This photo sensor works great. I was able to drill through the exterior wall and wire the photo sensor to the switch on the interior without any problems. I mounted the sensor and cover plate on a standard pop-in box. It looks great and functions great. I don't have to remember to turn the outside ceiling lights off and on every day. The photo sensor doesn't turn the lights on till dusk and turns them off at sunrise.

This dust to dawn light control switch is a excellent choice for easy install, reliability and clean look. It is not a relay switch. It is a direct wire 110V switch. This makes it easy to wire with just one 14/2 wire and mounts in a standard single gang in wall electrical box. It Includes a weatherproof wall plate and neoprene gasket. I love even the idea of this product, and this particular version is great - simple, clean, and functional. It mounts to a standard one-gang electrical box, and provides a set-it-and-forget-it solution to lighting a back doorway area, a breeze way, a post lamp, or any light that you just want to be on when it is dark. The instructions are clear and complete.

Great photo sensor to control the large lights on our garage door wall, which we used to leave on all day and all night. With this, we can leave the wall switches on, but use the dusk to dawn capability to avoid wasting bulb life and electricity during the day. Wiring these is a breeze, as long as you have a neutral in the box. We mounted our unit below one of the two lights we are controlling and were able to pick up the switched hot running to the first light in the series from a switch right behind our outlet. Since our house has yellow siding with white trim, we opted to mount the unit in a white exterior box and replace the supplied gray pate and gasket with a white plate and its gasket. We mounted this right below one of the lights we were controlling, so we also bought the optional light shield (see pictures) to keep the sensor from getting confused by the light. It would be nice if this was included, but they do supply adhesive cover shields if needed, but they cover only the front and we needed light blockage from the top. It works great and looks great. We now have 4 Intermatic photosensors, all of which are different as they are used for different use cases, but all of which work really well. We're very pleased with this unit and at this price point, definitely recommend it.

This Intermatic thermal photocontrol is absolutely perfect for my application. It powers the circuit from dusk til dawn. Also, it fits into a standard single gang box. And, it's waterproof. I was looking for something that would automatically my outdoor security lights on and off without me having to remember to do so. And here we are. Literally just what I was looking for. I couldn't be happier.

I have a couple of coach lights on my house and since there are no street light in the neighborhood, I like to leave them on at night. Too often I have either forgotten to turn them on, or left them on all day which is a huge waste of electricity. With this photocontrol, I don't have to think about it at all, it is all automatic. this switch fits in a standard single gang electrical box and is quite easy to wire. It is a perfect solution to outdoor lighting.

The Intermatic Lighting Sensors are very reliable. I know that since I have been using them on several projects before. I tested this K4000 Series 1800-Watt Fluorescent/Incandescent Wall Mount Dusk to Dawn Light Control and it works fine as it is intended to do. This particular photoelectric sensor switch is more powerful than the previous ones since it is able to control up to 1800 watts of power at 120 volts, AC.
