Great instructions for a pretty sold build

Instructions were easy to follow, all parts and pieces were labeled well, screw and attachments package well organized. Desk is made of MDF material with vinyl veneer overlay so it will show knicks or bumps so take care when assembling but all pre drills fit perfectly for a good finish. This desk presents well and is in a good price point.

Good looking and sturdy

Instructions are very detailed and easy to follow. Everything went together very well and nice fit for all the parts. Only complaint is the packaging for the hardware is a bit cumbersome

I am super happy with this desk. It is very sturdy, absolutely beautiful, and everything I was looking for in an executive desk. I am looking forward to getting a few more pieces of this same collection.

Desks instructions are a joke. Product assembly is so unnecessarily complex it is sure to have you throwing tools across the room. A great way to start a fight if that's what you're looking for.

The desk took a while for me to set up as I am limited in my movements, however when finished it was absolutely stunning. The desk has enough room on the top to place my laptop computer and other items needed to complete my task. The drawers were ample enough to hold all my papers and glide out easily. The only thing I wish it had was a pencil drawer in place of the keyboard drawer, which is no much use as it is too low to be ergonomic.

Not as good as it looks!

It is surprising that a furniture store sells unassembled furniture with no recommendations for someone to hire to assemble. It went rough and is not perfect. I won't go this route again. It is like selling a car without the keys. It is not as nice as it looks. Edges are a bit sharp for a desk. It is taller than most desks. I am disappointed in this desk and RC Wiley.

This desk is beautiful. It came in pieces everything needed to be put together but the instructions are easy to follow.

I do not recommend this desk at all.

Thought that I was purchasing a quality Sauder product but alas. The devices used to assemble the desk leave you with a constanly flexing desk. Drawers overlap due to this flexing and you cannot open the center drawer without one or both of the side drawers as well. I thought that I was purchasing a desk with a total of 7 drawers but the description is deceptive in that the two upper side drawers have a false front that only appears to be two drawers resulting in two drawers that while deep you end up digging if you choose to utilize all of that space. Very disappointed in this product. I appears that the quality of Sauder desks have declined since purchasing the desk that this one replaced.

My only concern is the front panel for the pull out drawer for a keyboard torn the screw and hinge from the bottom of the drawer when sliding it out. I have picture if needed. Overall, I would recommend this company and their products. They provide a professional look to any office for a reasonable cost.

Executive Desk, Shoal Creek Collection, model# 408920

My handyman spent from 11:00am until 5:30pm on this executive desk and was still not done with it. Hes claiming he has to now glue all the decorative front parts of the drawers to the grooves of the boxed drawer piece as theres no other way. The decorative boards are not gliding into the grooves at all, and now he has to come back and spend so much more time on this desk, costing me more money to pay him on all the extra time to figure all this stuff out. He said he also still has to do the tracking on the drawers and made a comment to me that he hopes they run smoothly and not as difficult as these drawers. I will never buy this product again.

Lousy Craftmanship, OK directions

This took my Husband and I over five hours to build. The directions are as clear as they can be with this horrible craftsmanship. Sometimes, the screws they tell you to use are too short so they just fall out. Frequently you have more holes then screws and the directions say "use the left side" or " use holes 1 and 3". How about you just give me the right number of holes? Then, we had to go back and redo some steps. We had to take the drawers apart and reassemble them because they were already falling apart. We had to remove 2 of the drawer slides because they don't tell you to take them apart before you screw them into the desk. Ten steps later you need the inner part to screw onto each drawer. And of course the release mechanism is on the inside. The inside of our desk is so scratched up from the gymnastics we had to do to get these slides out, get the middle piece out, then put the slides back in. Awful. We flipped the completed desk over and about half a dozen screws fell to the floor. We scooped them up and put them in a drawer. It will become evident where they came from eventually. I know three of them came from Piece Y on the rear privacy panel. Piece Y is going to haunt my nightmares. None of those screws held. Some of the pieces are labeled but many are not. For $400+ dollars I expected more. For this level of craftsmanship and aggravation this desk should be no more then $150. Less

Great desks but horrible delivery.

Great sturdy desks. But I am giving it 3 stars because It took some time to put together. And the delivery truck did not ring the doorbell, they just left the desks on the front sidewalk and drove off.

I highly recommend this desk.

Beautiful piece of office furniture!

I love the desk. It looks beautiful. You will need help carrying the box into the room you want to set it up in but once you have it there the build is pretty simple and the instructions are very clear. I like how all the screws and stuff are separated in a plastic organized bag.

Well built desk and excellent customer service

First off this is a well built desk--took about 3. 5 hours to assemble from open the box to finish (I factored in I had to wait a week to get a part replaced--their customer service is outstanding---immediately identified the part that was damaged and shipped it quickly). The parts are well labelled (a pet peeve of my mine on other companies products). You have to take the time and read the directions. Once assembled the desk looks fantastic. This is definitely a two person job though as you at one point have to flip the desk. Helps also to have a big space to assemble. Make sure you assemble this in the room you want to put it in as the desk is pretty wide

I would never buy this product again

This is a very cheap piece of furniture made from particle board, cheap plastic and aluminum connectors and difficult to assemble without compromising the cheap components. Ours ended up, literally, in the trash.

Great customer service

Desk is exactly what I hoped for. When I initially received the desk, there was an imperfection from the manufacturing process on the edge of the desk's top. I contacted customer service and that same day Sauder had a replacement desk top set out FedEx with Sunday delivery. Keep in mind this piece is 75 pounds and measures 5 1/2 feet by feet. I couldn't be happier with the purchase or the service.
