Mr.Ghost eats like a steam shovel.. I swear he unhinges his jaw like a python and swallow the food whole whole he eats his kibble ... then throws up. These mats have been a small miracle in that he has to slow down and chew. More food in his tummy and not up chucked on the floor.

Adorable Fish Dry-Food Mat for Cats!

We needed a dry-food mat for cats that would slow down one of our faster-eating kitties who was gaining weight, and this adorable fish mat did the trick! And our other kitties have no problem eating from it either, problem solved - very pleased with purchase so we bought another!

A little too large

Probably just my fault for not reading the description but I definitely expected this to be smaller. Not too effective for the wet food I usually use them for but I’m going to try it with the dry food

Just what I needed for my two cats, one who scarfs & barfs frequently. Have been using this for about 2 weeks now and we've only had one up truck and I think that was my fault because I gave my scarfer too much food. Wish I had purchased this a long time ago!!

Great for wet food!

I went months trying to find something that would slow down the RAVENOUS snarfing of my third kitten (adopted a year after the first two). I feed mostly wet food and most slow feed bowls are too deep, made for dog tongues or cat paws for dry food. This one is PERFECT if you feed canned food. It's shallow enough for a cat to comfortably lick all the food out and has plenty of sections and corners so they have to move around and work to get it all. I couldn't find a picture of it, but it held half a 5.5oz can perfectly. At one point even this mat wasn't slowing her down enough, so if that happens to you, try the Lickimat Slodog Feeder Plate. It's huge and lets you spread out the food into a much larger area, more or less doubling the time it took for my cat to finish her food. She's thankfully mostly grown out of the snarf-and-barfing and just needs her food smashed flat in a regular bowl now, but this mat saved my sanity for a couple years with no damage or wear. Highly recommended!

Large size

We purchased this item to help one of our cats slow down when eating. The large size allows us to spread out the wet food. So far, it has worked great! She hasn’t thrown up since she started eating off this mat.

This has really slowed down how fast our kitty eats and no longer throwing up five minutes after meals!

This may really helped my kitten slow down instead of inhaling her food in 2 seconds. Sturdy and easy to clean.

Fast Eater

Got this for one of my kittens who woofs down her canned food so fast, she gets hiccups and looks bloated. She will lick what she can but, sits and looks so pitiful that I have to end up putting food in regular bowl. Maybe she’s playing me. Good for hard food. Maybe not so much for soft.

Beware of ulcers

This worked great to slow down my gobble-everything-now cat, but after a few weeks she developed an ulcer on her lip; our vet said the ulcers commonly happen with plastic food bowls. Beware!

Seems to work

But he still vomited once. Unchewed kibble, though I may have put too much in. Made it easy for him to do scarf and barf. Make sure the compartments don't come to top. It seems to work and no problems him knocking it over or chewing on it.

Slows my boy down

This works really well for my cat. I feed him both wet and dry food and this helps slow him down so he isn’t stealing food from my other cat. It’s easy to clean. I have also had him use my dogs’ lick mats for the wet food, but this seems to work better to slow him down.

My cat eats her food in less than a minute. This has helped extend the time longer. She is a PICA cat too.

Unsafe for cats!

One of my cats chewed off and ate the corners of this slow feeder. The silicone is too soft and easy to bite off for cats, making it unsafe.

my cats absolutely hated this product. it’s honestly a pain to put food in as well.

Slimy texture adtwr a while

Used this for a few months and while it slowed down my cat at first, the areas are too small and shallow to do much and he figured out how to scarf his food down. It was also really hard to clean and not dishwasher safe, so I would hand wash it but there would be a slimy film on if afterwards so I ended up throwing it away and buying a ceramic one.
