We purchased this 4.5 years ago and it still looks great overall. It's very sturdy along with the chairs. Great storage underneath and on the sides and I use it all. The only thing that could use improvement is the top. The wood surrounding the granite isn't heat or stain resistant and the paint chips with longtime use. The whole top should just be the granite, which has held up great.

My Island is beautiful. I had some pieces replaced very rapidly, within a day of requesting them. It took only a few hours to put it together although I need two other people to left the top and put it in place. But all in all I am very satisfied, Note I'm a 74 year old female. The chairs are very flimsy and I will not be using them afraid they are unsafe.

Awesome product. Looks wonderful in our kitchen and serves all our needs. Assembly was not hard however you do need two strong people to put the top on. All parts were in the box and nothing was damaged. Would highly recommend this product.

This is a wonderful piece of furniture. I moved into an apartment with an open floor plan. I knew I wanted an island and not a kitchen table. Purchasing this particular island was a great choice. It completely finishes the space while still being practical. It holds many kitchen items, has nice display areas and is my go to space for chopping and prepping. It's also my place to sit for Zoom's. The island is of excellent quality and looks and feels built in. A+

Beautiful piece of furniture. Really gorgeous and a great price. Made in Thailand and packed extremely well as the outside cardboard box had 2 damaged areas. There was thankfully no damage to the furniture. Strange that the stools were made in China though.

So much to say about this set of furniture… It arrived within three days of ordering which I thought was amazing because it is no small item. The island was in two very heavy boxes, as others have mentioned. The two chairs came in separate boxes. All the boxes were in great shape. The counter was indeed padded and crated to avoid damage. There were no issues with damaged pieces or nicks or gouges. I had to help the UPS driver get the base and the top (the heaviest boxes) onto the porch. I want to point out that this is a top-quality piece of furniture, so it being heavy makes it all the more high quality. The pieces are wood and not particle board. We (two people) put the chairs together first. I’m glad we did, because they were a bit more complicated than the actual island to put together. Pay attention to which leg goes on which side of the seat of the chair; it WILL matter which brace between legs goes to which piece, so read the instructions carefully. Also, the individual legs attach to the base with the middle sized bolt, which is not mentioned in the instructions. The island itself comes in many pieces, so it is best to lay it in general piles so you can see the letters as you put it together. Also, I highly recommend a power drill vs the hex key. There is a time saving using the straight hex drill bit (included) of about 500%. All the pieces fit together well, which will be important later when you are trying to lay the SUPER heavy top on the unit and match up cam bolts and pegs. We had to set it twice and use a flashlight so we could see all the places the counter connected to the base. All this being said, the instructions were very easy to follow. This is a two person job, best done with a lot of good lighting. While building there is a lot of kneeling, crawling, reaching,etc. If I sold this thing tomorrow, I would charge at least $*** more than I paid for it, just due to assembly effort! The only thing I would point out as a slight negative was that there were two circles in the granite countertop. I say “in” and not “on” because they seem to be permanent. The black granite is not marbled as one might think. Rather it is solid black, well sealed, and shiny. But we think it looks great! The finished piece, along with the chairs, are really attractive and add much needed counter/food preparation space to a small kitchen. It will also be used a a workspace, and there is ample room for this. I would recommend this island to anyone in need of a smaller, two person solid and functional addition to their kitchen.

Looks good but...

I absolutely love this kitchen island. I would give it 5 stars but the base attachments were damaged. Fortunately it was fixable and we were able to keep it. It looks great in our kitchen along with our white cabinets and black granite counter tops. Overstock gave me an adjustment for the damage so it all worked out. January 25, 2022-After having this island for a while I will have to downgrade my review. The slightest bit of liquid that gets on the top leaves a water mark. I have tried every possible product to remedy this and nothing works. It looks bad and I would not buy this again.

Worth the money

Beautiful addition to the kitchen. Great extra storage space. Easy to put together, heavy top. Chairs are very nice. I love the height. Extremely comfortable to use for cooking or sitting for dinner. I am so glad I bought this.

Stands the test of time and use!

We have had this island for several years now. It is still in like new condition and there are no rips or scuffs in the stools. We use it all the time to be together while cooking. Great craftsmanship.

Great Quality

Great Quality! Item is exactly as described. I would recommend purchasing this to someone else. It was not that hard to put this together. Instructions were clear.

It was fairly easy to assemble. It takes 2 people to put the top on. (Very heavy). The chairs did not look the same. The pre-drilled holes off a bit. It is very pretty

We absolutely love this island! It has tons of space and is incredibly sturdy. The only thing is, make sure you dedicate a weekend (or free day) to assembling this thing and make sure you have another strong person with you to assemble it! The top is SUPER heavy but it is 100% worth it

Island is gorgeous. 2 legs for the chairs came cracked but customer service was amazing, walked me through to get replacements. Very helpful! Quality is solid, not sure what happened with the legs but the chairs are great quality as well.

My island is beautiful. It's sturdy with a lot of storage. My only complaint is it arrived damaged. I called customer service and they were pleasant and easy to work with. Would definitely recommend Hayneedle to family and friends.

Great piece!

I love this piece in my small dining room. It was much easier to assemble than I thought, however I did find the granite top to be extremely heavy. Although best to have two people place the top on the island, taking the folding piece off made the lift much "easier".

Beautiful but a few minor issues

Overall, this island turned out to be what I expected, however, there were a few minor issues. After opening the packaging, there was a chip on the peg on the very bottom of the island. Some wood was missing and I had to purchase gorilla glue in order to glue the missing chunk back to its original location. The entire weight of the island is on this piece so I'm hoping I do not encounter any issues down the road. The island itself is beautiful. I do recommend purchasing your own stools instead of the stools that come with the island because they are not as tall as you would expect. Also, there was a minor issue with the stitching on one of the stools. Stitches were coming out in one spot but I managed to fix that myself as well. I am not unhappy with the island, it looks as beautiful as it does in the photo - just a few minor issues.

Best kitchen purchase this year! Worth every penny!

I absolutely love this Kitchen Island. It's sturdy and well made. It was relatively easy to put together if you just have some patience and follow the instructions. It's beautiful and very functional. The drawer is the perfect size for utensils, the cabinet is spacious and the cutting surface is perfect! If you are short on counter space and/or storage space you need this. The decorative side shelves are a nice touch as well. I can't speak highly enough about this for the value. It's a beast when it arrives - but even by myself I moved all the pieces into the house from my front porch. Just know that the granite is HEAVY, but even still I moved it alone. If you have help you are good to go. It will take about 2-3 hours to assemble including the chairs.

Purchased several of these for our customers and they're always a huge hit! Installation is fairly simple, but do be sure to set it up exactly where you'd like it in your home/office. They're not the easiest to move! The wood is soft so if you have sharp objects being thrown across it constantly it can scratch the top. In most of our cases it actually enhanced the "distressed" look. Overall a great purchase!

The barstools are cheap, but love my island!

I've had this island for a year and I still love it. It was a process to assemble alone, but it was worth it.
