I do like it ,but seems a little high for the quality compared to other high end globes .

All that I hoped for and more

My husband wanted a globe for very practical reasons, to use as a reference when he wanted to know where in the world something was located. I wanted something that was aesthetically pleasing as well. I was delighted to find the FLW inspired globes. The quality is exceptional and I love the design. So it not only serves a practical purpose, but is a beautiful piece of furniture.

More beautiful than the pictures show!

My husband had commented alot over the years about wanting a globe "like you see in studies of rich people". I never really gave it another thouht, but this Christmas,I decided to just type in "globes" to see what was available. When I stumbled onto this, it was so very wonderful, as it was just what he wanted but better, as it was something so impressive and special! And we both are familiar with Mr. Wright's reputation for his famous designs. So it truly was that unique special perfect gift. I had a little trouble deciding between this and the barrell design. But I had thought there would be a "Certificate of Authenticity" worth displaying and an actual sketch that the design was taken from, since that was a huge selling point. I wanted to frame those items so that guests could see and be informed about it. But I received nothing but little "ad cards" of his other designs, and a plain jane receipt. I am very very dissapointed about that, and wonder why they can't include that. I mean, there were tons of very attractive, cheaper globes to buy, but I was very proud of my find, and those papers would have been the "cherry on my sundae" as they say.

Wow! impressive quality piece.

My husband has commented for years, in passing, that he would really like to have one of those really nice globes "like you see in rich people's studies or offices". I never really gave it much thouht, but this Christmas, racking my brain for gift ideas, it occurred to me so I typed in "globes" expecting stuff like I saw in the class rooms all my school life. Then, stumbled onto this product by the absolutely most imaginative architect in my world, anyway, and it was just perfect!!Something that my husband truly never expected me to come up with much less remember anything about "globes" But it is so much more outstanding in reality than pics on the web. I was dissapointed only because somewhere in my crazy brain, I thought I was also supposed to get a "frameable" copy of Mr. Wright's original sketch, since it was a very big selling point, and a certificate of authenticity. I believe these should go along with the globes that are as special as this. I am very very dissapointed about that. All I have to explain why it is so special to me is a little set of 4x4 or so cards showing pics of his other designs and advertising the company, and a book about how to use my globe. But I don't want to "use" it, I just like to walk through the room, and admire it.It is truly beautiful, and Mr. Wright is an amazing man. So this was THE PERFECT GIFT, one that you are lucky to find maybe twice in your lifetime, and he was thrilled, to own a piece of history that is so impressive. As for studying it,I'm sure it is perfect for that also. But for now,it still has that WOW factor, so we just love admiring it as we walk through our living room, and smile because we think we are pretty cool!!
