I LOVE the visual design of this rug. It is absolutely beautiful and also super comfortable underneath your feet. The biggest con and reason for the low rating is the unbelievable and excessive SHEDDING that occurs and continues to occur even after a year and a half of use. If you sit on the rug you get carpet fibers on your clothes. I vacuum with a roller brush, without a brush, on high suction, medium suction, low suction - none of that matters. The shedding does NOT ever stop. The rug must be vacuumed about every other day. It is NOT in a high traffic area. We do not wear shoes on the rug.

This rug is so sweet! I bought it in a round for a nursery I did for a client. The color is a really soft pink and cream… just right for a little girls room. The quality is great as I always find with a Safavieh rug. It’s a nice weight and thickness so on hardwood floors, it didn’t move around too much although I did add a pad just to be sure. Shipping was quick.

Tick, beautiful colors, shadding, red color stains

Beautiful rug, very tick, nice to touch and true colors like on picture. The coins are: ( expected) that is shedding, how much it depends of activity, but that is no problem for me. ( Not expected ) the rex color is bleeding a lot so all socks or clothes on knees is stained. I trains my 3 year old to not play on red spots and she's good with that. I gave 4 stars for the red color bleeding but I still love that rug.

Gorgeous but smelly

Bought this fun rug in cream and black for our nursery. It’s gorgeous and well made. Perfect for our cream and black theme. There are only 2 downfalls: the smell is quite strong (it literally took 3 months to finally be rid of it) and the black part of the rug does shed quite a bit. I’m hoping that with some more consistent vacuuming, this will no longer be a problem.

We purchased black/white option. I love this rug and it is perfect for our little boy's nursery. We get so many compliments on it. My only note to the potential buyer is that this rug sheds regularly. If you keep up with vacuuming, it's not a problem ... but if it's in a high traffic area the black will shed into the white and make it look dirty. Again, not an issue if you vacuum regularly but could be off putting if you're looking for a low maintenance rug.

Attractive but horribly made and impractical

Bought this and another similar rug from the same company in the same order. Both deserve the same review. Horrible. This rug is very handsome but is very poorly made. This rug has filled my sons bedroom and our entire second floor with the shed fibers from the rug. It’s everywhere and this is after 3 weeks and multiple vacuums. Also I didn’t realize from the picture but the off white portion is raised which makes the rug impossible to vacuum well because of the different heights!! Horrible product. Everyone is itching and breathing in the fibers being shed. Returning or throwing it away.

Such a beautiful rug!

Simply an exquisite rug! Looks exactly as pictured -- only more beautiful in person:) Best to follow instructions especially with handmade wool, let it lay around and air out couple days, then following the nap, vacuum with highest setting (no beater bars) to shed off some of the wool fluff. This is the fourth handmade woolen Safavieh I have purchased within past 6 months for myself and my toddler granddaughter's room at home. I cannot say enough positive regarding at least all the ones I have purchased, the quality is phenomenal, the workmanship as well and they are full of whimsy and make me smile -- and so affordable! This one is 3 x 5 and unfortunately half of it has to be under a love seat...but it still makes me smile:)

Overall this is a fantastic rug for the price. Love the pattern and it is very thick. The white parts are thicker than the navy so stick up a little bit taller. I don't have a problem with it, but my mom has commented when she comes over about how she feels like it could be a tripping problem. I think that's a bit dramatic as it isn't that bad, but my biggest gripe is that since the white pattern sticks up further, it makes vacuuming more difficult. The white pieces have shed a small amount, and I can never vacuum them all up because the brushes on my vacuum can't get all the way down to the navy rug near the more proud white parts. So it never looks perfectly clean, but it is hard to notice until you get close to the rug. I've had it now for 20 months and it still looks amazing and has held up great. Perfect for our nursery!

I love the pattern and the quality is excellent, the only thing bad I can say is that if you have a cat, and he is a hopeless rebel about scratching rugs, the loops on this run will leave you wanting to cry...It is still looks pretty nice as you can see from the picture, but although the little guy is well behaved and just the sweetest in every other way my battle is hopeless so I'm signing him up for RSA - Rug Scratchers Anonymous. I'll take a crochet hook and pull some of the broke loops back, but I don't dare try to buy another for my room. I'd love to buy a new one now to save for when this one is done for, and maybe I will...He and I will continue our rug war, but unfortunately, he's winning. It doesn't matter on my other rugs, they aren't looped, I'll have to take that into consideration next time because my little RS isn't going anywhere :) Other than that, the pattern is beautiful, it has paisleys!! and it looks great with greens (my comforter and curtains), it's even easy to vacuum, soft and looks handmade. Plus it's just cheery and fun. I guess some of us never grow up, I won't lie, it isn't for my kids' room. Anyway, great deal for the quality...bad kitty!

As soon as I saw this rug I knew I had to have it. It looks even better in person! It shipped super fast and was at my front door in no time. It was incredibly well packaged (double wrapped, no stains) and easy to unwrap. The quality of the rug is amazing (thick and comfortable). The ivory and black makes such a bold statement in my morning room. I have received so many compliments on it! I would highly recommend! EDIT: Other users comments are accurate about the black material shedding were accurate. I don't normally wear shoes on the carpet so it was never a big deal, but after a party, it was VERY noticeable. It is easily removed by vacuuming.
