My dogs absolutely love this kibble,they were raw fed dogs since pups and unfortunately im trying to switch over very slowly. This kibble is the only one they have continued to eat. I do have to throw in a bag of the ACANA BEEF and BARLEY for a more balanced diet due , to the BUTCHERS FAVORITE is grainfree it would be nice if they could put out a butchers favorite beef with ancient grains

Not what is described

I’m usually always happy with Acana products. Not this bag. Not sure if it’s a label that’s misleading or I got a bad bag but there is barely any freeze dried jerky. If I could even find a piece it was if it was in the kibble by accident.

Chucks of uncut kibble

I dont know if I just got a bad batch or if this is a regular thing. There are large pieces of uncut kibble in a 17lbs bag I received. The kibble also seems like it's dried out. I won't be buying this again.my dog like his first bowl but wouldn't touch it after that which seem strange to be.

The kibble is inbedded & covered with hair

This is the first time I have feed Acana, I chose the Butcher's Favorites Farm Raised Beef & Liver Recipe. We used to feed Orijen 6 fish due to my female having allergy issues, and wished I never switched now, After almost feeding the first whole bag, I had added a little bit of human grade beef broth, no more than a 1/4 cup in each bowl for my aussies, when I was stirring I noticed pieces of hair all over the bottom of the bowls. I was very concerned about why there was hair in their bowls. Their bowls were washed before scooping their food so I know bowls were clean. I picked up pieces of kibble and noticed the hair is from the dogfood. There is so much hair in the kibble is sickening to me! This breaks my heart that I am paying this much for a 4 lb bag of food for my babies and it is full of dam hair. I also had just purchased a second bag this past weekend, I opened it and this kibble is also covered in hair. The bags both also have different lot numbers and dates. This is not ok! I know they are dogs and in nature they would get hair from a kill, but this is ridiculous. I'm so mad I chose this brand and it is covered in hair. Ok so what animal hair is in my dogs food???? So if any at Acana reads these reviews I would love a answer!

[Rewarded Review] Weimaraner Favorite!

Acana butcher's favorite is favorite of our dogs. I have 2 male weimaraners, that have a big appetite & slightly sensitive stomach's. This dog food has chucks of beef jerky with the dry kibble. Its real jerky. The boys love it. I also use this food as treats. The ingredients are also wholesome. What's not to love about this food. I definitely highly recommend it.

[Rewarded Review] Tasty kibble with jerky bits

Our 60 lbs GSD mix LOVES this food! She is normally not a fan of dry food and needs additives mixed into her kibble, but she scarfed this down without anything added. The kibbles are about the size of standard chocolate chips and there's a generous amount of jerky mixed in. I assumed our dog would want to pick out the jerky, but she actually eats the kibble one its own too! All of it is a tasty treat for her. Highly recommended for picky dogs!

My dogs inhaled this food! They actually ate around their normal brand of food and then went on a mini strike with their other brand because they loved it so much! I wasn’t sure how it was going to go because one of my GSPs has a finicky stomach and the other gets gas very easily. Not with this food. This was a treat to them. I am considering switching to this brand.

I received this food a week ago. When introducing a new food I was always told to mix it with their current food 4:1, then 3:1 and so on as to not upset their digestive system.

When I received this product, I was hesitant as my dogs are extremely picky eaters. I opened the bag if food up receiving it, and immediately noticed the bits of bacon! My 165 pound Boerboel immediately devoured his entire bowl in minutes! My mini Boerboel immediately followed suit and finished her entire dish. I will actually be updating my autoship to include this food going forward… I have always struggled with getting my dogs to finish, to the point that one of my dogs is losing weight. So glad I gave this a try! Highly recommend!!

Finally found a good one!

I have been through a million different dog foods. Tried to get away from Dry, for my 2 Wire Fox Terriers. Tried human grade, several canned. They just picked at their food. Tried a little beef broth on it, nope still wouldn't eat it. It seemed they missed eating dry. I wanted it to be better quality then the dry I was feeding. I researched till I was blue in the face. Came across ACANA Butcher’s Favorites Grain-Free Farm-Raised Beef & Liver Recipe Dry Dog Food. I could live with the ingredients. My dogs love it! If you have a picky eater, give this a try. They also love the little jerky pieces in it. They clean their bowls in the morning and our girl starts begging for her dinner at 2:00. They're happy, I'm happy. It's a win, win!
