Unit is difficult to assemble.

I had to enlarge the holes with an electric drill in order to use the provided screws. The moldings are hard to attach to the sides, top and bottom because, due to the position of the unit on the floor, you can't see the brackets in order to screw them onto the moldings (p. 12 -14). I needed to buy a power screwdriver in order to deal with the situation. Also the instruction manual (p. 16) does not say what to do with the back (part N).

Very nice bookcase. Took a while to assemble. Looks great.

Used as a second Bookcase.

It’s pretty, and it’s better quality than the garbage you get at ikea, so 5 stars.

Not Like Other Sauder

i have 3 other sauder bookshelves that have been discontinued. i hoped this would be close enough that they'd work together. the top isnt flat to be able to display things on top. you can see the particle board on the middle shelf. there are forced offsets that make it look put together shoddily. jusr not nearly the same quality as their older bookshelves which was extremely disappointing.

I received none of the items I ordered. They are being sent to the wrong address. Notified Walmart customer service Monday of this week.

Boards too short

The design would be nice if the boards weren’t too short… it’s a lot of work to put together to have gaps!

Book shelf

I first want to say that I am disappointed that this item was not available to be delivered inside my 3rd floor apartment. I very heavy. I do like that it's hard to tell from a distance that this is not real. I wish that the side were 2 long pieces opposed to being 4 short pieces connected to the center. The center connection has a little bit of a gap that may grow over time. I do appreciate the beauty and price. I recommend to anyone living in a ground level dwelling or is fortunate enough to have their own personal movers.

unstable and unsafe

These shelves are a nightmare to put together, and extremely wobbly once assembled. They were purchased as a temporary storage solution. Based on the price point, I did not expect them to be high quality, but they're even worse than I thought. I definitely would not recommend these for anyone, but especially not anyone with children due to the safety concerns.

Stunning book shelf

I really love these shelves!

I purchased a set of these shelves years ago and loved them so much I ordered another set to add more books to my collection. I love the professional look of these shelves as well as the cherry finish. They are good quality and not too hard to put together.

This is a very nice looking bookcase

I have used Sauder since the mid-80's (three bookshelves, entertainment center, and office desk set), and have always recommended them. But this is my first order since the late 90's. The construction was not a problem (although the screws were very hard to tighten and very close to something that made getting my hand/driver to turn them a problem. My main issue is with the two side pieces for this 60" high bookshelf. They were in two sections on each side, making the integrity/solidness weaker in the middle than they would by for a single 60" side piece. I agree with some other reviews that indicated the reduced stability of this method, and I suspect that this was done to reduce shipping cost. Also each shelve needed to have a separate under piece screwed in. Comparing this to my three bookshelves from then 90's: the side pieces were a strong single piece, and the shelves were a strong one piece. Also the corner brackets appear to be of a cheaper material than the solid metal ones in my older Sauder furniture (I still have some from my previous furniture that I retired). I do understand the higher costs of doing business in this economy and trying to keep costs down. Would I consider Sauder in the future - All in all, it still is a very pretty and functional bookshelf. Would I consider Sauder in the future? Yes, and I will do more thorough investigation and inquiries before ordering.

Sturdy and long lasting!

I bought another one of these shelves recently to go with the other 3 I purchased years ago. I am so happy Sauder keeps the same "styles" around for more than a year or two. I purchased my first of this style over 12 years ago! These are super strong and look great. They have held up to being moved several times and I even spilt some liquid on one of them and it the material never softended or became flakey. Great product!
