This matters protector fits my king bed mattress very well and the mattress is a thick one.The ones I've had in the past were always loose.It's soft and quilted and has a water proof lining on the inside.
When you are around pets and kids I totally recommend a cover for your mattress like this!
My cat peed on my bed and it went through cover. I paid a lot of money for this. I need a twin waterproof cover.

This is what I was looking for. It's a good mattress cover with good protection for an expensive mattress. Only qualm I have is it fits pretty large on a split king mattress which is basically 2 twin xl mattresses. That's good and bad. It needs to be somewhat loose to allow raising the head and foot of the bed but also makes it hard to keep a sheet on the bed. Perhaps there's no way around this? It seems like it could fit a little better without interfering with the operation of the bed though. Maybe some stretch panels for a snugger fit? Anyway happy with the product and price. Ymmv

Be advised
I like the mattress cover it's very comfortable but I would rather that it opened all the way around the mattress or at least halfway around it, but that's not the case. Be aware that it only opens at one end of the mattress and so you're going to have to put it over the mattress like you're putting on a long shirt.
