Quest for LED Bulbs

We like Feit LED bulbs. Have used the Soft White indoors, which we also purchased from ACE Hardware a while back. Wanted a brighter light outdoors for our sconces. The Daylight bulb met our needs, and ACE carried them as well. Very pleased.

These bulbs are bright. I was able to bring light into a second room with one ceiling light fixture. So far, the best I've had. I use two outside of my front and back doors. My criminal neighbors doesn't like it ha-ha-ha.

Very hard to find 4100k Cool White bulbs in brick & mortar retailers. Glad these are available online. I can’t comment on how long they will last, but I expect them to be as reliable as other Feit bulbs I’ve purchased in the past.

Short Life-span

Bought this bulk in a multi-pack in 2019 and I am on my second bulb. Bulb starts randomly not turning on after light is turned, just to finally light up room after about 5 seconds. Eventually fails to a soft glow and won't turn on at all anymore. Both bulbs got less than 1700 hours in the course of one year.

So far, so good. A different makers LED bulbs were going out at 6 months. I haven’t had these that long. I like the kelvin rating on these. Hard to find a white bulb that isn’t stark white (5000k) which is what is generally sold in stores.

Excellent value, great quality, awesome brand. I highly recommend this light bulb, it has nice natural white(3500K) look, so its nice bright look without hurting the eyes. Feit is a reputable brand! A+

Nice light, just the right shade so it is not that blue-white. It seems to have a longer life and better price than others. I've come to dread ordering bulbs, but these seemed a great substitute for the old bulbs.

The 4100k was the color I wanted. The arc of light was unsatisfactory. A single light bulb straight down it was acceptable. But a two light horizontal fixture - terrible shadows behind each bulb.

Poor product and poor manufacturer response. Light bulbs flicker within a month of normal use. Emailed manufacturer no response. Do NOT purchase these!

High failure rate

Unfortunately, I'll also have to chime in to the high failure rates of these bulbs. I've purchased 3 boxes in 2016 and 3 bulbs out of 24 are defective straight out of the box. They will flicker non-stop. When these goes on sale, at least it brings down the average cost per functional bulb to make it worthwhile to buy. The base also gets quite hot (too hot to touch) as well, which is surprising. So far, I have not seen previously functioning bulbs to malfunction yet; however, based on other reviews on CT, the quality of these seem to be very subpar.

Do not buy

I bought 24 of these after a full reno (so entirely new electrical system and fixtures). So far, 22 have failed. They start to flicker, turn a pale pink and there's visible discoloration (yellowing) from overheating. Most of these were not in 'enclosed fixtures'. Actually, the two that are still working are enclosed in ceiling fans. I don't understand why these are sold. Keep your receipt.

Burnout VERY quickly, don't buy

I purchased about four 8-packs of these bulbs to redo a portion of the house and after only three months 5 of these bulbs have already burned out and a few more are flickering periodically (precursor to burning out). Don't waste your money as they don't even last 6 months with periodic use. I've had good success with other brands but certainly would NOT buy feit again.

Absolute Garbage

I'm surprised how bad these bulbs are. I purchased 2 boxes and I have had to exchange 1 on warranty. I now have to take the second back as well. I'm hoping for a refund so I can stop wasting my time constantly returning these. Stay away from these bulbs.

Bulbs Fail after a few months

These bulbs are garbage. I bought two packs. One bulb was DOA. Now 4-months after install, 3 other bulbs are flickering and not staying on. I called the manufacturer (Feit) and they tell me that since I purchased these in Canada, I have to return to the retailer. But now I'm outside of the Cdn Tire return policy period. So much for LED bulbs that are meant to last 15+years. Junk!

High Failure Rate

After one year, 4 out of 8 have failed. They start to flicker and then die shortly after. The plastic base is discoloured, indicating that the base gets very hot. Not much of a heat sink and no holes for airflow. Very poor design. These are not built to last.

I bought several of these boxes on sale about a year ago. Since then roughly 1/3 have failed, flickering like a crazy strobe light. They are a waste of money. Save your money and do not buy this brand!

Having some flickering trouble

All of the bulbs worked just fine when first plugged in. However, a 3 of them so far periodically go into a dim state for a while, then perk back up. It is quite disconcerting. Two of these were in the ceiling fan, which of course means they are harder to get to. It could be that the vibration of the ceiling fan is setting them off.
