Beautiful but creates a mess

I loved the look of this rug but it is drops so much dust and sheddings from the jute that after a couple weeks I took it out of the room. I may use it outdoors next summer. I would not recommend this rug for indoors.

Nice color

I love the look of this rug. I was looking for something like this to either replace our living room rug in our current home or store to put in the next home. We ended up storing it, but not because we didn't like it. The color is perfect for what I was looking for, although the pattern is a little bigger than I expected. Some reviews stated there wasn't a jute smell, but this one has a smell. We plan to air it on the balcony before laying it in the house. It came nicely packed and delivery was quick.

Not quite what we were hoping for

When we unrolled this rug my wife and I started sneezing immediately. We hoped the earthy smell and dusty/allergen issue would dissipate but it hasn’t and we just can’t take it anymore. Apart from that, it is as thick and chunky as shown in photos, not too scratchy but it does feel “dry” like a welcome mat you’d have on your patio. There were also a few frayed weaves that I had to re-knot when we unrolled it. If you have a Roomba, you probably won’t want to get this rug as it is very tall, and you’ll be constantly pinged to go help your Roomba get unstuck. I think we’re gonna look for a seagrass replacement that won’t activate our sinuses so badly.

SMELLS HORRIBLE

If I could give 0 stars I would. We bought this rug in October 2022 and within a month this rug smelled absolutely horrible. It smells like mold or like a sweaty sock. It’s disgusting and embarrassing if we have guests. The rug sheds like crazy, you cannot sit on it without having the rug everywhere on your clothes and the smells of the rug transfers on your clothes. My dog sits on the rug and smells horrible after. We discovered the rug sheds underneath and my house has never been dirtier because of this rug. I’m extremely disappointed for having spent over $300 on this rug. DO NOT BUY THIS RUG!!!

3rd Time is Not a Charm

It looks nothing like the picture. It looks much more ivory in the picture and it just doesn’t look well made. This is the 3rd time I’ve purchased from Rugs USA and every time I’ve been disappointed with what I received. I thought I would give them a try again and thought well maybe it was just a bad choice on my part but nope, should have learned my lesson. I returned it and had to pay almost $70 dollars to ship it back. I never write reviews but since they asked and it’s been the 3rd time I have to deal with this that here it is. I will never buy from Rugs USA again.

Terrible rug

I bought this rug a few weeks ago and i was very excited to put it in my living room! I was extremely disappointed in it. It’s very cute and matched very well but it’s literally falling apart and sheds so much! Anytime we walk on it or sit on it we are full of lint! It’s all over my couch! Worst purchase! I thought it was a durable rug that would last awhile and it’s falling apart within a week! Do not buy!

Smells like it’s been in a damp basement for ten years

The rug would be just what we wanted all but for the fact that now our entire house smells like a moldy basement. It’s the first thing you smell when you come home and walk in the door. This is the 4th rug I’ve ordered from rugsusa and we have never had this problem before. It may keep me from ordering again. I’m allergic to mold and just sitting in my dining room now has my eyes itching and my nose running. It’s gross. Skip this rug.

I have searched for months for the perfect entryway rug - and have returned several. Based on the pictures of this one, it checked all the boxes - so I was willing to wait 3 months to get it. Arrived today ! The other reviews complaining about smell, weird things sticking out of it, pulls and funky seams on the bottom side … all true. I gently cut out the pieces that seemed to be twigs ? And sprayed with odoban for the order. For the price , it’s worth a try to see how it holds up.

Pretty but unreasonable poor quality

I bought this rug for our primary family room. It looks gorgeous and fits the aesthetic I was curating; BUT, my home has never been dirtier and it's because of this rug. I have to vacuum every single day because this rug sheds an unreasonable amount, and the fibers somehow find there way around the entire house. I'm so disappointed because I really wanted to find my go-to rug.

Chevron Jute rug

Much thicker than described, stretches out unexpectedly, does not keep its shape. A tripping hazard around the high stuff edges and wobbly under the chairs. I would’ve returned it but it would’ve cost me too much money for a return shipment. So we put it under a bed instead of under our dining room table.

beautiful and thick

I like this rug, it is thicker than pictured, about 1" thick. However after using it for a week some of the weaving have come undone. It might have been because my vacuum's brush roll switch is broken and i cant turn it off. I like it, its softer than i thought too. Using it as an interior entry mat in front of my patio door. A rug pad is recommended. I didn't get a large one. Just small pieces under to keep it from moving. There was a tiny bit of shedding the first couple of days but now its all good!

So cute

I really love this rug! I got it on clearance. I got a 4x6 for my children's bedroom. I needed something neutral but not boring and it's perfect. It's not very soft but it's thick and gives the hard floor some padding for them which is really what I was going for. When I unrolled the rug the smell was horrible, ..I assume that's just because of what the rug was treated with before it was shipped out. I let it air out outside for a day and the smell subsided. You've also got to vacuum it a few times, it does shed a bit in the beginning. Love it tho!

Awful!!!!

This rug is so pretty but that's about all it has going for it. It sheds so badly! I gave it a few days... but it's still horrible. There are fibers all over my house, my kids, clothing... EVERYWHERE! I vacuumed at least three times a day hoping it would subside but no luck! It also leaves a large amount of gray dust on my wood floor (on the underside) that I keep having to vacuum up at well. Upon unwrapping it, there were several frayed areas that I have tried to tuck back in. Just a huge disappointment. I placed a return request and it looks like I will have to pay $50 shipping for this! Ridiculous!!! Not a good experience at all!

Don't buy this rug

This rug is a piece of crap. I actually am curious if they sent me one that was already returned because I noticed that it has a layer of dirt under it! I want to return it but am pregnant and its too much of a hassle. We are moving soon and I bought it so I could have a lighter colored rug in my dining room for when we show the house. It doesn't look bad but is definitely not for indoors. It's thick and scratchy and if you try to vacuum it the loops pull right out! I have to crawl around and push them back in. It might work on a back porch or something but I'll probably end up throwing it in the trash when we move. It's also so thick and loosely woven that it lays crooked on the floor. Definitely a waste of money :(

Beautiful but it sheds something awful!

I ordered the 6x9 about 4 months ago. This rug has a beautiful chunky texture and lays nicely (no curly edges). There was a musty earth smell to it which dissipated (or I just go used to it) after about a week. Having lived with it for a while, here's what you should know:

I hate this rug!

I bought this rug last November (10 months ago) and loved the look of it when I got it all rolled out. I actually still get compliments on its appearance, that's not the issue. This rug sheds A LOT! I had read reviews that this is normal and it will stop. Not true! It still sheds like crazy and because I tried to give it time to see if it would stop I missed the window to return it. I despise this rug.

Messy and misshaped - Do not recommend!

I really regret buying these rugs (I bought two sizes for my large living room). They both shed everywhere - the hardwood floors and couch get covered, not to mention socks and clothing. If you have kids, don't get this rug, its messy! I have to vacuum all the time. The sides are not even causing it looks misshaped and stretched out, its very frustrating. A ton of fibers are also sticking out, I've been able to tuck them into the weave of the rug. Its very thick so my daughter has tripped over it many times. All in all, not a rug for a family or really for anyone who cares about keeping a clean home! When I really got fed up, it was too late to return for credit. I did contact customer service. USA Rugs should stand behind products better.

Earthy and textural, not sure how long it will last

This was my second purchase from Rugs USA. There were issues with the first one that kept me from buying again. I ordered this rug after seeing it in the home of instagram bloggers and it does look great, exactly as I thought it would. Getting it wasn't easy. I got "purchase complete, item shipped" email next day after I ordered, them I didn't see any movement in the tracking as it was never transferred to FedEx. Tried to call number of times and got "we're closed for thanksgiving" message (this was Christmas time late December!). As a last resort posted a negative comment on Instagram and got immediate answer and real action! Found out other ladies has similar problems. Well the rug is here and it's nice and thick. It has a strong smell (2 weeks now) which doesn't bother me, husband knows better not to complain, but I can see how it could be a real issue for somebody. Also, there were some loose ends sticking through the weave, I do hope that it won't unravel. And last - the two edges are cut, turned under and glued which makes them very thick to the point of being a tripping hazard. Overall experience is not so positive so I'll stick to ordering from more reliable sources

Not great for household with kids or pets

While I love the way this rug looks it has some flaws. From the first day I laid it down it had this fine sand almost powder like substance underneath it. Apparently something that comes out of the rug itself since I'm a fanatic about cleaning. My kids spilled some apple juice on it and it immediately discolored in that spot. When I tried to clean it with rug cleaner, it made the spot lighter than the rest of the rug. Apple juice is generally something that is easily gotten out, so if you have kids, you might want to re-think this one. After a couple months the woven fibers started to fray in spots and come out, so I would have to weave them back in. It really is a nice looking rug and I'm sad that it didn't hold up in my house hold. I had it for about 8 months and I bought the biggest one so I'm out over $300, but I suppose if I didn't have kids It would have been ok.
