Loud, Even on the Lowest Setting, Poor power

I purchased this for my husband in December 2023 for Christmas to replace the old range hood that came with our house when we bought it. We thought this would be a great upgrade and I was so excited when he installed it this past weekend! We used it for the first time tonight and we have multiple complaints, and are generally unsatisfied. After paying a lot of money and taking the time and effort to uninstall and reinstall, this product was not worth what we have invested in it.

Absolutely amazing

I recently upgraded my kitchen with this Range Hood, and I couldn’t be more delighted with its performance. From its sleek design to its whisper-quiet operation, this range hood has truly transformed my cooking experience.

Unintuitive, breaks on day one, worst warranty!

Bought this brand new and only worked for 1 day! Reached out to customer service and they ask you to do DIY repairs. You can hire professionals but labor is on you! Parts take weeks to be shipped so expect heavy cooking smell in your house during repairs. They don't offer refunds or replacements until you do the repairs which doesn't seem to follow any diagnostic process - just trial and error. After repairs, you still have a bad unit? Tough luck! They don't offer refunds and installing a replacement unit cost is on you too! Stay away from this brand, you will pay more down the line than the original price for a subpar product.

Very powerful and does the job

Then why only 3-stars? For the first 2-weeks of installing the fan, my kitchen was almost smoke free. However, after second week we started seeing smoke again all over the house. Even though we put it on "high" bearing all its noise levels, unless there's no active cooking on the stovetop it couldn't create enough suctions to get all the smells and smoke. It's definitely better than my previous range-hood but not as much as to my expectation

Huslane Range Exhaust Fan

I love this fan! It has excellent suction and the automatic clean works just as good! It's purchase price was more than well worth it and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great exhaust fan!

Good looking vent hood

Looks great so far. We don't have it installed yet, but really like the look and the compact size. The product was delivered from the seller in a timely manner and the packaging was good so it was well protected during shipping. Hopefully I can get it installed this weekend and then I can update this review with info on installation and operation. Reading through the installation manual, it looks like it will be fairly easy to put up.UPDATE - May 11, 2018OK, we've been using this vent hood for about a year now and are still pretty happy with it. Here are more detailed thoughts:Installation - It was not as easy to install as I was hoping. Definitely a 2-person job or you'll have to build some kind of a stand to hold it up in place while securing it to the cabinets. I did it by myself and it was a bit of a challenge.Use:Pros:- good looking, low-profile hood. We really like the sleek styling and curved lines.- It moves a lot of air. It has 6 fan speeds and I rarely use anything higher that 2. I'm mostly using it to vent steam from boiling water and fan speed 2 is plenty for that.- Intuitive to use.- Relatively quiet at lower fan speedsCons:- When you first turn the fan on, it starts at speed setting 3. Pushing the fan button again makes the fan speed go up to the next higher speed. Pushing the fan button again when on speed 6 will then drop it down to speed 1. To use speed setting 1 or 2, you have to turn on the fan and then press the fan button 4 or 5 more times (3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 1 - 2). It would have been much better if the fan started on speed setting #1.- Lights are just on or off, no "dim" light setting. This has not been a big deal for me. I turn the lights on when I want to see something on the cooktop and I turn them off when I don't.- Clock always displays in 24-hour time.- If you have both the fan and the light on, there is no way to turn off just the fan. Pushing the power button to turn off the fan turns off the light as well. You then have to turn the light back on. A minor inconvenience, but an inconvenience none the less.- It is loud at the higher fan settings. It moves a lot of air though so that is probably to be expected. A stated earlier, I rarely use any speed higher than 2.All in all, I initially gave it 4 stars and I will leave it at 4 stars now. We're very happy with the look and functionality, but there are some things about it that are less than ideal.

Great hood, but need to improve on light

The light only has one setting and is not very bright. Usually other hoods have option to turn light low and high. The back piece that holds the drainage from the cleaning and oil broke. Contacted the seller and replacement part was sent very quickly. Great customer service. The hood itself works very well and sucks most if not all the order while cooking.

This is a legit vent hood

This is a very serious vent hood. It moves a ton of air! Installation was mostly straightforward, however, there's no mention of using the rubber stoppers that are included to properly space the hood away from the wall (I think that's what they are for). Once the stoppers were in place and the hood was re-installed, I was able to easily get the bottom panel back on.I had a 13 year old vent hood/microwave combo with a vent that was basically just a noise maker, and couldn't even make a tissue stick to the air intake. The Hauslane not only has no issue making a tissue stick, i felt like the tissue was going to get ripped apart and inhaled into the hood, chopped up by the blades, and spewed out the roof vent like confetti. Using a DB meter app on my phone, the old vent registered around 70db. The Hauslane registered around 78db on low, and high wasn't too much louder.Having said that, the hood is a little noisier than I had anticipated. I expected medium and high settings to be fairly noisy, but was hoping the low setting might be a little quieter. Still, not too bad, especially for the volume of air it moves.

The quality and weight of the Hauslane Range Hood makes it necessary to have two people installing it.

There is nothing to dislike about the Hauslane Range Hood. The unit is made of top quality materials and has innovative design features like internal and cleaning components that are easy to remove, clean and replace. The suctioning power is sufficient to work in a commercial kitchen. The Hauslane Range Hood comes very well packaged and arrived to me within the specified time frame. The unit itself comes wrapped in plastic that further protects all surfaces from any scratches of abrasions. Instructions are easy to follow and tools required are minimal.

Nice produce. Instruction is garbage, but still helpful if you are smart enough...

Will update later. Not easy to install at all, DIY if you. The instruction is very much a rubbish, if not is one. Most things on the instruction are close to correct, if they are not intentionally misleading you here and there. I could tell many parts are translated by google from Chinese. But, I can infer even in Chinese it is not a well prepared instruction. That's my biggest complain about this stuff.IMPORTANT! The measures for the holes to drill at the bottom of the cabinet are incorrect. You need some math here. It's easy. Just think carefully before you drill.I received the box completely opened. The seller insisted it's Amazon's problem. Luckily enough, the hoods look new, so I don't return it. I need one as soon as possible.Sound is good. Self cleaning looks good. Buttons are soso. Vibrations almost no. Suction power good enough. Pretence is very nice.

Product great so far . . . Needs new installation guide

We did a self install with a top vent and it was all pretty straight forward. As others have said it takes 2 to get it up there mostly because you have to hold it there to mark where the screws go (someone else mentioned that a template would have been nice and I concur) and then slide the fixture onto the screws which you can't really see when you are supporting it. The one place we got stuck was the installation of what I would call the flue (its the metal flap that opens to let the air out but closes again so warm air isn't always leaking out the vent). There was no description of it in the manual and the picture which was supposed to show it installed was very blurry. Basically you have to slide the squarish rubber bits mounted on 2 metal V shaped prongs (located on opposite sides of the vent opening) off and then set the axle that goes through the middle of the flue one in each end of the V shaped prongs. When you replace the rubber bits they hold it down so that when you turn the air on the flue opens instead of flying away. It took us a while to work it out.Quality wise it seems good but time will tell on that front. We replaced a model from 1960 that was dripping oil everywhere so we are excited to see how the oil/grease capturing feature works. I will try to add notes as it ages. It definitely deals with cooking smells better than the old one. I hate the smell of frying and I used to have to go to the other end of the house whenever my husband did it but with the new hood I only detected the smell a little when he was done.

Early Outlook Very Positive

I had the Hauslane 30" C395 installed into a house I'm moving into next week, so while I have seen it and tested it's operation, I haven't had a chance to put it through it's paces yet, thus just 4 stars, for now. But I'll give you a couple of first impressions:1. Boy, is it powerful! It is a bit loud at high speed, but I don't think I'll need to crank it up that high too often. I do use a deep fryer, however, and this should help keep my new kitchen grease-free.2. It's beautiful. Beats the heck out of the plain white box of a hood it replaced.3. The light illuminates the stovetop very well.4. Haven't tried the self-cleaning feature yet, of course, so I can't really comment on that yet. But I am very interested to see how it does when the time comes.5. Versatile installation; install straight out the back of the unit and through an outside wall, or up and out through the top with some ductwork, which is not included. All in all, if this hood works as well as suspect it will, I will consider it a steal at $299.00, especially compared to other comparably priced hoods. I will update this review, and hopefully my rating, as warranted.

Quality, Design, and Value

The Hauslane Range Hood C395 36" surprised us with it's quality construction and modern design. It is slimmer than expected and has many features only found in some all too expensive models. A feature that is nice in particular is the self cleaning function. The large 6" vent make quick work of all cooking fumes and the multiple speeds allow the user to choose the ideal rate of extraction. It is a great product for a fair price.

Excellant quality

Granted I'm not using this range hood in a traditional kitchen. I have mine mounted above my electric brewing system in my laundry room. I needed something that would ensure that the steam created was all sucked out. This does a great job, my only issue, and it's minor because I'm only dealing with steam, it that after a few hours the steam collects inside the unit, and drips from the front corner. I'd venture a guess that in most normal situations this would not be an issue.

Super Range Hood

This hood is much more powerful and quieter than my last range hood. It looks beautiful and really sucks the smoke, grease, and steam away with ease. It is also easy to use and easy to clean. Why pay more when you buy this excellent hood for peanuts.

Good Quality Rangehood

I really like the look of this product. It is well made and reasonably quiet. The installation was a bit tricky in my house mostly due to the age of the home. For example, we had to cut some additional venting space in the upper cabinet to get the ductwork to align with the product. Luckily, the item comes with several options for venting, so we were able to pick the best method for our set-up. I found the placement of the buttons to be a bit odd. The self-clean feature and the light would be better placed further to the sides so the fan on/off and speed buttons stood separately, but that's my only complaint. Overall, very happy with the purchase and the price.

Moves air well

Unit arrived packed well, it is heavy and may require an extra set of hands or use a small ladder and a box to hold it up while you mount it.It does move the odors out of the house, it does create more sound the higher you set it, most all vent hoods do become louder at high speeds. The default setting when turning on is 3 out of 6 speeds. In order to turn off the fan the light turns off then you have to turn the light back on, I think that is a design flaw. The light is one setting on or off.Overall I am pleased with the purchase, I would have like to have had more light settings, but I did purchase the product knowing it only had one setting. The aesthetic design looks well with my stainless steel Kenmore stove and GE fridge.

Good quality but color is STAINLESS STEEL, nice

The range hood quality is good and price acceptable. I compared a lot of range hoods and select this one finally. It has AUTO CLEAN function and I think that would help a lot in cleaning. For the 38s auto clean I tried with clear water and I just heard it's working sound for 15s only but it do haves some muddy water coming out from the piles that I think it works good. The range hood I received is covered by a white film and seller told me it is for protective purpose. I removed it and the color is STAINLESS STEEL. Thank you for the instruction!

Great purchase

Replaced a prior hood with this one- this thing really sucks! By that I mean it sucks all the smoke etc out of my house. Suction power is high. Actually, the output vent is on a patio and I can see leaves/dust blow around outside when I have this on high. Fairly simple and standard install and clean looks. Matches my stainless steel appliances perfectly.

Great low priced kitchen exhaust fan!

This is a very good fan. Installation should be done by professionals. We took out a built-in microwave above the stove and replaced the microwave with this fan. It took two professional installers who know what they are doing about 5 hours. Most of that time was spent installing piping to vent to the outside of the house, six feet away and through three kitchen cabinets. Also installed a custom external hood so rain and insects, etc. cannot get into the vent pipe from outside. But fan alone would be three hours for two professionals You will spend at least $1,000 for the labor for install fee. You better use good installer otherwise you could have lots of trouble. Two skilled tradesmen for one day, that is at least $1,000.Maybe a simple install right out of house would not be so hard, but you need an external hood outside house to protect from weather and animals. That is not easy. With the electrical hook up and all, this is not a DIY job at all. We paid a one all-in amount to include fan, pipe and the other components, and labor. Components will be about $100. And we are very satisfied. We stir fry Chinese food every day, our neighbors get to enjoy the smells now. Fan suction is very good, have not used self-clean yet.
