I purchased this bacterialstat for my Aircare 831000 humidifier. The 1043 super wicks for it cost $20. The Nevada slimy tap water ruins them in two weeks.This product has stopped the slime build up so far. Worth the savings on wick filters alone.

We've used this product for tw0 consecutive years now, and it's done an excellent job without sending any aroma into the house. It does not, however, completely prevent the growth of mold on the filters. It did greatly reduce the mold buildup on the filter and extend the life the filters to make it well worth the purchase price for us. Be advised that we are running well water with high iron content which may hamper it's effectiveness.

Does the job at suppressing mold and mildew in the humidifier. However, seems to be a little too foamy when refilling the removable reservoir. I find I must add it to the water tray the foam ring sits in, instead of the removable reservoir.
