disappointed - not water proof

to say i am disappointed would be an understatement - bought the 165-gallon (model #60460U) deck box at Costco in September . it was extremely difficult to but together - and certainly could not be done by one person. i found the directions lacking and confusing. i could not gas springs to connect correctly and then when it was finally put together, i discovered it is not water proof and every time it rains i get water in the box, making it useless for what i bought it for.

Diagram appears to have the locking bar installed upside down which causes locking clamps not not align. Also, screws go in at an angle that is difficult to fully engage with the plastic.

Smart Storage Box

Looks great in the garden, loads of storage space, assembled it on my own. Didn't encounter any problems. Moves easily on fake grass. Have had some torrential rain and the box is dry inside.

Warped lid

I bought this deck box install was so so however the lid is already warped. I have had the box for less than a week. I’m at a loss because I wanted this for cushions and some pool stuff. Not sure what I am going to do with it now.

Very poor design

Bought and assembled and will return. First, a warning, as this model requires a 3 inch space behind it to allow the opening of the lid. It will not fit flush to the wall. The left side piece is warped, lid will not fit flush, and the design of the hasp for locking purposes won't allow proper room for installation of fastners. Won't let me add photos.

Bad service

Bought this product 6 weeks ago. Fairly easy to assemble but unfortunately the gas shocks are defective. I called customer service and was told I would receive a replacement in 2 to 4 weeks, so I waited. Found out today that it will be another 10 weeks to get the part. The bad thing is it’s for the most part unusable. Customer service was of little help. Will not buy from this company again.

Very good quality storage box.

Straight forward to assemble with two people. The only chewy part was the bar and latches, definitely need a electric power driver and sockets to make it easier, but it's a great quality item.

Large & sturdy

I’ve given this 5 stars, but 4.5 would be more accurate. We are using this as storage on our balcony. The box itself is large, and the materials seem good quality for the purpose. Having a gas lift for the lid is excellent. However the assembly was not without problems. Firstly it required tools we don’t have. Secondly, the screws for a metal part of the structure simply would not fit through the holes. The thread would not fit and was being broken. Fortunately we had some other screws which worked well. Overall we are very happy with the size and condition of the box.

I left a review saying I would have given this 5 stars but there was a damaged bolt which then ruined the screw.

Really good apart from . . .

This garden storage box seems really good, a generous size and I'm sure I would have given it 5 stars apart from 1 thing. One of the bolts was malformed and this was only noticed when trying to use the screw with it. It caused damage to the screw thread so neither is usable. Everything else worked well and fitted.

[Rewarded Review] Mix of METRIC and US sized bolt heads causes problems in constructing box!

I recently purchased one of these deckboxes and completed its construction mostly alone ( I am an 80 yr old woman). I gave this only 4 stars because of the difficulty with screw and bolt sizes. Had I not had experience building previously I would not have thought to check the sizes of the bolt heads which I found to be METRIC in size. It appears that some of the hardware is US and some is METRIC. One in particular is 10mm. Once this size was established it was fairly smooth sailing.

Beautiful, durable, and SO much storage! Impressive!

This is the outdoor storage box I've been waiting for!! I wanted something with a ton of storage, that didn't look like to total eye sore in my yard and of course Lifetime comes out with something that hits both!
