Great table - totally meets our needs - the directions could be a little clearer - some of the guidance for the screws etc were not clear, and also, were incorrect. However, would totally endorse this product - well made and solid

Beautiful island

I love my kitchen island, but the directions were terrible. Fortunately, I’ve put furniture together many times and except for one step, I didn’t need help.

Do Not Purchase

Pros- quality of wood- finish of the woodCons- Pre drilled holes do not match- instructions are poorly written with poorly drawn assembly guides- the barrel nut fasteners are a hassle- when put together, it is creaky and unstableOverallLooks nice from afar but get something else. I would purchase a cheap prefab block over this hunk. Absolute letdown of a product and would not purchase any items from this manufacturer after this experience.

The cart was great and sturdy but putting it together...

The cart was great and sturdy but putting it together was a bear! I put things together all of the time for work. I see all kinds of issues but the instructions on this cart were hard to follow and I definitely hadTo watch the videos multiple times. The video moves too fast. I’d have to pause and start again. I like the cart but wouldn’t want to go through the hassle of putting together another one. Not with that hassle.

This has terrible instruction and in my opinion is garbage. For the cost it's terrible. The wood is good.This was the worst assembly I have ever ran in to. After about 6-8 hrs I got it together but I suspect it will fall apart randomly. The drawer rails are terrible too. Don't waste your money on this item.

Not sure

Putting it together was a total pain. Be able to walk away from it every once in a while. Once we got it together it looks really good and serves the purpose I bought it for.

3 hours for me to assemble. You need to have a computer handy to watch the 3 part YouTube videos and supplement with the printed instructions. Key pieces of information are present in each source separately, so either one alone is not sufficient, and sometimes, the order of things differs.

Rotten instructions!!

I love the cart now that it is put together. But putting it together was a huge pain in the rump. The instructions are not clear at all !! The individual pieces are not labeled, and it leaves you with only a picture to figure out what piece is what. When we started to put it together at different steps, at first it was ok. Further down the line, not one word about how to anchor all this together so it is not just a pile of wood. Thankfully our daughter just bought and put together a bookshelf that had similar hardware for binding or anchoring the bigger pieces, because without that it would still be in pieces on my living room floor. nice product, rotten instructions!

Quality solid wood

Love the oiled natural wood. I assembled it by myself (60+ female) over several hours. Watch the video but remember, the video is for this and the drop leaf model combined, so refer carefully to the printed instructions and diagrams. (Video is at Catskill Craftsman item #1544) . . Everything fit together perfectly in this well designed/engineered piece. . . I am using it for table linen storage. Since it is oiled wood I have items in the cabinet placed in container bins or plastic bags to prevent any oil transfer. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Wife's Island

Very nice product, needs better instructions and The pin setup it is assembled with is not that great would prefer screws and bolts to make it more steady.

Great piece

We have been looking for an island this size. Order was processed great. The shipment arrived earlier than expected!!! The videos on assembly were very helpful....once we saw them the process went well. the finished product is just what we wanted.

Good Product but Be Warned

First of all, now that we are using it, I am enjoying it very much. I didn't give it a 5 star rating because it was a BEAR to put together compared to others. This was due partly to the fact that the pieces weren't labeled and so many looked alike. It was hard to determine what was right, left, front or back. I think "lettered" stickers would have helped. A couple of the predrilled holes weren't predrilled, and there were some that were drilled too much so the little rods went in too far. Some of the holes weren't drilled straight, so we had to push and pull some of the screws and re-mount. Putting the sides together with the metal rods was an absolute nightmare. There were several items which needed to go into holes on one brace while you put the other brace on. You couldn't do it with it standing, so you had to lay it down, but they kept popping out no matter how hard we tried. That may have been because we didn't secure the screws with the nuts, but then that wasn't clear in the instructions. We ended up using tape and when it collapsed, we had to start over. When it was time to put the casters together and pound in the wheel sockets, we didn't completely pound them into the wood and there's no way to pull the shaft out of the socket and start over so our wheels aren't all the way in and when we lift the cart, the casters fall out. Finally, the wood comes oiled. However, we use ours for a table. After one week it had a nice coffee ring on it. It took a lot for me to sand it out and so I applied a clear lacquer to the wood. It's not as pretty as its original finish, but I had not other choice. However, now that it's all put together, I'm happy and I'm especially happy with the drop leaf which is the main reason I got it - our other cart didn't have one and we eat at the cart all the time Less

Meets our needs very well.

There were some missing screws and some screws were the wrong size but I was able to replace them from my own supplies. As suggested in the instructions, two people would be helpful in a couple of the stages but I was able to assemble it completely by myself. The wood finish is excellent although the ends of the top are somewhat rough.

Great Island, hard to assemble

This is a very nice Island. My wife and I really like it. Quality, fit and finish is excellent. It looks good in our kitchen. The down side to it was that it is a BEAR to put together. Set aside half a day to do this job. Do not think, "I am a very skilled builder and I will wiz through this thing," because, I am a very skilled builder and this thing had me saying bad words a few times. The directions are generally good. There are a few points that the descriptions were not good enough. Buy it, take your time putting it together.

Beware - very difficult to assemble.

Instructions too complex. It would have helped to have pieces labeled as to their identity with removable stickers! With 2 people, it took 3 hours.

I LOVE this Island!!!

I bought this Kitchen Island and could not be ANY happier with my purchase. This is SOLID and well made and while putting it together was a bit tedious it was well worth the effort. It looks amazing in my kitchen and I am getting many compliments on it when people visit. I would highly recommend this Island to anyone. It is worth more than the asking price by far!!

Love the quality of this item for the price.

I was able to put it together all by my self. Make sure you have the time and you set things out in order so that you can find what you need.(It did take a good part of my day to put together). Read the instructions and you should be able to put it together. Once it was put together we have enjoyed it and it looks really nice. Its the right size for our kitchen and we can move it around to were we want. The wheels turn great. The drawer slides open and shut and I love the enclosed space it has.
