Definitely treat the wood when you unpack. All the wood is packaged individually, it took me a day to properly treat and wiped down all the wood with Tung Oil. After assembly I let it set-up for a week with drawer & cabinet doors open before I put it to use. Important to watch the video while assembling unit.

An AWESOME piece of furniture! Exactly as described. The dropleaf part was damaged (from manufacture, not from shipping). The folks at Catskill Craftsmen were excellent in sending out a replacement very quickly. The assembly wasn't as bad as described in the reviews though it did take some time and needed a good amount of space. Yes it does take two people at times when standing the unit up for particular assembly points but not a problem. It will work very well in a fairly small kitchen area and the wheels do help roll easily but also takes a bit to get the unit to stay put against a wall with easy rolling wheels even with the locks on. Once again not a major problem. Love the unit! Would definitely highly recommend the product!

Absolutely beautiful portable kitchen island!! Had it a month. The wood is lovely- matched our kitchen cupboards almost perfectly. Its functioning as we had imagined, giving me extra counter space and a sitting/serving area. And then I can simply roll it out of the middle of the room. Sturdy construction. Very pleased.

It's not super high quality furniture, like you would see...

It's not super high quality furniture, like you would see in Buckingham Palace, but for a DIY put together kit, it's quite nice. The wood quality, machining, and overall build is significantly better than any other kit I've assembled. I also have their matching kitchen island and love it. When you're ready to assemble it, you need to have patience and plenty of time on your hands. However, if you're organized, have an extra helper, play some calming music, have a nice drink, and read the directions carefully, the finished product is well worth the effort.
