Easy installation
I bought two of these to put side by side. Because they were smaller, the installation was very easy. I was able to put them together by myself. There are small gaps in the back top corners. I don’t know if this is for ventilation, but if water comes in, I plan on filling them with silicone. I was concerned with all of the installation issues with so many other sheds. Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised. I built a good level base with gravel and I think that helped.
Biggest Issue is Disposing of the Box
The product went together easily despite a few cloudy spots in the instructions. Overall it has a very impressive fit and finish and the end result looks and functions very nicely. A few tips for those considering it: 1. Do pay attention to the requirement for a sturdy base for it to sit on. 2. Be SURE to have it delivered to your door rather than try to pick it up from Sam's. The product, in box, weighs almost 200 lbs and cannot be handled by one person. 3. The most difficult part of the project was disposing of the box after assembly so be sure your trash bin is large enough to handle all the cut up cardboard and have a sharp box cutter handy.
Suncast Upright Shed
We purchased the upright shed in the spring of 2024 to store a portable generator. Living close to the Galveston coastline, I was concerned about how well this would stay together in high winds. When hurricane Beryl headed this way, I was concerned about tying it down so it wouldn't blow apart and away. It is sitting against a wall between two buildings that are 15' foot apart, so we didn't get it tied down. Hoping for the best. We didn't get a direct hit but got the dirty side and winds uprooted many very mature trees in our neighborhood.I wanted to post a review on how impressed I was that this shed didn't budge. I was impressed how sturdy it was and stayed together through such high winds of a Cat 1 hurricane. Plus, it's very eye pleasing to use for extra storage.
Buyer Beware-Quality Issues & Suncast doesn't care
Reasonable shed for the cost. But the quality is questionable. I have two. First one installed and works like a champ. Second one that was built on the exact same platform in the exact same location as the first one does not square up (meaning the doors won't close) without major shimming effort to square it up. Moved first one back and it works fine as it always did. First one works fine in its new location 90 inches down the same platform (with no shimming in either location).
Affordable, customizable, weather tight.
Sam's Club definitely has the best price on this shed. Picked it up in store and had it put together in a few hours on a deck I had made for it the day before. The instructions are frustrating, and some things like installing the hinges are a real pain. But everything is thoughtfully engineered and the inside of the shed is easily customizable with shelf and hanger options. There are a couple spaces where daylight can be seen in the top back corners, I used one to my advantage to run a wire for a solar light out to it's solar panel. I had some 1x12 pine and made a quick shelf and even though it spans almost 6 feet there is no sag thanks to the molded-in lip built in to the back panels. We've had a couple of heavy downpours and the inside is bone dry. Was thinking of getting a second one to put on the patio and make into a bar area. Thanks Suncast and Sam's!
LOVE IT. Great Size for Small Outside Garden.
I had been looking for a garden shed for over a year, and was starting to believe, I would never find one I like and one that fit my outside space, until I saw this one and read most of the reviews.
This shed was very easy to put together and looks good. For a platform, I opted for ground contact lumber rather than concrete as there's a good chance I'll decide to move the shed to another part of the yard and cement seemed too permanent. Dug out an area a few inches deep, put down weed barrier and layer of pea gravel, then sunk the wooden platform/base and filled in the dirt around the outside.
Does the job
The shed went together in about an hour and a half. It does take two people, mostly because the second person needs to hold a piece up for about 30 seconds while another piece is put in place. There were a few moments where we had to juggle things a little bit, get the pieces together. All of the screws for this are plastic, with the exception of the screws to hold the hinges in place for the doors.
I will buy a second shed as my needs expand
A good shed at a reasonabe price ($399). The fit of the walls and roof are not perfect due to design and mass production approach of the shed, but it does not leak in light storms. I purchased 10 corner brackets and about 40 additional screws to reinforce the floor and all corners to sinch tight any joints and connections. I think this shed should be able to handle Texas storms but have not had a hail storm yet to verify that level. The roof appears sturdy, but be careful on touching as it quickly gets hot in the sun on an 80+ degree day. The doors, hinges, and locking mechanisms are well designed and very pleased with their operation.
We Put this shed up in an afternoon
. My husband I (both in our late 60s) put the shed up in an afternoon. Approximately 4 hours from start to finish. We did take a break so someone younger will probably do it faster. Was super easy. Just followed the direction. We had previously prepared a base out of 2 by 6s, According to the one line directions. The shed seems sturdy and is very attractive. Was the perfect size to fit some equipment that had been cluttering up our garage. Our neighbors have even commented on how great it looks and how unobstructive it fits on the side of our house. Definitely worth the price.
Great size
It's a great size shed. Assembling it is easy and intuitive, and in addition pretty detailed in the manual. Design is very well made, with plenty of upgradeability and functionality how to slice and dice the space utilizing it even further with or without additional parts from suncast or just use of any standard parts.
ALL-IN-ALL, NICE SHED
Like the size and that it fits pretty inconspicuously against the outside back wall of my garage. Took me about 2 1/2 hours to assemble by myself, but I took my time and first watched the Suncast YouTube video on assembly. Keep in mind that when the roof is flipped over - to install the 2 metal support bars - the instructions state to keep the small hole in each of the two bars to the right side of the roof. No, when the roof is upside down the end of the metal bars with the small holes go to the left. Only other comment is that there are small gaps between the roof and the back wall, and also between the roof and the front doors. Probably try to fill in those gaps with expansion foam.
WAY overpriced for cheap materials!!!
I FINALLY got this delivered about a month after I ordered it. I bought it based on reviews, but I honestly can't imagine why anyone would rate this higher than a 2!
Pretty sturdy, lots of room
Relatively simple to assemble. Most of it is a one person job, but a couple areas I really could have used a helper. A couple places where the instructions could have been a bit clearer, but some common sense and reasoning got it done. Reasonably well built. Fits a lot of stuff. Installed on a pre-existing cement slab, which saved time over building a base for it. I filled in a couple of gaps between the roof and the rear corners, just for a little extra protection, hopefully it helps. All in all, a pretty solid unit. We’ll see how this winter goes!
Great Value
Bought this shed for the price point and size and was afraid it would be super flimsy. On the contrary, it is surprisingly sturdy and the instructions were one of the most clear set of instructions for assembly I've ever had. Detailed and with excellent verbiage and illustrations.
Great Size Shed / worth the time and money
This is a great sized shed. Lots of room and easy to put together if you take the time to read the instructions and make sure whatever foundation you put it on is level to start with. 2 tool racks came free with the shed and fit perfectly on the walls. Shovels, rakes, hoe and other yard implements hang right up out of the way. The carton was loaded in the bed of a Sierra pickup, tailgate up and bed cover closed - perfect fit. My son slid the carton out, stood it on end and walked it into the garage. I put it together myself with help setting the roof and doors on. It's sturdy and looks great. Nice sale price.
Loving our Shed! It is Perfect!
We can't have a 'shed' in our neighborhood but have been searching for one that isn't too big, but something that can hold what we need, plus not be seen over the fence! This is Perfect! Holds all those tools we use in the yard that get lost laying them down here and there after a long day in the yard. The shelves are very helpful, it is weatherproof which is really what we need too so the tools don't rust. This is the best one we have found and the price was the big sell!!! You can't go wrong with it. It is very sturdy, the door has a hinged 'bolt' that you can lock it at the bottom of the two doors and a place in the handles to add an actual lock if needed.
Watch the Video's!
Nice Shed. Seems like it will last a long time.
Good Shed, right size, good price
Purchased this shed a month ago, and did a pickup with no issues.
Good Shed/Great Value
This shed is a great value for the money spent in comparison to other makes and models currently for sale. Shipping was efficient, however it was left in our driveway and it is exceptionally large and heavy. As we could not move it ourselves we took the items out one by one to bring to the backyard. As others have stated the instructions are not the best, therefore plan on approximately 1.5 hours to clearly read and assemble. With that said, once we decoded the instructions it was fairly easy to put together. I'd recommend 2 people for the job as as the roof and the sides need to be held in place and connected. The doors are a bit jenky and don't seem to be level, despite our levelling out the ground space that it covers. Overall it is sturdy, looks great, and offers ample room inside for storage including lawn care items, garden tools, pool accessories, and other common backyard items. The 2 organizer/hangers are a plus, but we would have preferred more accessories to be included, like shelving. As I did research I could not find any information regarding add-on accessories to be purchased in addition for this model. It would be helpful to know if there are any shelving/accessories that are compatible with this shed to optimize storage configurations. Since it appears that other reviewers have DIY'd to optimize the storage and add shelving, etc., that's probably what we will do. We have had heavy rains and it has held up with no water on the inside. Overall it offers a lot of bang for your buck and is a 4 star item.
