Sharp and efficient

What a handy, simple yet exceptionally designed tool! I love this corer. I’ve never used one before until this one, and I was so pleasantly surprised to see it just cut right through an apple with barely any effort. I can tell that a lot of thought went into making every part of this tool reliable and effective. This corer, and virtually every OXO product, are exactly what you need if you are sick of being disappointed by the subpar, cheap, low-effort, easily broken, and no-name Amazon kitchenware. THIS is quality, and it is worth the extra few bucks.

Best corer - clean coring and easy to use

I love OXO products. I actually had one of the Good Grips Corer's before .... before my husband found it and took it to his garage as a make shift tool without my knowledge. Not happy but I knew Kitchen Warehouse stocked them. Great product, especially if you have arthritic hands and does a clean core of apples and pears.

Excellent kitchen gadget

This has changed my life, I can enjoy apples without cutting them up to get the seeds out. It's really sharp though so be careful to store it with the handle facing you.

Expensive, but worth it 100 times over!

After being tired of so many tongs rusting, or the springs breaking or the tongs losing their closure rings…and having to throw them out cause they sit in the drawer in a permanent open position…these ones behave! They’re strong and sturdy and are built to last.

Quality tool

Good purchase. It has stayed looking and working like new. Good for apple pie when you have a lot of slicing to do and want to cut the core out in one go.

Great stainless steel weight. However the underneath sidmhe slicers aren't sharp enough to fully cut through the apple with my full weight on them. I have to jiggle and pull the slices to free them from the core.

Used on ripe pear

Works well on a ripe pear although it was not long enough for the pear. You have to core the pear from the other end too. Swirled in a glass of soapy water for cleaning the fruit end. Otherwise used soapy sponge as usual. I don’t plan to use on a Apple.

It is very easy to use.

I have used it about three times. It is sturdy and very easy to use. Just poke it at one end of the core and start twisting until it goes all the way through the apple. Then pull it out and the core comes with it. If the apple has an extra wide seed space, then you have to cut it in half and the corer will work out those seed capsules. I haven't had it long enough to know if the stainless steel will actually rust or not.

I love this thing.

My wife and I are trying to eat lighter. This corer helps. It cores apples and pears in seconds and makes them SO MUCH easier and more pleasant to eat.

It works

I bought this to replace an apple corer with parts that soon nearly became unhinged. This replacement does what I want it to do, and relatively easy, and it has no moveable parts. As with any hand-held apple corer, you have to have a strategy to aim and push it through the apple. And it has to be sharp enough without too much chance of cutting yourself. This one works. Simplicity is always best. If I would change one thing, it would be for the manufactirer to add a removable cover for the top cutting edge.

Works great! I never thought I needed an apple corer, and here we are. This works really well, it's sharp and heavy. The diameter is a little small, but you just push it through the areas around it. Works for other fruit too, tried it on pears.
