Beautiful Star

Beautiful star only problem is that it returns back to default setting every time you turn tree back on. Good thing I am tall and the switch cord long enough for nine foot tree, but it is a slight nuisance.

this is a large star! i bought it for my 5-foot tree, and it is to big. i placed on the windowsill, and it works great. it flashes different ways and is beautiful

Plug in was broken

The UL listed ac adapter was broken. Very disappointing.

This is a great topper for a tree that is at least 8 foot or bigger and was very inexpensive.

Cord in the way

Nice star. Wish you could choose to remove the plug. It’s a thick black cord.

No Memory

It looks nice, but every time the star comes on, it defaults to the first blinking setting. You have to click the controller 7 times to get the always on setting every time! Returning the item.

Looks pretty but has a flaw

looks nice on my tree but I unplug my tree every night or when we leave the house and when I plug it back in, the star automatically goes to an obnoxious flashing mode and i have to dig around for the clicker way up at the top of the tree to change it, every single time. It'd be nice if it started out on a neutral mode, either still lights or twinkle, rather than obnoxious flashing.

Pretty but is there a remote?

The star is very pretty. I would change the black cord to green or gold to blend in with the tree. Is there a remote to change/keep settings? I didn't have one in the box.

Fantastic 8-Function Gold Star w/ AC Adaptor

Wow. This star is significantly better than the slightly smaller, 3AA battery only operated version. This bigger star has 60 LED lights which makes this topper glow beautifully. The AC adaptor cord quite long -- there's about 28" of cord from the base of the star into the top of the inline 8-function selector, then there's another 28" of cord coming out of the selector to the plug. The 8-function light settings are: Combination, Waves, Sequential, Slo-Glow, Chasing/Flashing, Slow Fade, Twinkle/Flash, and Steady On. Be careful with untwisting the 2 ties that hold the star in the box. Also, cut the tape on the side edges of the box that holds the bottom compartment down, which is where the AC adaptor is located. Then carefully unplug the cord from the "try me" button and plug in the cord for the AC adaptor. The star itself is approx. 13" H x 13" W x 4.5"D. Including the bottom coil to mount to the top of the tree, the overall height is 15". It's stunning on a real 5' fir tree adorned with white 'n purple lights and gold/silver garland.

Large and bright

This topper is large and bright, but we had a hard time with the base attaching to the tree. The base is a wide cone and much too big for an artificial tree. We had to put a dowel along the base of our 9' tree to be able to support the topper because the top branch was not sturdy enough to hold it. I was surprised they were still designed this way, but the topper is pretty and lets off plenty of bright white light. If not for the base, it would be 5 stars.

i love the different light settings. it adds the perfect amount of sparkle to my tree.

Ok but no default setting

The star is beautiful, but there is no way to set your favorite setting as a default. So, every time the tree turns on, the lights flash and we have to physically press the button multiple times to cycle through the options to keep the lights on. Otherwise, the star looks great.

How do I leave it on without the try me thing?

The topper won’t lit if I don’t do the try me thing. How do I leave it on?? HELP

I did not know the length of the electrical cord and it does not reach the electrical outlet so I can't plug it in without using an extension cord... which the company says you should not do. It's a really bright LED white light. Serves the tree topping purpose for now, but will have to get another one with a cord long enough for my really tall tree.
