This rug is very beautiful. The only discrepancy is that it's way more red than the pictures show. I expected it to be a bit more of a brownish red. It's a nice thick pile and you can tell it's a quality rug. It sheds but all my good rugs have for a while. This rug has a nice classy look and it can compliment a high Victorian or even a shabby chic look.

Initially just overjoyed with this rug. The length was great, the color stood out, and wife and I thought we had found perfect match for hallway. This being black requires regular vacuuming (lint shows, etc) and this rug sheds badly. So much so that certain areas are getting slightly discolored. The material for this runner is cotton and wool and was hand-tuffed , handmade. Don't think I will go in that direction again. I depended on the previous reviews before purchasing this and their experience doesn't match ours. Getting the right rug runner has become very frustrating.
