I have few regrets in life....this is one.
I am disappointed and frustrated. Product arrived quickly and packed well.
Great little house
This is a great little house and run. It is easy to construct and to clean. It's only problem for me is that the wood slats in the nest boxes have gaps and as we use shavings, they fall through the gaps. It is suitable for small birds like silkies but not for larger chickens. Perfect for pet chickens. It is very good value for money and delivery was fast.
Find something else, this ain’t it
Quality not great, I could probably snap these boards with my own hands. And then putting the roof together was not fun and I’m really handy and still struggled with it.
Cute coop, will not buy later
The chicken coop is super cute - looks exactly like the photo and extremely easy to put together. It took no time at all and was easier than any piece of furniture I have ever assembled. That being said - it is way smaller than I was expecting and that was a bit of a disappointment. I’m hoping it won’t be too small when my chickens are full grown. We will see. I wouldn’t keep more than two chickens in here. Maybe 3 of the mini breeds. The tray is easy to clean, but the rest is a bit hard to scrub chicken poop off of. I’m not sure how I feel about the bottom of the lay box yet. It has slats and I worry about it being a way for a predator or even a snake to get through. So I am going to most likely - figure out a way to fix that. All in all - I don’t think it was worth the price. I would probably go for a different brand if I ever get another. It also came slightly damaged.
My duck house
I now own two of these houses for my eight ducks I have found through the first year of having this that it was extremely durable, reliable, easy to clean. The ducks are help, healthy, and comfortable in these houses. I highly recommend them also easy to put together.
Great Coop for Bantams
This is a great little coop for bantam chicks/chickens! Ours are extremely content in it. The easy pull out tray inside the coop makes cleaning up food/water spills convenient. Easy to put together (our children helped even!)! Recommend getting one if you’re looking for a space saver for your backyard.
Cute little coop
We loved putting our coop together. It was easy. We did study the instructions first and followed the numbers on each part. The insulation can be improved. The roof top can definitely be different. Without caulking or glue it comes off and will definitely leak. I don’t think it will last, but for a starter is ok. It was delivered within 24 hours.
wouldn’t recommend but okay
The biggest problem with that it came without instructions. Several of the holes were off and so we had to figure out kind of how to make it. Work hours is put together and works okay but I definitely wouldn’t recommend buying it and I certainly wouldn’t buy another. I did manage to find instructions on another website, but they were just pictures instead of actual instructions. I’m not sure how long it’s going to stand up. Feels a tiny bit flimsy to me but it’s fine for now.
Very cute, works great for rabbits!
I have two of these hutches, one is about a year and a half old, the other I've had about 6 months. While the roof was a PITA to put together the first time, the second one went much smoother. The hutches are holding up fine under a covered canopy, with the exception of the metal trays. We just pulled the hutches out to scrub them, the trays are pretty much rusted out and one has a big hole. Easy fix though. I'm happy with these hutches, we have/have had 6 other ones, and these have held up as well as anything else in this price range. Contrary to one of the reviews my rabbits have not eaten them up yet. A little ivory soap rubbed on the edges solves that issue.
THE ROOF SUCKS!
Everything went together perfectly! Except the roof!!!!! The roof never matched up correctly and we werent able to assemble the roof at all. Other than the roof it was great.
This roof is poorly constructed and missing pieces
I need to return this product, horrible built, cheap material and too small . wood cracked , my chicken died because the roof was leaking from heavy downpour throughout the night. The coop wiggles and unstable for any movements .
fine- but not easy
We had a lot of trouble getting things to match up. One or more screw holes weren’t drilled so it made putting what’s supposed to be prefab together. The roof was an absolute nightmare to put together. If you do buy, put together where you plan on keeping it indefinitely. We had to move it about 5 feet and it compromised the integrity of the coop yard, even from that short of a move. I am considering sending it back, because we haven’t trusted using it for any of the chickens we originally bought it for.
Chicken coop
I like our chicken coop but be aware it came with no instructions. There was no scanning code to get it online either. We did the best we could and I believe it’s correct.
Horrible!!!
Please, please, please do Not Purchase this!!! If I could give it a negative infinity I would. Horrible design... impossible to put the roof on properly unless you're an octopus, roosting bars break, leaks, won't latch properly, bedding gets stuck in cracks, poor ventilation, starts to fall apart almost immediately!!! I will never buy a PawHut product again. And Chewy, you need to discontinue carrying this coop because it's a sub-par product.
Amazing hutch, perfect for indoors and out.
Great Cat House
I'm using this for my cat. I let her out during the day and put her up at night. She sleeps in the nesting box, food and water in the middle section, and litter box in the screened section. Works great! Easy to clean and she loves it. Very attractive to boot! Warning: You have to have some serious tinker toy assembly skills to figure out how to put the roof together. The instructions aren't particularly helpful.
5 Stars
My rabbit is king of the farm in this house!! Absolutely love the side door opening, lift up back. Perfect for 2 bunnies. Might be small for multiple chickens I would think. Worked for us, we love it!
Run, Run from this Chicken Home
Do not purchase this item, it is listed as a chicken coop but is not suited for any animal. In the one month that I have had this item it has started to deteriorate. The wood is absorbing moisture, even after taking 4 hours to put it together correctly and with care it is shifting and separating from the wood breaking down, the roof material is flaking off and swelling up from the wood below. I would love to return but fear that taking it apart would end with it in bits. Even if this home did stay together and wasn’t made of thin, cheap materials, the size and shape is not conducive to chickens once put together. There is little ventilation, only a small gap where the roof comes together. The nesting area is too low, the roosting sticks are too low, the run is taken up by the fold down door and leaves little room for even a single chicken to live. It is just a disaster and I am out 200 dollars and will have to build my own chicken house. Buyer beware!!! Do not purchase!!
My 3 Hens Love It And So Do We!
Cute little house. Roomy for our 3. Could easily add a 4th chicken. 5 would be the limit. We use it as their sleeping/ nesting quarters. We left off the run portion because we have it inside a large wire enclosure. Good quality and sturdy. A great deal for the price. Recommend a mechanically inclined person assemble to avoid frustration. My machinest husband assembled and he had to drill a few holes and straighten up a few "off-set" areas in the roof. Some of the directions are vague. But, once it was together the chickens checked it out immediately. I looked at dozens of houses we could afford and this was a great fit. Would buy again. :)
4 Stars
This is very cute and my chickens like it. There are no vented places for the hotter months, though, so be prepared to correct that. The instructions weren't easy to follow but I put it together alone and managed in one night.
