One lid already cracked!

I love these bowls themselves. However, the lids are flimsy and will crack or break easily.

Absolutely magnificent

This set exceeded all my expectations. Very convenient to work with in the kitchen. Very ergonomic.

The bowls are okay, but the lids broke after a few uses.

Good but lid quality is an issue

So let me start off by saying the mixing bowls are nice. It has rubberized bottom so if you are using a hand mixer and need the other hand to pour in ingredients, you won't fear the bowl moving about. You also get plenty of sizes and due to its nesting type storage it doesn't take up that much room. Now the reason I gave it the rating I did-- quite simply-- the lids. The first (yes first) set I received with the bowls smelled, like bad plastic smell that I wasn't able to wash off easily. It took quite a bit of hot water and soap work and it still smelled after drying. The hubs even commented on the smell and I often tell him he has a dead nose -- so draw your own conclusions. I don't even know if you can say the worst, but the worst, is that it cracked then ultimately split. Mind you the hubs had been using the bowl for about two weeks (2 days/week). Part of the reason for my purchase were the lids. I contacted Berghoff directly and they asked me when I purchased the bowls how I washed the lids and to send photos of the lid (just one cracked since we only used one bowl at this point). I ended up sending them a short video of the cracked lid. About 2 weeks later they said they'll send me lids (yes more than one) free of charge but that I'd have to pay for shipping. Not an unreasonable ask since they're sending me the entire set. Five to seven days later I receive said lids (all sizes) and wouldn't you know, no disgusting plastic smell. So I happily wash the lids and put away. Sadly not a happy ending. The same size lid used for the bowl the hubs takes for lunch cracked again. The hubs does not have fingers of steel and the lid does not seal the bowl like you're trying to open a new jar. Some of you might think it was user error, which I would as well if I were reading this, but I have a set from Waring for over 15+ years with lids that have never cracked (and never smelled for that matter).

Уже второй раз покупаю себе такой набор. Очень удобный ! Не скользит, крышки не лопаются, закрываются хорошо. Продукты хранятся замечательно, не напитываясь посторонними запахами.
