the screen shoji part of the door frame came very crimped - it is not tightly adhered and so it has creases which detracts from the overall look of the door. also there is no place for your fingers to open and close the doors - so I had to make it myself .

We were sorely disappointed both in the damage done during shipping and the quality of this item. The material used for the screening appears to be some sort of fibrous batting like you would use between two pieces of fabric to thicken them, the wood appeared to be of good quality but the screening made the whole thing look cheap. We were expecting some sort of heavy rice paper or heavy cloth screening as the description suggests "Tough, fiber-reinforced rice paper allows diffused light while providing privacy" This is not any sort of rice paper that I am familiar with. This thing would not stand up to your average house cat claws for more than a week. As stated there was shipping damage and good on Home Depot in expediting the return and full refund but I would not recommend this product.

Bringing nature indoors

These doors provide a very tranquil ambience to any room. The shojigami (rice paper) requires you to be very, very careful when sliding the doors. I recommend installing a latch.
