Not So Perfect Christmas Village Display Cabinet

Fully assembled wood grain cabinet with a full view locking slider front door panel. From reading other reviews, I thought this cabinet would be perfect for a Christmas village display. Three sides glass with mirrored back. Deep shelves. Electric cord runs vertically inside cabinet with plug in option at each shelf. Additional lighting above top shelf. Unfortunately, there is one major issue with this piece. It is extremely difficult to maneuver the heavy glass shelves into the cabinet and to crimp the electric plugs in place inside the cabinet with the front sliding door on. A safety stop on the front door greatly limits the opening widths on each side. I decided to call Howard Miller before trying to set up my Christmas village in the same challenging manner as installing the shelves. I was told that the safety stop on the front sliding door cannot be disengaged to allow wider access to the cabinet interior for shelf or item placement. Not good. The customer service rep said she will email me instructions on how to remove the glass sliding door to have full access to set up my display and then reinstall the door. Yikes. Unfortunately, this is not a user friendly design for set-up. Looks lovely though.

Beautiful - but...

Beautiful piece of furniture. Bought it for my dept 56 village collection and there is electric inside to plug things in. However, the mirrored back is cheaply made and not fully attached. For the price I was disappointed in the quality of craftmanship. Also, not sure where the damage occured but the beveled glass door on the front is broken in two corners. Warehouse before shipping? Damaged during shipping?

An heirloom piece. Absolutely exceptionally

I could not find any reviews on this cabinet so I really took a chance. This is an heirloom piece of furniture. There is nothing to put together. I'll add pic when I get my village pieces put in it. You will pass this down to your children.

Excellent cabinet to display special dishes, etc.

Beautiful cabinet and a great way to display dishes, etc. Only wish the door would slide a little further to each side to have better access to the middle of the shelves.

I received this piece a week early and was thrilled w/the delivery team taking such care to get it all set up for me. It was well packed and everything was perfect! I love the size of this piece. It is simple and elegant and holds all my collectibles. I am so happy I bought this item! It was exactly what I wanted!

curio cabinet

This piece is a standout in our home. Love that it holds a lot more than the picture looks and the way you can slide the doors open either way. Also, the 3 way lighting makes the ambiance in the room beautiful. A signature piece in our living/dining room.

Beautiful corner cabinet. The yellowish lighting makes the ambiance in the room very beautiful as it matches with my other items in living room. Takes some time to deliver but its worth to wait. Plus, white glove delivery and installation.

It gorgeous and so well made. I can't believe how solid it is. And the glass shelves are very high quality and beveled to hold items at the back of the shelf. WE are so happy with this. Can not wait to set it up.
