So Disappointing!

I ordered 2, and I need a pair. One came with a cracked door that was not attached. And the other came with cracked glass top. Between the two items, I have one useable item. But I need a pair, so one is useless! I have contacted the seller and am awaiting a response. Overall, the quality of the “good” item is just ok.

The cabinet is well-constructed. I was disappointed in the color. I was expecting an antiqued Chinese Red color from the description & photo. But the color is more of a brownish hue. It was packed well, but there was a small area on one foot where the finish had sone damage. I think I can touch it up with a little brown stain. Overall, I am pleased w/it.

I have completed my due diligence reviewing over 6 different web sites of companies offering Asian furniture console cabinets for my office. I had a budget to work within and I was very pleased at the wide selection that Houzz offered within this furniture category. In addition to the array of pricing offered by Houzz the cabinet design, finish, dimensions, and cabinet artwork was impressive and enabled me to select a piece that met the existing requirements within my office footprint. As far as QC goes I found no manufacturing defects of the console assembly and paint finish. The packing/shipping material was well thought out enabling easy open and carton pull-off exposing the console without incident or damage unpacking and setting it up for placement. I would recommend Houzz to any customer looking for a wide selection of propriketery furniture pieces at a price point that works for the individual budget. One last note, I received the shiipment 3 days after placeing the order which originated in NJ and arrived to Naples FL via FedEx without incident. I'm glad Houzz utilizes FedEx which in my opinion is the only shipping/freight company that will deliver as ciommitted and takes pride in the care of the shipment from inception to final delivery destination.

Great Entry Table

Perfect cabinet for the entryway. I elevated it so that I could store shoes underneath, and inside added command hooks for keys and such. the shallow profile allows it to tuck behind the door easily.

Really like the look a lot and it is relatively solid. The only drawback is the hinges: the screws keep pulling out of the frame. It's annoying to have to fix because it's such a tight spot.

Useful and attractive with red background. Can use it almost anywhere and it fits décor!

Very nice, but not as described.

I bought and will use this red lacquer Chinese cabinet in my home office to store some clutter out of sight. It will do that well. Listing says in 5 or 6 places that cabinet is 36" high but it is not. It is 30" high so it is not filling the space I envisioned it to go in. Gauging from photo, that is probably what is in the photo so bad on Hayneedle. Photo is brightly lit and depicts a robust red color, bright shiny gold paint and bright brassy round pull hardware and decorative hinges. Actual product is closer to brown than red, gold paint is muted, pull hardware is sort of decorative but not brassy or round and hinges are functional 20th century pivot hinges, not decorative, round or brassy. screws fastening pull hardware are quite wrong - brassy, countersunk and crudely installed. They should be antique brass to match hardware, pan or round head with flat back and neatly installed. I may replace them. Nice surprise - it came with precisely sized glass top. Would have been nice if it included bumpers, but just getting the glass was a bonus. Shelf slides out - useful if you want to store something tall inside. The hand painting is different than in photo, but that's a plus as it is thus one of a kind, and the artwork is very well done and totally meets high expectations. It really comes through in that respect. Back and interior are not showy, but are finished in appropriate colors and add to the piece's quality feeling. Easy to live with piece though not quite as depicted or per photo. Appropriately priced.

Red cabinet

Very pretty but not solid wood and not as sturdy as I would've liked. The color is more Crimson, so doesn't exactly match my other larger piece. Looks too flat to be lacquer and has a textured finish. Comes with a glass too, which is a plus. It was packaged incredibly well --double boxed too--and no assembly needed. Still a bit pricey for the quality being less than I was expecting.

Color is far too dark

The color is not red, it is burgundy and borders on being darker than that. We thought the color was very unattractive. The hinges were not the attractive hinges pictured, they were very generic cabinet hinges - not good. The center medallion was also not nearly as nice as the one pictured. I would not recommend buying this item. We returned ours. On the good side, Overstock.com was very good at handling the return and issuing a credit in a timely manner - so, much praise for Overstock and no praise for the particular piece of furniture.

misrepresented item

The cabinet that arrived differed substantially from the pictured item. The large decorative opener was missing and there were no matching latches..

beautiful quality

The quality is pretty good but not flawless. Typical for this price point. This can be bought in china for about $XX but the markup is what we can expect in USA.

Arrived promptly and in great condition. Also came with a protective glass for the top surface. No assembly was required. Was exactly what I was expecting.

The chest is beautiful, and it is a perfect accent piece in my bedroom. I love the color, and it has a nice amount of storage for it's relatively small size. The glass top is a plus but it is very light weight and slides easily so should have something with some weight placed on top. Order arrived quickly and was very well packed. I don't think anyone would be disappointed with this item.

This piece is a winner. i LOVE IT .it came assembled ,was delivered quickly, no problems of any kind, the color is great,not lipstick red but i didnt want that.

Very pretty piece of furniture

Thanks to other reviews, I knew this would be a dark burgundy color. It's quite exquisite and comes with a piece of glass that protects the top. The glass stays put if you put something on top of it -- I have a lamp on mine. It's truly a lovely cabinet and makes a stylish accent piece for any home. I'm glad I purchased it.
