked well. You’ll need a standard hitch lock and I used a cargo net system for covering my items. Home Depot got it to me faster than other retailers. Very pleased with purchase.
This was just the ticket for carting chairs, umbrellas, and other things that don't easily stack in an SUV.
Buy Hitch Extender
Good carrier except it melted the products I had on it. Thank god it didn’t catch complete fire. Had to shop while camping for extender. The hitch extender helped a little. Now bought aluminum metal square to place at exhaust areas in cargo. Hope that works for next trip.
DO NOT PURCHASE
Purchased this item and now cannot get this off my SUV. The pin is stuck in there on the first install. Lowes personnel cannot get it off. Will have to get it sawed off. This is a defect. Lowes should take it back whenever (if) we can it off. Totally disappointed.
Easy to put together and attach to the motorhome. Great for firewood and anything else you do not want inside the coach or in compartments on the exterior.
Great product
Easy to put together. Very sturdy and did exactly what I needed to.
