Looks pretty, BUT....

The gate is beautiful and looks very sturdy. But it is a absolute pain! I have several gates and this one is by far the most difficult to open. I need to use both hands to open it, the second notch on the top doesn’t pull back with the top one, so I have to hold the frame of the gate to force it open. I double checked to make sure everything was square and not twisted. I’m extremely disappointed and would NOT recommend to anyone in a daily use situation.

Awful gate for wider areas!

We purchased this to keep our dog away from the from the front door. It’s a great looking gate but awful to operate. We use the gate with 2 extensions in a 48” opening. It is not screwed to the wall because we didn’t want to ruin our new paint.

excellent gate

Works well after six months. It takes some tinkering to get the gate to close and the pin at the bottom to catch as the gate swings back. I found that one needed to be careful that fieverything was perpendicular. It is a beautifully made product that, once adjusted, has taken no further fiddling. One note of caution: You may trip on the bottom brace if you do not have some way to remind yourself it is there. I used a night light to remind me. After a week or so, I subconsciously knew it was there and automatically step over it now.

Beautiful but not easy to operate

Found the double pin system at the top to be very cumbersome and confusing. The bottom pin would only release if the tension was loose which didn't seem safe to me. Bottom latch system was really hard to use and while this gate says it comes with self-closing properties, only the top latches, not the bottom. Returned it once thinking it was defective, but it turns out this is actually how the product was designed!!! Yikes. Super frustrating. Would NOT recommend

I bought two gates on Amazon. These are very beautiful and sturdy BUT they do not last. The door catch at the bottom of the door breaks very easily. Made of plastic. Once this happens the door is not as secure. It is still latched at the top but a dog can push on the gate and causes the door to open. So this imperfection is not under their help scope. I was told I need to buy two new gates. Sorry and Sadly! Well I dont think I will spend any the money on Summer gates. They could easily sell/provide a new door latch but they want you to buy a new gate. Pathetic!

Style, Function, and Safety

We love them. Functions better than expected. Secure grip to the wall even without fastening. Stylish and Safe.

Does not align - does not lock

This is a beautiful and sturdy gate. However, the gate does not align with the other parts so it is impossible to lock the door. For this price, I expected more than that from this gate.

Waste of $ no response from CS

Gate is flexible where the bar extension connects. My 15 month old pushes the weak part and the gate pops open. Also, the latch is so loose I can flick it open. Tried contacting CS 3 or 4 times with no response.

Poor Quality

I am sitting amidst the pieces, attempting to assemble the SECOND gate we got from the store. This is the second one not because we have need of 2 gates, but because the first one had to be returned. Now this second gate has the same problems. The holes where the tension bolts are to be inserted are unable to hold the tension bolts, so the bolts just slide all the way in. It is like this for almost every hole where a tension bolt goes. The first gate had the same exact problem. Very disappointing. I had high hopes but am now incredibly frustrated and am leery of Summer brand safety products if this is reflective of their quality control.

Missing parts....

I bought to contain dog in area with 59 in opening. Got this gate because it says 60 in. The small and med extension was not in the box??? Do too short not able to use gate

Broken locking mechanism

Just bought this the store, set it up in the doorway and realized the upper locking mechanism was broken. On further inspection, looks like one of the wooden pieces is cracked as well. Bummed as this gate looks great and had higher expectations.

Works well

Fits our 59 inch doorway opening perfectly. Easy to use the locking mechanism. I like that the gate will stay in an open position when needed. The gate looks nice as well.

Staying safe

We have two gates and they are working like magic. So far neither child nor dog have broken through or tried! They look nice too.

Good quality

Have had this gate up about two weeks now. Good quality as always from Summer Infant. Was a little difficult to tweak to latch easily in a 60” opening and is a little flimsy in the middle part compared with my other gates on other openings but am overall happy with it.

Beautiful and sturdy

Looks great in our home and it is very sturdy. We’ve had several people ask for a link to purchase the same gate for their home.

Looks Great, but doesn't work well

The wood door is warped (top to bottom) and doesn't auto close as it should.
