Love my Green Pans!

I added this one to my set that I have of Chatham Green Pans. Having allergies, these pans are the best for me to use so far. You do need to be careful and read the instructions well before you use them so you don't ruin the non stick finish on them. If you follow the directions they are wonderful to use and so easy to clean. They do take a little bit to heat up but once they do you keep them on lower temperatures as they hold the heat very well. I like this as it really saves on my utility bills. Most cooking is done on medium to low with these pans. These pans have lasted longer than other pans I've purchased in the past and still look new. I cook everyday with them. Be careful about the bottoms if you don't have a glass stove as they will scratch the bottoms if you move it across the burner.of a regular stove or gas stove. I messed up my frying pan that way before I got my new glass stove. They are strong and a few scratches on the bottom are no big deal unless you hang them up in your kitchen. They fit wonderful on a glass stove too. I've had other brands and they don't sit as well on the glass surface. I would only recommend putting the lids in the dishwasher as some of the non stick finish can come off if you use some dish washing detergents. They are so easy to wash you don't need to put them in the dishwasher. I don't recommend using Dawn as that is hard on the non stick surface and go with a more milder dish soap. Since I switched my pans are looking better. If you have problems with your pan or think you've ruined it, call the company. They have wonderful customer service and they actually helped me save a pan I was going to throw out that I thought I ruined. The inside finish is a medium gray, and the outside is a dark, flat mat, gray. The handles have like a smooth nickel finish look for the stainless steal handles. I have an allergy and was worried about the handles but they are using good quality and so far no reactions to it. The handles on the lid sit up high enough you don't burn your hands like on some pans and they don't get too hot. I've picked them up without pot holders before and they were just really warm but not hot. I still use pot holders just to be safe. If you are using old non stick pans you will really notice a difference in the taste of food which is so much better with these new pans. Don't use any cooking sprays on these pans, just a dab of cooking oil is fine. If you like to fry and sear meat they have other lines of pans for that type of cooking. This pot is for more water based cooking. I love these pans and always recommend them to my friends as they are free of PFOAs, lead, and cadmium. That makes them a winner in my book.
