not much filter material as you can read the newspaper through it.

my filter needed changed. i have pets %26 on that sunny day i could see the dander in the air. i got my replacement filter %26 when i changedthe filter the air cleared seriously fast. i didn't realize the efficiency. it's on now 24/7.
