I have to return it, I ordered the wrong size by accident. I need a gate that is 36x36

36 inches tall. Why do specs say 34"

The gate seems to be good quality, but the height is 36" and that's before you add the caps to the side rails. What's the deal with that? I can't use the gate because it will interfere with the overhang of my drink rail, which is at 35" above the deck. Fortress needs to stop selling this as 34" H.

No problem with the quality of the gate; however, the manufacturer needs to learn how to properly prepare the package for shipment. All they do is wrap it in plastic which is torn during transit. 1st order, the ends of the gate were damaged severely and had to be returned to the store. 2nd order, pieces were missing. Totally unsatisfactory.

I gave this only a good because it did not come with any cap covers for the top of the gate. Two caps were supposed to be included in the package so I had to jump through hoops with Home Depot and Fortress before Fortress would agree to ship the two missing pieces. The gate itself was easy to install and it looks great.

Very happy with the two gates I bought for both ends of our deck railing. They match as depicted on the website and were easy to install. Delivery was timely and undamaged and didn't require HD's service.

Excellent quality. Drilled for J hook hinges. Heavy enough that my bull terriers can't lift it. Heavy duty. It matches my wrought-iron railings. Would buy again.

Beware that the gate doesn’t come with latches or hinges and requires that you purchase another $100+ for the latch and hinge, and have equipment to drill into the gate yourself. They don’t even bother to pre-drill the holes in the gate! Sure the website says, “sold separately” but they conveniently leave that at the very bottom of the page in small print. So I hope my 1-star review will shed light on how annoying it is to see every photo of the gate on the website have hinges and latch included, but in small print at the very bottom tell you they aren’t included!

Beautiful Gate

Bought this gate for a job we were doing in FL for a pool deck. We had to modify our opening to get the perfect fit for the gate, but it is perfect. Made well, sturdy, paint was flawless and feels durable.

Great gate and company

The gate was exactly what we needed and easy to install. The company was absolutely great to worn with. Thru no fault of theirs the gate was not delivered on time but I was able to call customer service and speak with a real person who took care of the issue and followed up. Highly recommend.

Honest! I can’t say enough, this gate was perfect for our deck attached to our pool. It matched our Trex rail system to the t and I thought the price was excellent . The city we live in has very picky standards as far as closure of the gate, so the hinges and lock fit perfectly as well.
