Like the variable temp settings and keep warm feature; fairly quick heating element; water level window is very visible; has an attractive look. However it is a bit heavy when full.

Product was almost what I expected since it was a repeat purchase. Controls and lid had changed.

Used this for about a year & was happy with it until it started leaking into the electric base. This caused some electrical shorts and we ended up with white corrosive residue all over the outside of the appliance. I guess we got what we paid for here - but be warned & make sure you have surge protectors....

Great multi- temperature feature.

Great overall kettle. The only con us the open button on top of lid requires that you push down on it which conflicts with the open up direction. It often doesnt fork requiring ne to use my fingernail along the edge to pull up while pushing the button down. Terrible design.

[Rewarded Review] Dangerous! Turns On As Soon as You Plug It In!

I tried two of these hoping that the first one was just defective but it was not. This product is dangerous because as soon as you plug it in, it immediately begins to heat up, even without any water inside. The power button does nothing, no standby, doesnt stop it from heating up, nothing. What's the point of the button then? It was also supposed to have a temperature safeguard where it should shut off if it started to warm up without water and that did not work. Again, it immediately heats up, empty, as soon as it is plugged in and the power button does not stop it! I returned the first one and ordered another and same issues. I concluded this was just how the product was developed unfortunately and bought another brand that actually has a power button that works (and does not immediate start when plugged in) so that I can actually plug it in, put water in, and choose a setting before it begins to heat up.

Cheap kettle, doesnt last long.

Worked great until it just stopped working all together, we have only had it for four months. I saw another reviews saying the same thing. It still will turn on like it’s going to work and then only gets like warm. I finally decided ok it’s time to buy an expensive kettle because now I’ve bought two cheap ones when I could have just spent more money at first and saved myself money in the long run.

Warning: Hot to the touch!

This is a nice looking electric kettle, with some nice features. HOWEVER, be aware that it is VERY HOT to the touch! I accidentally brushed against the kettle and almost burned myself! Yes, it boiled quickly and Yes, the water was really hot....However, I am returning this item because I do not want myself or anyone - - especially if you have children around - - to get hurt! I do not recommend.

Works! Awful handle

Amazing purchase on sale! It works great boiling/heating the water for my teas/hot beverages. It’s easy selecting the desired temperature by pressing the buttons. I’m only using filtered/distilled water as our local water on island is hard and not filtered. Be careful around the carafe as it gets hot on the outside; be sure to only pick up by the handle or you will burn yourself. Keep away from little kids/animals. The only dislike I have is water stays inside the handle and I can’t dry it out.

I replaced my old stovetop kettle with this electric one and I’m mad I didn’t do it sooner!! The features make this a quality kettle. There are several options for water temps and it’s easy to move through the options by pushing the button. It keeps the water warm for 30 extra minutes before shutting off if you don’t turn it off yourself. I never heard a beep when the water came to temperature when boiling. Not sure if I missed it or if it doesn’t do it. That’s the only con I have. You can set the kettle on the counter or table because the bottom stays cool. Such a great feature! Water boils quickly as well.

I have used this kettle multiple times a day every single day since I’ve had it. I even packed it to take with me on my girls weekend at the lake! Where to begin, this kettle has multiple temperature settings, a keep warm option and heats in just a matter of minutes! Quiet while operating and has a blue light that illuminates when on! I haven’t had to clean it yet but there were clear instructions on how to do so when the time comes. My mother in law has already purchased one after hearing me rave about it!

This kettle is amazing! I have to be honest for a second and admit I’ve never owned an electric kettle because frankly I just warmed up the water in the microwave or on the stove top. This thing is fast to head up water and it can even keep it warm. I’m very convinced this thing uses much less power than a microwave or a stove. And it holds approx 7 cups which is insane because it doesn’t look like it could. I appreciate the scale on the outside of the kettle you can use to determine how much water you have (and need if for precise measurements). If I had one thing to request, it’s that the cord could be somewhat longer. Either way, I love this item!

I really find this kettle a very helpful addition to our appliance arsenal. It heats water up quickly and has many features packed in a compact and nice design that looks good on the countertop. I don't have to wait for water to boil in a pot and watch over it anymore I just heat the water in this handy dandy kettle and pour it into pot over what i want to steam or cook, cutting down on cooking time. Also I love it for daily cups of tea and my kids hot chocolate. I would def recommend.

This is one of those things that you don't think you need, but I am here to tell you that you do. This is so much better than your average stove kettle. If those are too full they make a mess of your stove when they start to boil. The water is dangerously hot and it is hard to get the water just right. This thing is the best thing that has ever happened to hot chocolate. It gets it to the perfect temperature without it being too hot. You tell it how hot you want it and it gets it just right. It is so easy to use and clean. It also looks great out my counter. I love the color.

I turn this kettle every morning before I get into the shower so it's ready when I return to the dressing room. It's a small little luxury I have really come to enjoy. Black, red & white tea are my favorites to brew and the variable temperature controls make preparing these teas perfectly effortless. To program the type of tea you would like to prepare press the up/down arrows until it highlights the tea you want. Heat-up is super quick. The ability to remove the kettle from the base without the cord being attached to the kettle is a super convenient feature. I've always used a kettle on the stovetop on high with any tea flavor but it really does make a major improvement in the flavor of the tea when it's heated to the optimal temperature. The look if the kettle is a brushed softback stainless steel with a clear viewing window at the back of the kettle that is lighted blue. I would give this as a gift for the holidays because the price point is fair and its the type of gift you always think about giving yourself.

I wasn't sure a person needed an electric kettle. In fact, I don't even own a stovetop kettle. I've always heated water in the microwave or in a saucepan on the stove. It turns out this kettle is pretty handy! It heats super fast and without me having to babysit it the way I do with the stovetop. As an added bonus, there are no worries about that dangerous superheated boil microwaved water can have when the surface is still, but when the hot cocoa touches it violently reacts and blows all over. With just the press of a button this kettle heats the water to the exact temp you select. The automatic turn off feature means no worries over boiling dry either...one less thing for this mom to be worrying about. If you have a family of more than a couple people, you'll appreciate being able to heat water for everyone's hot cocoa or instant cider safely, and all at once. My older school age kids can easily use this kettle too. Ramen soup and instant oatmeal are simple once you teach them how to use the kettle properly. Be sure to instruct users to push down on the safety press spot on the top when closing the lid. That spot could stand to be a bit larger, but it shouldn't be a problem if you're careful to point out the importance of this in the beginning. The inside of the kettle is smooth and has no exposed element, making it easy to clean. I'll close by mentioning that the kettle is quite stylish looking. My kitchen appliances are in black stainless and the kettle fits right in. It looks upscale enough that I won't need to hide it away in a cabinet. The blue LED glow of the water fill window is a nice touch too. It makes it easy to see exactly how much water you're boiling and when you've got the kettle properly seated on the base. I like this thing!

[Rewarded Review] Fantastic Kettle!

I drink coffee in the morning but during the day I love tea and hot chocolate, plus at times the soup you heat in a cup or even just broth. At night during winter, maybe a Hot Toddy. But let's face it. If you want anything but coffee from your single serve or drip coffee maker, you're going to have to clean it every time. Otherwise you are going to have a coffee taste in every other beverage. Sure, you can nuke water in the microwave but most of the time you will end up with either water that is not hot enough or water that is boiling hot and you have to wait a half hour to drink it. What is one to do?

[Rewarded Review] Full-Control Water Temps

This kettle is fabulous for tea lovers who love variety and want the water temperature to be just right (not all teas require the same temps). You have complete control of the temps and then can keep it at that temp for half an hour steady. You can see from across the room whether the pot is on--the water view glows a bright blue when on. Water heats fast--a whole pot of boiling water in about 4-5 minutes. It also has a filter, which is helpful if you live in a hard water area like I do, and it is removable to clean. I love that you can lift the pot and leave the corded base behind while serving. Only drawback is that the pot is quite hot on the outside. It would be absolutely perfect if it were insulated on the outside so that no one gets burned. The black stainless steel looks very classy--prettier than the photos. I would definitely recommend this Hamilton Beach Variable Temperature Kettle for all serious tea lovers.
