Rug came filthy and used. It shipped from the supplier. Looked like it had been a floor model for years. Stains all over it. I don't know how this went out as a sellable item. Home Depot returned it with no problem, hopefully not to be resold again.

Lots of shedding so far. I’m hoping it subsides. Also it was delivered rolled and folded which isn’t ideal it puts a lot of tension on the backing material in the wrong direction so it takes a very long time to settle. Overall nice pile but will have to see how it holds up over time.

Excessive Shedding

We have had this carpet for roughly a month and have to vacuum it every other day because it sheds constantly. We are starting to see bare spots because it is falling apart, especially around the outside. The color matches the description fairly well, but the quality leaves much to be desired.

Love the Rug

This rug is beautiful. I am going to use it with my christmas decor. It will go perfect. The red is so beautiful. And it is very well made. I placed it in the area when I received it. It is the perfect size for the area. And the price is excellent. Very reasonable.

Very disappointed. The rug measures just over 7.5 feet. This can only be determined once all packaging is laboriously removed. As I live in Brooklyn I can not imagine paying for shipping to return this, nor can I believe I’d have to carry this to a return drop off location. Additionally once unrolled- there are defects in the weave that have linear areas where threading was compromised. So much work moving the furniture out of the room to find this largely smaller in size than it is presented and sold as. False advertising.

I usually love this brand of rugs -- this one left me a little disappointed in the color. The rug online was much more vibrant in color (I'm usually not too surprised in colors I receive and feel like my computer screen isn't crazy off). I actually looked at the label on the rug thinking I may have not actually received the turquoise that I ordered, but it's labeled as such -- I suppose it could be labeled wrong. It's just kind of a blah color. This isn't one of their thicker rugs like others I've purchased, and it really isn't soft at all to touch. I wouldn't want a big area rug like this and lay on the rug... It's fine as a runner. Vacuums nicely but still shedding like crazy a month later. Not an issue other than emptying the vacuum canister, doesn't leave a mess on the floors.

The rug is definitely good quality. I love Safavieh products. I purchased a round black rug. It should be noted that the color is a muted black that is more like a deep charcoal. For me, this works just fine. It's not an intense rich black so if you're looking for that you might not be pleased.

Soft and great color but not 8 ft

First rug arrived with 3 brown spots (gross) and measured 91”x 93” - not 8ftx8ft as described/ordered. Customer service was awesome and replacement rug came in a few days. Clean and gray color is perfect as shown. But measured 91”x93” again and should be 96”x96”. Size matters in my 10ftx10ft square room. I kept rug because color is perfect although measurement is a bit off. Soft pile with subtle variation which I REALLY like. There is a mild odor like other posts I’ve read but seems to be fading away after 4days now.

8 x 10 rug

Like how it feels real and authentic under your feet. Not really plush though, I may add a rug pad to help. It does shed. A lot. If you have dark floors be warned. I have light wood floors so it’s not noticeable. The first few times I used my Dyson hand vac the canister was filled with rug fibers. After 4 vacuums it’s less but still shedding. I think that is just the norm with a natural fiber rug. It does have random bright spots of color. 1/4” of hot pink and an orange fiber. But nothing I would return over. I will say the gray is a very warm gray, almost a lavender which is odd. We have a gray sofa though so it’s fine. For the price I don’t complain about the little things.

Well made basic hall rug

I purchased this as a hall rug and needed it to not "compete" with two large printed rugs in the adjoining room. I also purchased a thick felt pad from Overstock to add some height and "cush". The picture is not the best representation of the rug: hardwood floors have yet to be installed, no pad under it yet, and it is fresh out of the rolled packaging. However, the pile is dense, well made, wool. It should wear well despite early morning romps and chases the cats engage in. I am hoping this will help to keep them from skidding into the wall and dampen the noise of their galloping thunder at 5:00am. As you can see in the picture, the rug received a high approval rating from some of the gang.

Beautiful rug!

Blue round 8' This is a lovely rug! It's not a solid blue but has subtle striations of other colors like other blues, a bit of purple and green. It's so subtle that from across the room you can't see it, but can when your standing on it. I love that aspect of it. When I got this I thought it would be thicker. It's so thin that it could be called a flat weave - but not really. It's just a low pile rug. But don't let that put you off. The rug itself is an excellent quality and the fact that's it's wool makes it luxurious. I put a 3/8" felt pad under it and now it's nice and cushy. I recommend this rug.

This is a beautiful rug; however, it came to us folded up (not in a roll) so there were very big deep creases in the run. Because it would not lie flat, we had to solicit the help of a professional to get the creases out. This was very time consuming. In the end, however, it is a beautiful rug and we are very happy with it. Would not recommend it for those who aren't willing to go the extra mile and take this on themselves. It should have been shipped rolled up and not folded over several times.

DO NOT BUY THIS RUG!!!!!

Wow, where to start? I haven't been this disappointed in a purchase in a long time. Minus 1.5 stars for the fact that they sent it to me FOLDED. Seriously...folded. The rug now has a bald spot that's a half-inch wide from where it was folded in half. Yes, folded. In half. No, it didn't vacuum out & while I'd like to believe that the pile will somehow magically grow back in the giant bald spot, I doubt it. I'd rather pay for more expensive shipping than receive a damaged rug. Then, mine 2.5 stars for the fact that this rug isn't actually grey and looks nothing like the pretty grey rug in the photo. It's more of a grey-ish blue, much darker than the rug in the photo and not at all matching to my decor in the manner that the pretty grey rug in the photo would have been. Unfortunately, I can't take away any more stars. Now, the interesting problem of "how do I return something that was sent to me folded in half and wrapped in plastic that I had to cut in order to open it?

This is a lovely rug. I got it to go in my newly remodeled kitchen and it looks amazing under my table. It is the perfect complement to my paint color as well as the other rug and the new flooring. Everything goes so well together and I am extremely happy. The rug is soft, vacuums nicely, and the color has a very slight blue tint to it. My walls are gray and they enhance one another. I highly recommend this rug.

This item was on sale, so maybe that's related to this issue -- maybe it sat around a warehouse too long before it got sold. . The rug itself is beautiful, and is intrinsically of excellent quality. It appears to have been very well made, and since it is 100% wool, I expect it to last a long time. . But apparently the rug was rolled up tight for so long that it won't lay flat. It is full of lumps and wrinkles that run from side to side. In a ten foot long runner, that's an issue, and could actually be a safety problem for some people. Plus the uneven surface mars the beauty of the rug. I hung it up for several days, but that seems to have done nothing to help it flatten out. The next step will be to iron it. I hope that works, because otherwise it is a beautiful rug. I love the color, the texture, and the quality of the craftsmanship. Less

I purchased this rug 3 years ago. It's in my great room, so has seen a ton of abuse. It's had multiple things spilled on it, we have pets who love to abuse it. 1. It's held up great. Cleans up fairly easily with carpet cleaner. Kool-aid stains don't seem to want to come up, but fortunately, that red stain sits under my ottoman. Everything else was easily removed. 2. It does shed, still sheds, 3 years later, but it has improved significantly. The shedding doesn't bother me 3. The natural wool has held it's appearance. It's not beat down or smooshed anywhere, even where furniture sits. 4. Would absolutely purchase again, especially for the price. This same rug is available from other retailers for 2-3 times the price. In fact, I'm considering buying again because of my kid and his Kool-aid.

Highly recommended

This is just one of the 4 Safavieh Handmade Himalaya Solid Red Wool Rugs that I bought for my small apartment. One 6x6 over wall-to-wall carpet in the living room; one 2x8 over tile and carpeting in the front hall; one 2x6 over tile in the dressing room; and one 2x3 over carpeting under a display stand in a corner. All are very well-made, rather plush and luxurious, and distinctive. I must get a rug-on-carpet non-slip pad for the 2x8 rug in the front hallway because it moves significantly over the carpeting. The large one in the living room does not because it's anchored by heavy furniture; nor does the small one. The one over tile in the dressing room is held down by some sticky rubber corner pieces bought elsewhere, but they don't work at all with the front hall rug over carpet. Less
