This is the second Freedom chair I've owned. The only reason that I purchased it was replacement arm rests were no longer available!

To start, I like the chair and the freedom of movement it offers when leaning or sitting. It is extremely comfortable and the gel cushion is a great addition for people who work from their office chair all day. The aluminum parts are well machined and it feels sturdy (at first). The headrest is my favorite part of this chair and is honestly one of the more comfortable I have used before. The stitching and materials they offer are also very nice, and pretty decent quality in comparison to competitors.

You could waste your money on the X-Chair and own a cheap marketing spend knock off...but if you want the real thing that will last for decades providing you the absolute best comfort and stability in office chairs in the world then look no further than the Humanscale Freedom Chair...its amazing!

This is my second Humanscale Freedom Chair since 2007. It is far and away my favorite office chair of all time. I would not have purchased a second one if it weren't! It is great looking, insanely comfortable (without putting me to sleep), has a commanding presence in my office, and is adjustable in all the ways I need. The new fabric is also much more durable than my previous model (which I still own).

Love this chair so much I bought a second one for my employee. Great, modern design for our architecture firm. No other chair works now that I am spoiled with the Freedom Chair. It provides support in all the right places and can be adjusted in many ways to accomplish that. I have replaced the arm pads on both. I think the new ones are more durable. One small complaint is that there is a pin under the seat that works its way out occasionally and I have to hammer it back into place. Otherwise, this is the perfect chair.

When you’re looking to spend as much money as this chair costs on something, you want to make sure it’s perfect. I’ve had a fantastic experience with this chair so far and have been loving it. I got the gel seat option and it’s been really comfy. I highly recommend this chair.

Every time I need a new desk chair, I buy another freedom task chair from human scale. The chairs are comfortable and support my lower back. I love all the way you can adjust it. Highly recommend.

Hands down most comfortable work chair I've ever owned. Expensive, but hard to imagine an alternative. My last one broke after 16 years of hard labor (sadly, a hair after the 15-year warranty ran out).

Ordered replacement armrests, not headrests.

I've been using now for 2 months. It seems well made and comfortable. The head rest could be higher and a bit closer to my head so I don't have to lean back to rest.

I have been working from the Home office for six years, and the Humanscale Freedom Headrest chair is the most comfortable I have ever had. I walk away from a day's work, not feeling worn out from sitting most of the day.

I'm a petite person and have had a hard time finding an ergonomic chair. This is highly adjustable and I like being able to move the arms all the way down. I docked one star as I'd like to be able to disable leaning backwards.

These are extremely comfortable chairs. I spent the equivalent money trying other chairs only to come back to this one. The quality in the fabric and plastic seems to have declined slightly, probably to maintain the price during inflation. I wish I had more options with the arms, particularly the ability to lower them beneath my desk height to be able to sit ergonomically. But compared to other chairs I’ve tried, this one is the most comfortable.

Well worth the investment and I am sorry that I did not purchase it sooner! After I bought the chair, I noticed a significant reduction in back/neck/hip pain and continue to do so!

Frame and seat are too small and tight for a 6’0” male. Wildly expensive for basic plastic and steel construction. Not comfortable for ordinary work sessions more than an hour.
