A tiny bit shorter than I expected, but it's in the description. I just didn't pay attention. For over or behind a chair or sofa it would be great, Too short for standing alone, but I love it!!!!

Handsome lamps. I purchased two. Shades are white therefore the light shines through nicely. The height of the lamp is average, the same height as another floor lamp in the room. Some reviews stated the lamps are short. I believe they are average height. Works for when I read. Very pleased, priced well.

Better looking than in the picture

Really like the lamp, it was better than the picture. I have Globes and spheres decor in the room where the lamp was going, so it fit in well.

Nice lamp but short

The lamp is nice looking and good quality, but as a few others said, this lamp is short for a floor lamp and in a room with tall ceilings, it feels lost. I'm keeping the lamp for another room, but wish I would have paid more heed to the others.

We both love this lamp! Well, OK, I love it & the fiancee said "Cool" and went back to his computer game... It's very sturdy, and I love the unique armillary features, which remind me of models of the solar system - and I think that's what armillaries are. So, very solid, so dark it's really almost black, and the very bottom is covered by felt, so no scratching of wood floors. There were only 2 things I didn't like - 1 is that the cord was a bit shorter than I would have liked, but it is sufficiently long to reach a socket where I've got it, and 2 is that the shade is quite thick, which mutes the brightness of the lamp, and makes it look yellowy. The 2nd issue could be easily fixed by putting a different lamp shade on it - it wasn't too expensive a price that a new lamp shade would be a big added expense. When putting the lampt together pay close attention to the instructions - and, as you put each section together in the order directed, pull the cord out the end as much as you can - that will make the final step of screwing on the last piece much easier, as all the extra cord is not inside the pole.
