They are very pretty. The wood used for the tops of the cannisters has an odor that smells like they used wood found at the bottom of a swamp. No food items can be put in them or they will get ruined. Bad purchase.

Lovely set canisters. Ideal for kitchen counter tops.

Came dented, and I am having a very hard time getting a response.

Cheaply made

I purchased these canister to put flour, sugar and coffee in but did not see that they are not food safe. 😖 They are cute but cheaply made. Some spots where the sides connect to the bottom were not sealed properly and because they are not food safe, I will be putting my flour and sugar in large baggies. The lids do not seal tightly either. They just sit on top. Note, I added the "Coffee, "Flour" and "Sugar" labels to the canisters.

This canister set isn't small potatoes

I searched a long time for just the right canisters. I wanted them made of painted metal for rustic durability, and I needed a generous size for specific needs in a working kitchen. Something that holds a pound of sugar just won't do for my needs, and I didn't want them to be marked for specific contents. That's not easy to find. My decor is less farmhouse and more european country and this canister set looks amazing with black cabinets, jumbo bar pulls and real butcher block countertops. Would look equally nice in a traditional farmhouse setting, or in any vintage decor. NOTE: The metal seam is ultra smooth and runs vertically up the side, so these can be turned around to hide the "Farmhouse" motif. Alternately, for those who like to DIY their decor, you could add a decal of your choice to the all-white smooth back side and display that instead. Truly voluminous, sturdy, simply made with the rustic finish I was looking. We use lots of onions and potatoes every week and I like to keep them in a dark dry space. I just picked up groceries so I'm not guessing when I say the large canister has 10 lbs of small and medium gold potatoes in it with room to spare. Small canister will hold 8-10 small onions (3"- 4" diameter). Medium canister comfortably holds 5-7 medium to large onions ( 4" - 6" diameter). Even larger onions could easily be finessed into the space. My husband drilled and filed 1/4" diameter air holes bottom to top up the backs so airflow is maintained to keep everything fresh. Obviously, that's not something you'll want to do if you plan on keeping more traditional staples in them. If you intend them for coffee, sugar, and tea, plan to put the whole bag/box into the canister and portion out from that as these have no silicone seals and are not designed to be air tight. That makes them fine for packaged dry goods, onions, potatoes, garlic, etc. but they are not food safe in the traditional sense.

It is great for decoration.. The lids arent made to keep anything safe of fresh. I ended up staining the lids because they were unfinished wood and appeared rough. I am satisfied because I just wanted it for decor... A bit pricey for decor.,.
