Would not recommend
It went together fairly easily and seems solid once together. The knobs are nice. However, the finish is not consistent across the piece (with one place not even smooth or shiny) and there were places with little chips. It does not look as nice in person as the photo. Also, little plugs don't seem like they will stay in without gluing - we will see. I would have sent back, but we just needed a nightstand in this one room. Will get something better later. Am not recommending this item and would not purchase this brand again.
Sloppy workmanship
This cabinet took way too long to put together. Pieces did not fit properly. Screw holes, which were pre-drilled, had to be drilled again… They were not deep enough nor did they fit the screws. The sides were designed to slide into grooves on top and bottom… Either the sides themselves were crooked or the grooves were not straight. I finally managed to fit them in by removing the crossbars, fitting the sides into one slot, then fitting the crossbar onto the side before installing it. Finally, the bottom panel does not fit flush; the floor can be seen through one edge… Like I said… Sloppy workmanship.
I agree, this is a cheaply made item.
Believe the other comments that say this item is cheaply made. It really is. I would not use in a bedroom nor guest room. It’s embarrassingly cheap. I’m using it for a drop zone to store shoes, bags, and miscellaneous items for my back door. We’ll see how long it actually lasts. In a pinch the item works… however, if you want a quality item, this is not your item! I would not recommend… but stuck with it for now.
Winsome Eugene Nightstand Review
For Winsome nightstand: 3 stars. Easy to assemble, roomy, and sturdy. But thin wood chips easily, cracked legs, and mismatched paint. Not long-term investment, but fine for DIYers.
The one I received is junk
I removed all of the pieces from the box and wasn't thrilled that the finish on the panels were flawed quite a lot, but the worst was when I started to put it together the wood by the screw holes was flimsy. At one point it simply split. It's a pain for me to take it back because the closest store is 40 miles away and I see no option to have it sent back. Maybe for some it looks nice, but it's a no from me.
CHEAP JUNK! DO NOT BUY! NOT WORTH THE MONEY!
SHAME ON THE HOME DEPOT FOR SELLING THIS JUNK! AND SHAME ON ME FOR NOT READING THE REVIEWS! You can no longer trust Home Depot to provide a quality product! These tables look good in the photo, but upon opening the box and looking at the front panel, the rail above the door is cracked where the hinge pin is installed! At the bottom of the left leg, the wood and the finish are damaged, and the printed sticker pannel doesn't match the color or grain of the wood frame! the overall finish subpar at best! Save your time, frustration, and money and DON'T BUY FURNITURE FROM HOME DEPOT!!! AND THAT IS A NEGATIVE ONE STAR REVIEW!!!
Looks nicer than the Quality
This is very cheap product. The only solid wood is the top. Sides on it are cardboard with a laminate wood look. One of the units came in broken in the box. returned and ordered some other product. Looks nice though.
Not very sturdy.
The night stand does have a nice look but the legs taper from a wider width to very narrow at the bottom even on our carpet, which is a low pile, the stand wobbles, especially when opening the bottom door. It has a magnet to keep it closed so needs a hard pull. The legs should be wider all the way down or even no legs would give it more stability.
NOT a heavy "solid wood" type piece
Cons out of the way first: Appears higher quality/sturdier in pics than actually is. Not as flimsy as cheap-o particle board, but not heavier solid wood we thought it was based on pictures. Drawers so slide out pretty smoothly but do have "wiggle room" from side to side that higher quality pieces do not have. We ordered two and one had chips off the finish where white showed through, each about 1/4 inch x 1/2 inch. We're going to use wood pen to cover rather than sending whole thing back. Pros: Love the beautiful dark color and the hardware design/color. Perfect height for our beside needs. Price very affordable, but definitely a "get what you pay for" situation.
A new low
The only reason we kept these (after returning one because there was no paint on the edges of the top piece) was that they fit our decor and we can't find anything else anywhere that matches them. Even the ones we kept have paint scuffs and defects (see pictures). They are basically a wooden frame with thin board back, sides and even the cabinet bottom! I had to reinforce the bottom or it just bowed if you put anything in there that weighed more than a few ounces. The paint is tenuous too - don't rub too hard or it comes off! What is really frustrating is that there is a more expensive solid wood cabinet that looks exactly the same on the home depot site but it is perpetually out of stock. We would have gladly paid the extra for the solid piece!
Mostly agree on the quality of this item
As others have said, this is a cheaply made and poorly finished product. Both of mine, for example, came with flaws in the finish and obvious nicks and dings. That said, despite what others have said, putting them together was common sense and not difficult at all. I would also add, to give you an idea of the quality, that it's better construction than something from IKEA. At least, it uses real wood parts and not just particle board. So, it's OK, not great. It will function for awhile.
Looking great
It looks great. I bought a pair. Putting them together was easy and each takes 10 to 12 minutes. Every piece fits very well. The instruction manual was fairly graphic and easy to follow except ffor one piece which could be placed inside out or outside in and the manual did not show it well. It got 4 starts from me because it actually feels not "substantial." So, if you are looking for good looking piece at a low price, this is a great one, but if you want to have solid furniture, this is not it.
Not so bad...
Was a little concerned when I read all the negative reviews, but honestly, what are you expecting for less than $70?? Our pair arrived in good condition; minute, very fine scratches can be covered with those magic markers specifically made for wood. It was NOT difficult to put together, you just have to get organized before you start. I like that there are portions made of real wood. This makes them appear to be more solid, more substantial. The best part is that my husband and I actually were able to do it together without killing each other...that's saying something! I'm getting some glass cut to place on top, which will keep them nicer longer. I say go for it!! Uploaded a picture from our bedroom....

Easy assembly. The nightstand's top surface is thick wood and the drawer is fairly solid as well. The sides, door, and bottom panels are thin and feel a bit cheap but get the job done. My biggest issue is the drawer's dimensions say it is 14.50 W x 12.50 D when it reality the interior of the drawer can only fit something that is 13.50 W x 11.00 D. Pretty inconvenient when I had already purchased a drawer organizer to go with the nightstand that would have fit with some room to spare if the dimensions were correct. Otherwise, useable nightstand that you get what you pay for.
Piece of JUNK!
This nightstand is the worst product I've ever gotten on Wal-Mart site. After the challenge of putting it together because it kept falling apart, when I finally finished piece of the cheap wood came off. Then the bottom of draw was a thin cardboard. The lower bottom of stand had a gap, the cheap wood parts are thin. The top of the nightstand is rough, if you rub your hand across it you might get a splinter in your hand. When I open and shut the draw the table shakes. I have to open and shut draw slowly so it doesn't fall apart. This item is not worth the $66.23 plus tax I paid for it. I honestly have to say it should ONLY cost $10. Wal-Mart shouldn't sell this item or any item this horrible and for that price for JUNK. I can't ever remember giving such a bad review for anything I've bought on Walmart.com. I've bought couple things that just didn't fit well. But this I was very disappointed and upset for the money I paid. I end up buying a different night stand from walmart.com from seller JAXPETY and it only cost $50.99. compare to the junk one. The quality is way better and I saved $15.24. I love the new one.
Very disappointed
I was very disappointed in the quality of this piece given the price. I didn't expect it to be great because I know you get what you pay for. However, I never imagined it would be so flimsy. The door does not line up so it does not close all the way on the bottom, and I cannot fix it because of the way it hinges. The bottom of the cabinet is a very thin piece of cardboard, so you cannot really store anything in it. The screws stripped very easily in some areas when putting it together. The completed product teeters because the piece was not designed with precision. And the finish was scratched or chipped in some areas.
DO NOT BUY - chincy
This item was damaged upon arrival. The TOP of the nightstand was chipped in a very noticeable spot. Additionally, the unit is incredibly cheaply made - many screws don't align with their holes or tighten into place, the thin *particle board* sides are impossible to put into place and align, and are very flimsy. The bottom of the unit is also - surprisingly - particle board and is incredibly cheap, and it has to hold the weight of the ENTIRE contents of the cupboard, and yet it is SO thin and cheaply constructed that I really can't even put anything into the cabinet, apart from light objects/clothes. What's worse, the bottom "shelf" (if you can even call it that) doesn't even secure into place but simply sits along one real on the L &R sides (and not front or back), which created an effect of the shelf bending into a "U" shape if you put any kind of weight on it. Unfortunately, the whole thing is now assembled (which took absolutely forever, due to the horrible instructions) and I can't stomach the idea of disassembling it to return it...ugh. DO NOT BUY!

Perfect little nightstand. I got the walnut brown one and it’s a great color. The assembly can seem a little difficult at first but once you take a few seconds to go through it, it’s super easy. It took me about 20 minutes to assemble. The side pieces don’t seem super sturdy but unless you’re like kicking this thing or something it shouldn’t be a problem. It has a lot of space for storage and a lot space on the counter. All in all I’m happy. The only issue I had was that there is no drawer stop so the little drawer on top can just come right out if you pull it all the way. I tried putting the little end nubs they give you on the drawer to stop it but they come out pretty easily (even after hammering them in) but no big deal. I just have to remember not to pull it all the way out. Overall I’m super satisfied.
Why don't they just label the pieces?
Many of us have no talent for assembling items that come in multiple pieces. This night stand is a perfect example. There are 27 different pieces that all look similar and not one of them is labeled with even a dot sized piece. Not one! One sticker put at the manufacturer could turn 3 hour project into a 30 minute operation. Also you need 2 people to assemble this because one needs to hold it together while the other one puts the screws in because that is just how it works. I am dyslexic and when I look at the pieces I see a giant mess when I look at it with no vision of how it goes together and no vision of how it goes together. I will give it on more go and then it goes back. What a shame and what a little labeling with tiny dot sized stickers could prevent maximum frustration for the buyer.
Pretty, But Could Be Better Design
This has a nice finish and is very attractive. I think it could have been designed much better though. The drawers were well-designed, sturdy and went together well, but the rest was not as easy. Several of the screw holes were slightly misaligned, not enough to make it wobbly, but it made for a few tiny gaps. One of the two night tables we ordered had a really good magnetic catch, but the other catch didn't really work and will have to be adjusted somehow. What I liked least was that the bottom (in the door section) was a piece of thin finished wood, that just gets placed in there and it floats unattached. It would have been better if it fit securely in a slot like the rest of the side panels and drawer bottom did so that it would not move.
