Hand painted and pretty enough for entertaining! These really are as pretty as my China! Beautiful set. If you love blue and white kitchens you will love these dishes! Arrived on time and well packed.

The color is good. The dishes heat up...
The color is good. The dishes heat up in the microwave a little. Longer in the microwave the hotter it gets. I don't know if it is the company making these at a lesser price for Home Depot, but the weight is slightly lessand make are a little different. I bought these two years ago and only had two chip and I have big boys handling these. Although I am the only one doing dishes. I found again on HD site. They are cheaper by fifty dollars then buying directly, so I don't know if that is why different in quality. My husband liked these so much he made sure I bought more when a couple pieces out of eight set chipped.

Absolutely beautiful blue and white dinner set. I did research for months before I found this set. Ordered 3 sets to have a service for 12 depending on the reviews. I usually don't write reviews but want to write it to help other buyers. It is porcelain so it is not light like bone China but each piece is beautiful and well crafted. Perfect for regular use as well as for entertaining guests. Specially cups are not just great to look at, they are the most convenient cups in my hands. I have more than 7 diner sets just to give you an idea what it means when I said that they are the most convenient ones. Traditional style at a good price. Arrived quickly and very well packed, everything is in perfect condition. Thanks overstock for keeping good stuff for passionate people like me.

I'm so disappointed. In person they are cheap looking, fairly thin-I expect they'll break easily. I found them WAY cheaper after I ordered them, but apparently the price matching is valid for certain items. Packing them back up would be a huge hassle to return them. I'll use them now that I'm stuck with them. Make sure you check these for better prices, but look around for nicer ones. UPDATE--They haven't chipped or broken, and are holding up well.
