Very Nice

Once together it is a very nice piece. Comes in multiple packages of which a couple are quite heavy so you may need an extra pair of hands to get them in the house and for assembling it. Assembly was a little difficult because the hex key wrench didn't fit the bolts very well. I would suggest you use a rachet and a store bought hex key socket the size that will fit the bolts better.

I was leary about spending this much money on an item thatb had to be assembled, i guess the old saying "you get what you pay for" is true. This unit it very heavy duty and very well built. I read all the reviews and I am glad I took the plunge and bought it. I am 65 years old and had no problem assembling it by myself. I had no fitment or quality issues as mentioned in the lower star reviews I took my time and followed the directions to a tee and everything went well. there were times where a extra hand would have bee nice (like when putting the top on) but I got through it with out any help. I am very impressed with the quality and workmanship and highly recomend this product, you will not be disappointed

I was nervous about getting this product without being able to see it. It was exactly what we wanted. I gave it a 4 only because 1 part was broken, but it was easily glued where it didn’t show. Also the directions for putting it together are horrible. But the finished product is exactly what we wanted and looks great in our kitchen!

Wife likes it very much, but looks like the box containing the top (the heaviest one) was dropped some time after packing pulling some of the screws out of the drawer slides. (the screws were wandering around in the cavity) Relatively easy fix with a bit of toothpick in the hole and put the screw back in, so not worth getting cranky about. All in all good furniture for the price. And the delivery person was good.

Doors don’t close

I love this piece, my husband put it together with no problems, however the doors don’t shut right, you have to lift them up to get them to shut. Called customer service (very nice) sent us 2 more doors to try. Still awful. For the money you want it to work correctly. Everything else lined up nice

This product is great! The final product looks great in our kitchen and is the best self-assembling product I have ever made. I only had one issue, which was attaching the bottom to the columns. My helper and I couldn't complete the step without standing the whole thing upside down. I called the company about it. They were friendly and receptive to my concerns. Buy this if you are looking for an island and chairs.

Great buy

This is really a nice piece of furniture. I put it together 95% on my own (the table top being put on is definitely a two person job), but I would recommend two people for most of. My only complaints is that one chair was missing the packet of wood screws, and I haven't been able to find a match, but I emailed the address given, so hopefully that will be remedied soon. I would also note that the chairs are VERY easy to put together as a one person job.

This is not an EASY put together project!! You need more than one person to put it together and I am just one with no help to find. The only thing easy were the chairs. Five boxes of extreme heaviness. This item needs the option for help like all of your other heavy projects. I had to call help from an Angie Pro to get the thing put together. That cost me an additional $ 150.00. Would I recommend this only if you have help. Its not a do alone project!!!

Very solid furniture good for storage and small dinning spaces. When putting together don't worry about the middle divider on the cabinet not seeming sturdy because the top helps lock it in place. The only thing to worry about is breaking down all the packaging to be thrown away. Almost rated it excellent.

Beautiful peice love it but the word white is not. I disliked that it looks more antique white because I was paying for white. You can see the color more when my white wood blinds are shut that its a different white or at night my door trim is near it so eventually I might paint it. My carpenter husband put it together with zoom speed with me just helping place the top on of course is easier with 2. This appens sometimes ordering online but I wouldn't send it back because I've got way too many complements. If your second guessing this don't it's a beautiful peice to put appetizers on and gather around, sit and have a glass of wine while your husband cooks for you. At least if you really need white you can spray it before you put it together. I would of done it if my husband realized it was the wrong color but oh well.

I was reluctant to order online and waited months. I was hesitant of buying it sight unseen while also have the daunting task of assembly. It worked out great! Fast shipping from overstock! 5 cartons arrived together. Item was well packaged. It took me almost as long to break down the boxes for recycling as it took my son to assemble. This kitchen island set in oak is perfect. The color and the material was as expected. Nice quality for the price. looks great. Nice storage and seating. I would not have attempted to assemble this myself but my teenage son with a little assistance to hold a couple pieces was able to assemble this in less than 2 hours. He is handy. I love my new island set!

We ordered this island to give our kitchen more counter space and storage and we love it! The material it is made from is sturdy. You have to assemble most of it together, but the instructions were clear and didn't take terribly long. We searched many places for an island that had closed-in storage (several of the ones we liked had the open shelving) because we were expecting our first child and we knew one day she would be crawling and pulling things off the shelving if they were open, and we are extremely happy we found this one with the closed-in storage. We use it for her snacks, bottles, formula water & formula powder, etc...there is plenty of room! Also the doors to the shelving underneath are magnetic & it's perfect because our almost one year old does not have the strength to open them (yet!). The chairs that come with them are also sturdy & we love that there is extra seating for our friends when we are in the kitchen. We are 100% satisfied with this island! We would recommend it to anybody. Several of our friends have asked us where we purchased it & we are happy to say Overstock.com

I purchased this island to work double duty-a Storage spot as well as a dinner table for my small home. The only drawback was a lack of wheels. Even though it was not recommended, I went out and purchased heavy duty low profile casters and has my boyfriend install them in each corner. They work perfectly! Now I just roll the island away from the wall and 4 of us can sit around it at dinner time! The island is a good quality for the price and is very handsome. The tabletop, though, scratches easily. The wood is soft, so take care to not drag anything across it. The unit is not wobbly, the doors stay shut when I move it across the floor. I would definitely recommend this.

Similar to other reviewers we're rating this at 5 stars due to the sturdiness and good quality of the piece. It looks nice in our kitchen and it is a nice addition for extra seating and counter space for kitchen prep. The packaging was great and all pieces were in tact with no damage, however this comes in 5 big boxes that are heavy and awkward so you definitely need 2-3 people to lug in the boxes and put this together. Two cons in my opinion: the packaging is oversized and now that we live in a town that we need to bring things to the dump and recycle, we will need to bring two loads just for this one product - definitely not "green". There was one step on the directions that wasn't super clear (step 2 or 3) and we had to dismantle the piece a bit to get it to go together. With some wrestling it finally went in and we are happy with the end product. The island and two stools took about 3 hours to assemble from start to finish.
