Don’t recommend!

This fireplace looks so cheap and dated it’s hard to believe it’s brand new. The display is so fake it laughable. There are way better options out there I definitely would explore those. These are the cheapest you can find for a reason

It is a realistic looking fireplace. Noise with heat on is six times lower than a bathroom fan. You can barely hear it

Touchstone Forte 40" recessed electric fireplace

This item works great and looks stunning. The flames look very real. It heats real good. I love the remote access. You can be across the room to operate it. If I don't want any heat I sometimes turn it on just to look at the fireplace. It looks so realistic. It is just nice looking.

Overall good product.

My only feedback is the fire sound device upgrade is a waste of $$. You can’t hear it unless it’s right next to you and also it’s manually controlled which defeats the purpose. I thought it would be integrated with the fireplace somehow.

We originally had a brick, traditional wood burning fireplace. I was sick of the look and needed a change!! Not to mention how much work a wood burning fireplace is. Who wants to chop wood in the freezing cold, stoke a fire while relaxing and watching a Christmas movie?! My husband built around the brick and completely remodeled our fireplace. The Touchstone Recessed 40 inch 80006 Forte makes it look so modern and love the fact that I can have the fire “burning” without the heat. It makes my living room sooooo cozy!!

3rd Times a Charm

I ordered this fireplace for Christmas and it was damaged during shipping. The brackets on the front panel were pulling off and bent on both the glass panel and on the fireplace box. Customer service was nice and quick even though it was the holidays. They sent me a new one and the second one came damaged too. The second one had the plug smashed and couldn’t be plugged in. Again, customer service was nice and pretty quick about sending out another replacement. I received my 3rd fireplace and it was perfect. Thank goodness because I was about to ask for a refund. I’m a super picky person and really would have loved a wood burning fireplace but because of air quality in our area we would never be able to enjoy it. This is a great compromise. Even my 10 year old commented that it looks pretty realistic. I just think that the company needs to consider packaging it differently for shipping. The front glass panel is just too heavy and should be in its own box.

Experience was super easy, affordable, and came without any issues. We had it for a year before we installed it and my husband as the contractor needed to be able to take it out etc & adjust as needed, no issues -easy for him. It is perfect for a bedroom or finished basement or basically anywhere.. will definitely buy another when we finish our basement rec room! Awesome, love it!!

Went from ventless gas to electric

Installation went very well. Clean and you get some heat. Not like a wood burning but very satisfying!

Touchstone Forte

We purchased a Touchstone Forte, as we were hoping for a more traditional look. I have purchased Touchstone fireplaces in the past & was impressed by the visual flame quality. Forte 80006 40" Recessed Electric Fireplace

The fireplace was pretty easy to install, we needed to do just a little framing in the old fireplace box for the new one to fit properly. It looks really nice and we haven't even tiled around it yet. We probably won't use it for heat, we just love having it on while watching tv.

Love it...but

The first glass front piece shattered when I attempted to install it. The second one shattered in transit. The third time was the charm. Touchstone immediately and cheerfully replaced both broken glass screens. Nonetheless, I love the fireplace which is perfect for my purposes. Looks great! Works well.

Positive experience to this point

Haven’t yet actually used the fireplace but have plugged it in and checked out each special and basic functions. I purchased what was being called a refurbished unit but it took looking at it very very carefully before I noticed anything. Unit was mechanically tested according to the label affixed to the box.
