Quality basic chair
This is a good quality chair. I have been replacing the chairs in our office with these and all that receive them really like them. They stay cool after several hours of sitting. The only drawback is the netting in the seat holds all kinds of "trash" like paper fuzz from envelopes, food crumbs from people eating at their desk. We are an agricultural office so we have a lot of plant samples come in and dry grass pieces, etc. can get caught up in the mesh this is very tough to vacuum out of the mesh. I would prefer a solid cloth seat. But in the average office environment the chair would be a nice choice.
A great task chair.
I've had this chair for a few weeks now, and it was a great buy. Good assembly instructions, the hardware screws were all top grade, and they even had extra screws just in case! Went together in about 45mins. I'm a musician, so I have to spend a lot of time practicing, a comfortable chair is a must, and the fold away arms are prefect for practice with a guitar.
Good for a basic chair!
I've had this chair for a little over 3 weeks and love it so far! The quality is about right for the price point. I'm sure you can get a much more luxurious chair for a more expensive price but this chair gets the job done. I am at my desk about 4-5 hours/day and it suits my needs well. Was pretty easy to put together. I LOVE the flip up arm rests! It helps save space by being able to push the chair in at my desk. I'd buy it again!
Squeaks terribly
This wasn't hard to put together and appeared sturdy and well-built; however, like many people, I work from home. The chair squeaks and clicks whenever I move. I'm well below the recommended maximum weight and the sounds this chair produces are loud. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone who works from home on camera or anyone who will need to work near others. It's simply too distracting. I am also skeptical that it will last very long.
Terrible.. Chair tilts forward
Chair design is poor. This chair tilts forward so you're always sliding down, and constantly pushing your body back into the chair. Causes strain on your lower back because of the way your always on the edge of this chair. It also doesn't have the ability to lean back at all! Overall this chair is extremely uncomfortable for daily office use and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
Very comfortable
The chair is very comfortable - specially, I mean:
Good chair
Very comfortable. The flip arm options are helpful. But would be better to additionally have height adjustable arms and a greater range of height options for the seat. And tilt options for the seat too. Then I would rank this as GREAT/5 stars. These desired features are something the manufacturer should want to know.
Curve on the back is low, but still a good chair.
I've just finished setting up this chair. The assembly was not too difficult and went smoothly. I was worried about the seat being too short (front to back), but it seems just fine. The chair raises and lowers smoothly and I enjoy having the option of putting the arm rests up and down.
Not for prolonged use
Bought this chair exactly a year ago and I have to change to a different one. Biggest problem for me is the lack of proper lumbar support. I have to use a cushion to support my lower back. Also the sitting surface is a bit shorter for my height so it leaves a huge surface under the legs towards the knees just "hanging". Perhaps I never noticed much until Covid when I have to work from home all day but now it has become difficult to ignore.
My black mesh office chair
I’m very pleased with the chair…and the good service I received from the telephone operator who was kind, to the shipping department who reviewed my order and took care of it. AND, when I went to pick it up someone had already assembled it for me…I appreciated that as I could not do that.
Painful to assemble
Assembly of this chair is a royal pain. The instructions are weird, hard to decipher. Common sense surely comes in to play but the pictures could be better,
Happy Camper. Great Price. Great chair. Easy.
Shipped as stated. Easy to follow and knew when it would arrive. Very easy to put together and chair is comfortable. Being able tti raise the arms all the way back allows me to be closer to the desk. This allows the economic back and seat to fully be utilized. Happy camper so far!
Great chair!!!
I bought this chair when I started working remotely. This chair is more comfortable than what I expected. I can sit on it for 8hrs, good on my back and behind. Adjustable and swivels with good back support. I suffer from slight hip pain and I can actually support sitting on this chair. It squeaks a bit not sure why, maybe it needs something tighten but other than that I’d recommend to anyone needing something comfortable. After looking at several chairs you can’t beat the price and comfort.
Instant leg pain
I had high hopes for this chair, but after a week of using it (not even 8 hours a day), trying different foot rests and positions, adding a cushion to sit on, I now have persistent, excruciating leg pain. I'm 5'9" and using the chair at a counter. As for positives, the retractable arms are great, definitely has enough seat space and fairly easy to assemble. This will have to go back.
excellent value, very comfortable
Extremely comfortable and equal to much much more expensive office chairs. Had it 2 weeks and is working well, hopefully it lasts a long time. Highly recommend and a great value. Exceeded what I expected for a low cost office chair. Having the option to move the arms out of the way is very convenient and works with different height desks or chair settings.
Love the folded arm rest.
I bought this for my 6y/o and 8y/o to use at their desk. It’s surprisingly comfortable. For reference, I’m 5’8” 140 lbs. Fairly easy to assemble. The outside packaging was a little damaged on delivery but the contents were fine inside. A very minor scratch on the wheel base. Can’t even notice the scratch. I love that the arm rest can fold up and down and push the chair closer to the desk. We have another desk chair where the arm rest are stationary and my kids are constantly banging the sides against the desk. That can drive you insane after awhile. I posted a photo comparing the 2 different chairs at the desk. This is well worth the cost. If you can, spend a few more 10s of dollars for the convenience of foldable arm rest.
Comfortable Chair!
Glad I made this purchase! This chair fits perfectly with my desk and the arm height is equal to the desktop. The seat is comfortable as well as the overall chair. Good back support and waterfall seat helps takes the pressure off my legs...I also have a foot rest which makes a difference as well. I choose the mesh cloth seat over the vinyl/leather as I felt it would be more comfortable in the colder & warmer weather.
Nice chair, comfortable
One of the few office chairs with flip up arms with mesh back and not too wide, which were my primary criteria. Some notes for potential buyers:The seat is very soft and cushy, more than my previous chair in any case. It is rather short, which combined with no seat tilt control may mean it will be uncomfortable for some people. The back really eats into the seat depth by design. If you are really wide, or very tall, you may find the back uncomfortable. The frame intrudes 2 inches into the seat, it's not like a tube frame where the mesh fabric is wrapped. It's not a problem at all for me (5'11), but I could see if my back was a couple inches taller my shoulder blades would be resting on the inside of the frame. The flip up arms are great, the height is perfect for me (they are not adjustable). They're very soft, and covered with the same mesh fabric as the seat and the back, so you'll probably want to get into the habit of wiping them down every few weeks to keep them looking fresh. I wonder how long the padding will hold out. Although the chair feels very sturdy, it will flex if you rest your body weight on the arms, if this is a habit of yours, you'll want to unlearn it or get a chair with standard fixed arms. The back does not have any recline/tilt/flex to it. Well, it does flex a bit if you lean back, but it's not mechanical, it's just the frame flexing. The mesh fabric is as one would expect, I have nothing special to say about it.The wheels are designed for carpets, they are not rubbery/grippy, so if you intend to use this chair on a hard surface, you may want to replace them with a more rubberized set. They are standard office chair wheels. Overall, the base and wheels are fine, but I replaced them with ones from my old chair. The gas cylinder is standard size, and fit in without issues. The only problem I had was assembly. One of the arm rest attachment bolts was not threaded properly, or was deformed, and it took several attempts until it would seat and screw into the right set of threads. Otherwise, assembly would have taken about 10-15 minutes. Also, the instructions are very simplified, but if you follow when picture by picture, you may be temped to attach the plate to the seat before attacking the arms. This is a mistake, one of the bolts will be blocked by the height adjustment mechanism. Attach arms to the back and seat first, then put on the cylinder base.Overall, very pleased with this chair. Read the specs and know what you are getting, as the chair doe snot have many adjustments. This chair is online only for Staples, so if you have very particular seating needs, you should always sit in a chair before you buy it.
New metal chair is all plastic
I was searching for a metal mesh chair as my last Wall Mart chair from about one month ago has already broken. The arm section just broke off one day under very light
Reviews seemed amazing, but....
It took about an hour for me to assemble, but was disappointed after as the lumbar support seems a bit low. The seat also doesn't support my legs fully and is short. I wanted to move the back up and seat forward some to compensate, but it only has up and down and rocking back and forth motion.I guess that's what you get when you pay so little. I do like the arm lifting though. It's not a $90 chair though.
