Lift Top Mechanics Do Not Work

The mechanical piece inside the coffee table prevents the top from fully closing and staying closed. Every time I try to close the one side, it automatically reopens a couple inches above or it opens fully. I've tried contacting Lowes to repair or replace it and each time they tell me someone will call me back in 24 hours to get a repair started... over a week later, no one has called and the top still doesn't work. Given the cost, this coffee table is not worth the hassle. Spend the money elsewhere with a company that will at least help you if you have an issue.
