Beware -- it will break!

It worked fine at first but after a short while it snapped and was unusable. We wrote to complain that this was a lot of money for an item that didn't work very hard or very long but Joseph said tough luck -- they weren't responsible. What??? It's their item and it was shoddy. I won't buy anything marked Joseph in future.

NOT an efficient garlic crusher.

I read all reviews before buying but have been disappointed. I can see that for someone with arthritic hands this tool may be good. However, at least a third of the garlic is left inside no matter how hard you twist - it simply lacks the compression to push all the garlic through. I always have to get a knife and scrape out remainder and chop. I think I will have to shelve this until my hands can no longer cope with a traditional crusher.

A Great Kitchen Gadget

I use this garlic press just about every day. It cleans easily, drys quickly and is very easy to use. Just align the two reds dots and turn. I love it and would buy more as it works on other food items for cooking such as other aromatics. A must have in kitchen, if you are a serious cook.

Original design performs well

This garlic press is easy and comfortable to use, plus easy to clean. There is often some garlic left in the press that I put through again, or simply add to the dish as it is usually finely shredded.

Making garlic mince easy!

Super easy to use and clean. I don't like chopping up garlic, so this had made is much easier. It feels very sturdy, and looks like it'll last for many years.

Not squeezing properly

The inner connection peace doesn’t completely cover the inside of the outer connection, making garlic, come out through the sides and having to squeeze them multiple times.

Wastage.

Waste of money and draw space. There's wastage and you have to keep putting through the last bits of garlic. I don't think the twist design makes it any easier to crush the garlic. I dont know if it would have been any easier if it came with the cleaning tool to remove the skin and last bits of garlic. No gadget chops garlic better than a knife.

Nifty

This is easy to use and clean unlike the other rocking-style garlic presses. So impressed with it that I might even get the potato ricer as well.

Easy and efficient

Minimal effort to use, and easy to clean. No more struggling with my old garlic press, which was hard work to use and a nightmare to clean.

The BEST garlic press

I bought this as a gift. I have bought - and broken - a LOT of garlic presses over the years, but this is far and away the BEST. I have had it for at least 6 years and it's still as strong and effective as the day I bought it. Highly recommend.

Easy to use

This do the job perfectly. My old 81 year old hands are losing their grip but not with these. I find them very easy to use. I also have the potato ricer and the citrus squeezer for the same reason

Loved it!

I am in Canada and I found this garlic press in a boutique while vacationing in another city. I loved this garlic press am on a mission to find another place near me to buy this as recently the knobs on the inside of the press broke. I suspect we put too much garlic in repeatedly. I won't make that mistake again because this was by far the best press I have ever used!

Brilliant gadget

I have to accept that I am growing older. So useful aids in the kitchen are essential. This is one I have found to be brilliant. Easy to use and easy to clean. A must have.

Ergonomic garlic press

Much easier to use than other garlic presses I've tried previously, quite comfortable and requires less force than the typical presses. On the downside, garlic sometimes gets a bit stuck and then you need to unscrew it to move the garlic around before pressing again. Cleaning it is also a bit annoying due to the multiple parts and deep well. Good option if you have hand/wrist pain with other standard presses, but if not there are probably better options out there.

Disappointing

I had high hopes for this garlic press, imagining that it would be very efficient and easy to use. Sadly it didn’t live up to expectations. It only pressed out half of the garlic and the other half was left flattened in the base. It was far less efficient than my old metal press.

Effective, well made and easy to clean

it's rather pricey but it does an excellent job of crushing garlic and is fairly easy and quick to clean. I got it especially for my wife, who has some arthritis in her thumb and has found other garlic crushers somewhat difficult and painful to use, but not so this one. So, in balance, this represents good value. That has been my general experience with Joseph Joseph, that is, well made, innovative and useful products, though not inexpensive. As is often said: "You get what you pay for".

Excellent!

By far the best garlic crusher I have ever used and fairly gentle on the hands. Cleans up well too. Was wary of the nylon handles but they are rugged and tough and u dont squeeze as hard as the usual design. At last. I shall be putting garlic in everything. Works for ginger too.

[Rewarded Review] Easy to Use; Still on a Quest for Perfect Press

This is one of the easier presses I've purchased but a small bit of garlic remains in the bottom of the press and has to be dug out. I've yet to find a press however, where this doesn't happen. I like that the handles are sturdy plastic as it cleans very well running it through the dishwasher, and the metal parts don't tarnish/erode.

Best garlic press ever

We have a "normal" garlic press that is rubbish, barely any comes out when pressed and it creates huge waste. This version by Joseph Joseph pushes out around 95% of each clove and with a really good crushed consistency. Really easy to use, effective, dishwasher-safe and almost zero waste. Well worth the price.
