Beautiful Curtains, Thick Velvet and Good Blackout

These are really nice curtains and yes, they have a good blackout lining. They block the light out- not 100% because I didn't buy the French-style return to take the curtain all the way to the wall, but it's close enough and the room gets really dark with a standard rod. They're thick and a nice velvet. I just wish that the velvet was not polyester. I avoid polyester products and synthetic materials but trying to find natural-fiber velvet in a shade I wanted for a good price and also the size I needed was getting stressful so I went ahead with these and like them but just wish I had found something non-synthetic. The green is really nice although my preference was a different green made by the same company but they were out of stock on the size I needed for months so I went ahead with this color and it's ok- not terrible and not my favorite. It is lovely, but just not the exact shade I was looking for. Once these arrived, the other color was back in stock. ): One thing I would have liked would have been really specific directions on how to do the loop option. I threaded them on the rod, but in a way where they still pleat nicely and that looks really good. It would have been nice to know how to get them on the rings (what products are necessary and how do you get the small rings on the elastic and then get the small rings on a larger ring to put on the rod?). It was too complicated so I just put the curtain directly on the rod and that was fine because it eliminates the noise of rings on the rod.

5 Stars

I bought these and then realized I needed one more. I was so disappointed, when I came back and they were out of stock. But I was diligent and finally got the last one I needed. They are very well made. The color is luscious! And boy do they block the light! I can sleep until noon if I want to. Also, for reference, they are quite heavy so keep that in mind when ordering hardware!

Dark olive velvet curtains

Very nice, quality construction. All panels were the same length. Lining makes each panel heavy and blocks light. Panels had limited wrinkles - ironed backside and steamed front. Don't iron velvet side! Panels easily trained into pleats. The panels are not constructed to use drapery pins; however, they can be used by sticking into the binding tape and it works fine. You will need seven pins and seven rings. The Panels are polyester velvet which makes material more like a microfiber cloth texture. I think I prefer cotton velvet better but for the price difference I chose these and unless you are close up, you can't tell. That is the only reason for four instead of five stars.

Highly recommend for transforming a room. I purchased black for a little elegance, old world charm and to break up all the wood in the room. I recommend hanging as high as you can and let them pool just a tad on the floor. We have three mastiffs and having them on the floor is just fine, even Roomba runs past them with ease. They are heavy, truly blackout so we can use a projector and clean easy with the upholstery attachment on the vacuum (plus some spot treating here and there). We also used continuous wood rods which are are a thousand times better than our previous metal ones that would cause the curtain rings to get hung up where the two rods came together in the center. We’ve had these curtains about three years now and love them more every day.
