Reviews

The description of this item was incorrect. It does NOT have storage. It is NOT polyester twill, it is faux leather. Therefore it wasnt what I wanted. If its what your looking for its nice. Quite large.

Hesitated to give this ottoman a negative review because it's so attractive, but decided other potential buyers should be warned. The hardware for this unassembled furniture piece is sewn into a flimsy pocket behind the canvas underneath the seat. There's a zipper for access, but the pocket material is so thin that it burst in transit -- releasing 16 bolts and 4 chrome legs inside the guts of the ottoman to rattle around. I had to stick my arm through the rip in the pocket to grope around inside for all the loose pieces. Finally I extracted 15 of the 16 bolts and the four chrome legs (one badly scratched from rumbling around). I also picked up two nasty splinters and a got a nail or staple driven 1/4" under my middle fingernail. The minute this thing drew blood I asked Overstock to send out a fixer to find the missing bolt (I could still hear it rattling around inside but couldn't shake it out). They could only offer to send a replacement -- and said I was the first and only customer to make this complaint. The replacement arrived today, and whaddaya know? Exact same thing happened: inner pocket burst, hardware rolling around inside the guts, won't shake out. I'm now assuming this is either a major design flaw or these ottomans are intentionally designed for some kind of two-bit smuggling operation. This time Overstock offered a partial reimbursement if I can find a local furniture upholsterer to remove the bottom canvas, extract all the hardware and replace the canvas. That's better than nothing but beside the point of this review. Anyone considering buying this ottoman should be aware of the potential inconvenience of having to make these repairs themselves. And by NO MEANS stick your hand through the ripped pocket trying to find the loose parts. You made need a Tetanus shot right before the day is done.
