Hamilton Beach 8 cup 450 watt food processor
Best food processor I've ever had. This is the second one I am buying. The first one still works but I scratched it up trying to grind dry uncooked Pinto Beans with it. You can only do that with a glass carafe blender like my Oster that has 6 blades instead of 4. Anyway, I won't throw away the old one. I may give it to someone who is just starting out. The scratches do not affect performance. It's still a tough, sharp food processor, and it is beautiful. I love form and function. This is a great price. I saw one on here for over 90 dollars! I haven't gotten the new one, yet. I just ordered it today.
I bought this inexpensive mini food processor to make purées for my baby and it has yet to disappoint! It is so quick to use and easy to clean, and the small size makes it easy to store. I will definitely be using this for years to come, even for non-baby food things! I have a larger food processor and it is such a pain to get out and to clean. This is so simple and small and does the job. I will probably use it a lot more than my large one.
The Hamilton Beach food processor is a practical and budget-friendly kitchen companion. With a compact design, it efficiently handles basic food prep tasks like chopping, slicing, and shredding. The simple controls make it user-friendly, and the assembly is straightforward. While it may not have the same power as higher-end models, it provides good value for its price point. The compact size is ideal for kitchens with limited space. If you're looking for a reliable and affordable option for everyday food processing needs, the Hamilton Beach food processor is a solid choice.
Very Nice
This is a terrific processor. It's very quick and easy to assemble, easy to use and easy to clean--just pop it all in the dishwasher. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because it has only one thickness for slicing: potato chip thin. I contacted Hamilton Beach to see if there was an additional slicing blade I could get for it, but there isn't so I'm returning this. If you don't mind the thin slices, I highly recommend this item.
Cheaply made, a mess to use
I am an experienced cook and baker. Tried making a normal, soft pie crust and smelled burning plastic, the motor can't handle pie crust. Even half full, this machine spewed flour all over my kitchen counter, and the lid was on correctly. It just doesn't seal. Plastic parts feel cheap. Impossible to pour ingredients into bowl without it going down the center tube, I have to cover the center tube with my hand. Just an awful mess to use and not very strong. I'm giving up and buying a better quality one that has a lid that seals.
I absolutely love this product and it makes cooking so much easier. I am an Indian so especially for our cooking this is a life saver. I chop onions, cabbage, mushrooms, ginger, garlic, carrots etc in this. Also to make breadcrumbs just put your bread and its all ready. Absolutely recommend this.
Workhorse
I replaced my very expensive, high end, all the rage designer brand with this little workhorse. I purchased it a few years ago, around Christmas for less than $30.
This seems kinda shaky with chickpeas and harder things like nuts or dates but does the trick and grinds them very well. Though it is VERY loud (not sure if food processors usually are?). The size of this is just what I wanted. It's perfect for making bigger batches of things. I recommend! Only gave it 4 stars because it's a bit freaky when this thing shook while I was grinding up the nuts and dates to make energy balls (even with me holding onto the top!)
I had this food processor for right at one year and while making my famous Oreo balls that my family requests for the holidays this food processor broke. I was only grinding Oreos (about eight) and it seem to bog down and start smoking. Now granted yes I bought this one year ago but I think I’ve only used it twice the first time at Christmas 2020 for the same Oreo balls and during the summer to chop onions. Even though I did not spend a lot of money on this I feel like it should have lasted longer. So I do not recommend this brand of food processors
I bought this food processor for the sole purpose of making nut butters. Once washed and assembled, I had a jar of pecan and a jar of cashew nut butter in literally a few minutes! I'm beyond IMPRESSED with this machine. Every nut butter recipe I read said that the process would take at least 15-20 minutes, so I was prepared for the wait. I was also prepared to periodically take breaks to prevent the food processor from overheating, since I've heard that many less expensive food processors don't handle the job well. I don't know what kind of food processors those bloggers were using, but this little gem made me creamy cashew butter (using 10 oz bag of honey roasted cashews from Aldi) in less than 3 minutes and creamy pecan butter in less than 1 minute (using 8 oz bag of chopped pecans)!! I didn't even roast/heat the nuts before processing. If you're like me and want to know if this will work for nut butters then don't hesitate to buy this. Appliances like this prove that you don't always have to spend a lot of money for quality products!
This is a fantastic food processor at this price point. I purchased it with an Amazon Prime Now order because my fancy Cuisinart food processor that I had paid $200+ for stopped working for no reason. I was throwing a dinner party the next night and couldn't wait to replace my Cuisinart. When ordering last minute party supplies from Amazon Prime Now I checked to see if they sell food processors and to my delight, they did, so I purchased this one. This food processor is much lighter than my Cuisinart, but still offers a large capacity work bowl. It purees, chops, and blends most foods with total ease. I think it is even more powerful than my Cuisinart was. I was able to roughly chop vegetables in seconds, as well as make purees, as shown in my photos. It took a little time to figure out how to install the working bowl and top cover so it locks properly so the machine will turn on, but once I figured it out it was easy to use. I was extremely impressed by how powerful and quick it was. When you need a puree it totally purees whatever ingredient you are using, in seconds, unlike some food processors that either take quite a while to puree, or give you a chunky puree. The food processor has two suction cup feet on the bottom which holds the machine securely onto your workspace, which is a great feature
Don't buy it!
I am ordered this is for cut vegetables. I like use it for carrots and cabbage. After several uses, the upper disc of the grater broke almost immediately. It used to twist and the center plastic part has worn off because it is made of soft plastic. Therefore, I almost never use only the large center knives, because they only chop everything in puree. Before that I used a different brand of processor, I gave it to my friends and it still works! I am very sorry even for such little money for this rubbish!!!
A Good Intro to Food Processors
I bought this because I've never had a food processor before. I didn't want to invest too much before figuring out whether I'd like it and whether I'd use it. I like it a lot. I've already used it a few times to slice carrots, onions and potatoes. I've also used it to chop nuts. It's fast and efficient. I'd say, as a newbie, be careful not to over process. Also, if I had the option, I'd like to be able to select different thicknesses of slices. But again, this is just a basic, entry level food processor. It does three things: shred one thickness, slice one thickness and chop. It's solid and not too heavy and doesn't slide around on the counter. I'm satisfied.
Don't buy-they don't make them like they used to.
I am really disappointed in this food processor. I originally purchased this particular model over 7 years ago and it did a great job and I was very pleased. But while using my original unit , as I moved from low speed to high I felt a kick back on the control knob and it stopped working. I tried multiple times to see if I could get it to start again but it did not. Thought maybe I had blown a circuit breaker but I had not. So I figured-ok, it has died on me after 7 years so I need to order a new one. So I did. Assuming I would get another unit that would last me another 7 years. Nope. I used it less than 10 times over the next couple months and it did the same thing-while trying to move from low to high speed I felt a kick back on the control button and it just died. Very very disappointed. And I'm also upset because I bought these very same models for my 2 daughters as well in the last several years thinking they were a quality product based on the unit I originally bought. Now I don't know how long they will last for them. Don't buy this product-quality has gone to crap. If I could give it a zero star rating I would. Thought I could rely on a Hamilton Beach products-guess I can't do that anymore. They just don't make them like they used to huh?
There is no learning curve on this guy; I literally took it out of the box in the middle of cooking a recipe and figured out how to unpack it assemble it, and use it (I have never used a food processor before) in minutes. Now I understand why everyone is so over-the-moon in love with their food processors. I didn't think I wanted one taking up kitchen space, but now I'm like, "Did you really reduce those nuts and herbs to a fine pesto in three seconds?!" It is SO easy to use and to clean. I made sure to buy the "compact storage" version, which just means the lid flips over and rests on top of the bowl to reduce the height needed to store it. (I thought the cord was retractable too, but it's not. No big deal.)
Worked hard with great results
My very old food processor recently gave up after many years of use. I needed to replace it and I am not disappointed. So far, this processor has done a great job. I have used the blade, with great results. The shredder, I put to the test by shredding cheese, and alas, also pleased with the results. The feeder tube is larger than my old one which is a good feature. Sturdy and sound and been worked out fairly hard, It has taken on the task and proven to be the replacement I hope that will last me another few decades.
i love this little food processor. The design is simple and low profile and not too heave. Still, it is powerful enough to make pasta and pie dough. The feeder tube is small and requires chopping vegetables to a smaller size to get them into the shredder. That is the downside of this SIZE processor and is not a design flaw of this particular processor. Most of the other models on the market right now have the bowl over the motor which makes for more problems with vibrations and walking across the counter. Because this model is low profile it is easier to load the feeder tube and look down into the bowl which is helpful at times.I dont see this model at the top of the search list anymore, but Im glad it is still on the market. For the size, the price is right, and you will love it.
If you want uniformly sliced carrots, plan on a whole lot of randomness and other bits too!
It's only a few weeks old and I bought it to quickly slice carrots I use for my dog's treats. I was hoping for quick and easy, uniform, round slices... but sadly with the Slice Blade I get an array from see-through thin slices to a normal thickness, to shavings, to long vertical slices and a bunch of little bitty shreds, slivers and shavings. I load the chute with several carrots alternating the thick and thin ends, but not too tight so it still feeds easily without undo pressure on the blade. It's not what I was hoping for but luckily my dog isn't quite as fussed about it as I. Perhaps if the chute opening were closer to the blade there would be less randomness and more uniformity? Clearly I'm not an appliance engineer!

Disappointed
After reviewing so many food processors, this one seemed like the best choice. I bought it and so far I've used it twice. I processed organic cornmeal and wanted a finer flour but it just didn't seem to process it. I added water to the mix and processed the cornmeal for 7 minutes but it still didn't produce a finer texture. I then made a red pepper chili sauce with 10 soft dried guajillo, new Mexico chilies with roasted red bell peppers and spices and the consistency of the paste I wanted was like a tomato paste texture but it wouldn't process! It was just chunky mess after processing the chilies for more than 10 minutes! I added more oil and it still would process into a smooth paste. I'm not sure why this is a great product but I may just return it if it can't make smooth sauces or process cornmeal. What a bummer.
